In fairness I can see why some are fairly confident, under McCall our record against SFL teams in the cups(apart from 'that' game at Ibrox) has been fantastic. Dundee(a), Stranraer(a) Clyde(a), Queens Park(h) & Morton(h).. 5 Wins 20 goals scored 0 conceded McCall usually strikes the right balance between first team players and fringe players in these games and I don't think he'll allow the players to take Livi lightly. Although it's the cup and anything can happen etc... If we approach this with the right manner we should be winning this one.

Faddy dropped for Ramsden.

When I went to the Cowdenbeath game in the summer Dom Thomas, along with Euan Murray were the two young players that stood out to me but in particular Thomas. Lovely left foot, could beat a man, ping a pass and scored a cracking goal with his 'weaker' right foot. A few times he went for the difficult option, the Hollywood pass or to try and beat one man too many but I suppose that's part of the naivety of youth. He did look an excellent prospect and seems to stick out whenever I watch the U'20's, his only problem is that he's a naturally left sided, attack minded midfield player and we're not exactly short of those with Vigurs, Faddy, ZFA etc.

Another week, another winning goal from John Sutton. That's three games in a row. Where are his detractors now?
-
Murray was impressive in pre-season but McCall said he's also injured. I think we'll end up with Lawson at full back.
-
A left sided, creative midfielder at right wing back?
-
I see McCall said Fraser Kerr's unavailable for tomorrow, who the fuck is going to play right back tomorrow then? Who plays there for the U 20's? Or are we just going to shoe-horn Lawson in there?
-
Probably becuase it would mean dropping the guy that's scored the winning goal in each of our last two games. Also Ramsden's suspended.
-
I hope not, the Sutton/Anier partnership up front has been one of the real plus points over the last two games as well as the Lasley/Carswell partnership in middle of the park. And although they've had a few howlers the McManus/Hutchison pairing has potential to be our best centre back pairing in years and will only get better with the number of games they play together. I hope McCall doesn't start messing with the spine of a team that's won it's last two games. If Anier's tired then bring him off after an hour or so, McCall put him on the bench for the Inverness game and by the time our top scorer was on the park we were two down and the game was all but over. Fraser Kerr in for Ramsden is the only change I'd make.

Or it could be this lad.. Considering this is the video he put of himself on his Twitter page. Looks like a (left sided) young winger/forward who last played for Barnsley.

Currently 2-0 down to Hibs at half time and baring a miraculous 2nd half fight back on course for a 4th straight defeat.

The biggest disappointment for me from the Gannon era was not from the man himself but rather the disappointing way in which the young lads he brought into the team failed to live up to their early promise. Someone said earlier that the game against Flamuratari was a favourite and it's the same for me, that whole time was a fairly exciting time to be a 'Well fan and we looked to have a team full of bright looking prospects coming through. However, for one reason or another most failed to make the grade. Steven Saunders- A bright prospect who even managed to blag a full Scotland cap, no doubt his development was stunted by a series of injuries. Since been released and struggling to break into Ross County's team. Jonathan Page- Never really established himself as a first team regular and was more of a squad utility man. Released and after a short spell at Accies he's now struggling to get into the Morton team on a regular basis. Shaun Hutchinson- Very good prospect who's put his injury problems behind him to be a key player for Motherwell. Will no doubt play at a higher level than the SPFL soon. Ross Forbes- After a very promising start under Gannon he fell so far out the picture in his final season he made just 6 appearances and just 1 SPL start. Now back in the SPL as a squad player at Thistle. Jamie Murphy- Along with Hutchinson the only real success. All time European top scorer, over 200 games, 50 goals and a(small) six figure fee when he left. Bob McHugh- Excellent record a youth level and indeed notched 2 goals in his first 6 games under Gannon. Four years and just four more goals later we're still waiting on Bob to force his way into the team, still has time but has been given two starts by McCall this season as a show of faith and struggled in both. Paul Slane- Fuck knows where he is? Last seen being released by Celtic and blowing his severance package on drugs and prostitutes, although I know he was training with us in February. Think he's currently recovering from a hip operation and might if he's lucky be given one more chance to salvage some sort of footballing career. The most talented of the bunch and he's the only one without a club. The other lesser seen players that played under Gannon like Archdeacon, Meechan and Pollock all seem to have disappeared from senior football. Really thought at the time we had an excellent group of young players coming through who'd go on to make up the basis of our team for the next few years but only really Murphy and Hutchinson done so(although Saunders was a regular before he got crippled). Maybe looking back they weren't quite as good as I thought they were but to be honest I fair enjoyed watching them back then and I'm quite disappointed how it ended up at Fir Park for most of them. Anyway Gannon, was a bit of a knob but he did give a lot of our youth team a chance and brought in some excellent players. Although results weren't always the best if I'm honest I still quite enjoyed his spell in charge, on the pitch anyway. Certainly was no where near as depressing as the Malpas season, in my opinion.

