  1. Sounded more like keeping his options open. There was another article form this interview where he talks about his preference for youth development, and the bbc article seems to have pulled the diplomatic answers to the "do you want the job" question and turned it into a story. I wouldn't discount him taking it, (I thought hammell would never take the role then that happened). However, the interim guy needs to be careful, if they say they've no intention of going for the role, it might make it harder to get buy in from players. Oh, and Ian McCall is a big no for me.
  2. Sounds like scrum of scrums. If we start doing Agile I might throw my hat in the ring after all :-)
  3. The society is a shambles though, which is frustrating since it's not really set up for the foreign based fans to have much influence. I'm still writing my dossier that I promised kmcalpin, but the on field frustrations slowed me down.
  4. I thought it was surprising until I saw that their league form has dropped off and their playoff chances were starting to dwindle. Still seems hasty though.
  5. This isnt really miles away from what exists currently, save adding a director of football. Separating administrative functions and football functions is fine, but since there are currently already departments with their own heads under the CEO, we aren't miles away from that either. I like the DoF model though, as long as we don't get a shite one. Our current board has more years of business expertise than some of us have years full stop. It's a group of volunteers, and you can't force folk to volunteer, but would be happy to add someone else to the current group, especially some younger folk. Not sure about the steering group. If we need another group to monitor what the board does, then we have the wrong board.
  6. Faddy was a burden as an assistant, it was just a way of keeping him around. We did the same with lasley. Can we pin a post with the title of "Neil Lennon can't take a job in the UK until April because of taxes"? Simo just took another job, so he's out.
  7. I think most of us had taken to efford by the time he got the injury. He was able to get us up the park, and was our one player with any pace. Something we still dont have. It's good to see him and bevis back on the mend, hopefully a few more to follow.
  8. The statement was clear that flow isn't involved in the process.
  9. Maybe Joe Efford is better than we all think? More likely, we were riding on the confidence of those first few games, and when things started to not go our way, our inexperienced coaching staff didn't know how to turn it around.
  10. I don't know what Kelly does behind the scenes, or how much stock he puts in being captain. On the face of it, taking that pressure away so that he can focus on playing could be a good thing, but it could be counterproductive. I'll disagree with the "vocal" thing. What they say, and how they conduct themselves on the field matters more than how loud they shout. The Roy Keane persona is a cliche from the 90s. The same goes for the manager. A shouty ball-buster just isn't a thing anymore,
  11. Pretty sure kettlewell was a successfull youth coach at county before he managed them, and he came to us to fill the open position of head of youth. I don't think there is any more to his appointment than that. Also, apparently he isn't interested in full time management for job security and media reasons.
  12. Goodwin hasn't really been particularly successful. I looked up Jack Ross and he seems to have been decent at both st mirren and hibs, as far as win percentage goes, but that may include st mirren's promotion. Both at least have experience, but have recently shown a lack of ability to do the very thing we need them to come in and do. The last thing we need is someone else adding to the stink of failure that's going around. All signs seem to be pointing to lambert, who hasn't managed for 2 years, but has 16 years experience at good levels to draw on. I'd assume ex accies manager Stuart Taylor would be assistant. He also fits the ex St Mirren mould, so the bit can continue.
  13. Any of our injuries going to miraculously heal in the next couple of days?
  14. I'm sure by "factors" they mean injuries, getting signings in, the mess Alexander left, the world cup, burrows leaving, players being bad, manager and assistant not being good, board being slow, etc.
  15. We lost him, McKinnon, and Alex Burns when the first bosmans happened. We were all a bit pissed about it, but I can't remember anything being directed at the players. The chat a few years later was that Lambert and McKinnon would have stayed if they had got a modest pay raise. Man, what a team that was. Some of the stuff between Coyne, Davies and Lambert was magic.
  16. We have no defenders, which is about 10 less than he would prefer.
  17. He wishes. He also wishes he didn't relegate dunfermline, raith and Hartlepool. Enough job openings have passed him by to suggest he's not that good. I'll support whoever gets the job, but his record since leaving Inverness hass been piss poor.
  18. No to kettlewell, he was only good when he had half the job at county. Goodwin and Ross have experience, but their success is a mirage. I wouldn't be furious with either, but I'm not sure they will want it. John Hughes can fuck right off.
  19. Do we know why it was cancelled?
  20. No amount of money is going to persuade me to read twitter replies for the foreseeable.
  21. Ha ha. Maybe go finish your homework. If we are going to rate our execs on how much we win and how far we go in europe, then we're going to have a bad time. You can't blame the execs/board for everything then claim our player successes are solely down to coaches (that they hired). A whole lot of revisionist history and point scoring going on due to recent mistakes.
  22. Went for O'Donnell because as shite as we were, he showed some nuts and made a fist of it in a position he should never have been in. I'm not going to slate any player for that shit show today, that was a display that smacked of "please sack me" from the manager.