When he first signed, Anier said in the press My link Now, his contract at Viking FK doesn't actually end until December 2014. So whether they'd simply let him go or try and get a bit of cash for him I don't know. If it's cash they're after that pretty much would rule us out. Perhaps they might be happy to just offload him off the wage bill but if he gets into double figures for us by January(and considering he has 3 already it's hardly out of the question) they might want to give him another go or as I say try and use his spell in Scotland to punt him for a wee bit of cash. It seems he never settled in Norway but he certainly appears to be happy here and enjoying his football. From what we've seen so far I'd quite like us to make it permanent, hopefully he really does feel the same.

Deserved win, much like last week should have had the game sewn up before we allowed the opposition back into it. To be honest, I'd forgotten how much I liked big John Sutton the first time round. Great effort today, won lots in the air, showed his strength, his usual power of work and once again when we put a bit of quality into the box he's on the end of it to notch the winner for the 2nd week running. Fair play to Anier, 3 goals in 3 SPFL starts is good going for the new boy, also full of endeavour today. Carswell was terrific again, he and Lasley must cover some amount of ground between them. Terrific in the engine room. I actually thought that was probably one of Simon Ramsden's best games in a 'Well shirt until he needlessly got himself sent off. Also special mention to Lee Hollis, two really good saves in the last 10 minutes helped secure the points. Hopefully gives him a wee confidence boost going forward. Again as a team we were functional if not entirely fluid. Still created a number of chances and still winning games which has to be the main positive. There's brief glimpses here and there and we play some good stuff in short bursts but never over a sustained period. I do think sooner rather than later it will 'click' and we'll give someone a doing. I said these two home games were big and wanted at least 4 points to bounce back with so fair play to McCall and the boys in grinding out 6 points over these two games and hopefully we can kick on from here.

That John Sutton eh? Fucking Useless. All he does is score winning goals each week.
-
ESPN stats has him down as having a rather decent 31 assists so far in his career and various websites also have him down as having scored 24 goals in his career as well. Of course he's not going to be perfect but their seems to be some ability in the lad, hopefully like so many others we can get the best out of him.

-
Had a quick look, he's a former England youth International and was linked with a move to the Premiership with Stoke in 2011 but the move never materialised. The general consensus is that he's a talented boy who's been a bit of a waster so far and hasn't reached his potential yet.

Lionel Ainsworth on loan til January according to some Sky Sports reporter on twitter.

Sutton didn't do much else apart from score? You must watch a different game. Most of our chances came through John Sutton. Anier's snap shot straight at the keeper comes from Sutton knockdown Anier's chance at the start of the 2nd half he sclaffed wide was from a Sutton knock down Faddy's chance he curled wide at the near post was from Sutton getting to the byline and putting the cross in Lasley's chance came from Sutton holding of the defender and playing the through ball Anier latched on to and subsequently squared to Lasley. Not to mention he was unlucky that Anier never looked up and saw him free in the box in the early stages of the 2nd half or he could have had another. That's without mentioning his general work rate and the tireless shift he put in for the team. I thought he played quite well but having just watched the highlights on MFCTV back you can't fail to notice how many times Sutton bullied their centre backs and just how involved he was in most of our good chances. Still, I imagine some posters on here will still fail to acknowledge his contribution.
-
Really? How many chances did he create? How many times did he test Hollis? As per a few step overs, got into good areas and failed to deliver a telling ball. A typical Higginbotham performance as far as I can see and yesterday did nothing to change my mind that he's no great loss.
-
To be fair to them, both Sutton and Anier ran themselves into the ground for the team today. Both involved for the goal and linked up a few times. Although you got the feeling we could still be playing now and Anier still wouldn't have scored. Ever since the Newcastle game you could see he always gets himself into good positions but he just seemed to snatch at his chances today and I don't think he struck one cleanly. Still his pace and ability to run the channels was missed when he went off and indeed he played a big part in the goal by doing just that. Sutton probably got the nod to stay on due us being penned in and McCall wanting all the height he could get back to help ensure we didn't give away another cheap goal from a set piece. Both put in a shift up top. Carswell was the outstanding player for the 1st hour until he was forced off. After that I thought Hutchinson and McManus looked very good at the back but would probably say Hutchinson edged it.
-
The game changed when Carswell went off. He was in their for pace, energy and mobility and he was doing an excellent job in the middle of the park closing them down and shutting down the space. Once he went off spaces started opening up for Thistle, we lost our shape and we were pushed further and further back. Hopefully he's back for next week. Also what about that pass with his shoulder? Lovely stuff.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet but we're apparently interested in taking Dylan McGeouch on loan according to the Express along with a few other SPFL teams.
-
Axel Bossekota? Now playing for Limerick F.C in Ireland, 6 goals in 19 games. Saw him play for U20's a few times, he was alright but wouldn't of got near the 1st team. Anyway would be surprised if we signed the boy on trial as McCall seems to want to have a look at the loan market down south and weigh up his options. I imagine we'll have had a fair few on trial over the summer in the hope of finding another gem like Ojamaa but I imagine you have to sift through a lot of shite in order to find good players like Henrik.
