  1. I think probably Jenno's was the only one of ours that was deserved, because he's pretty much just took a boot at the guy. Goodwin had 3 fouls on Higdon so your looking a second booking because its Persistant fouling. The one that really got me was Stephen Thompson getting of with 2 deliberate hand balls in the first half without getting a booking. Both were deliberate and for me its a booking, becaus ehe was trying to gain an advantage. Referee was terrible. He did get the penalty call correct though. i was right in line with it and didnt think it was a foul.
  2. Cant say we deserved to win that today. Part of the problem at home seems to be we sit too deep. The amount of seconds balls that St Mirren won uncontested was way to high. Goodwin should have walked for the two footed lunch on Jenno and then punching, but Jenno needs to be a bit more savvy than to just lash out and foul the nearest guy to him. Him getting booked, along with Lasley meant we couldnt put the foot in the second half. On the plus side Murphy looked a lot more like his old self and perhaps should have shot instead of trying to play Higgy in. Daley was outstanding and showed how a winger with a footballing brain plays. Very strong and doesnt panic when he has the ball. Humphrey reallys needs to lift his head more. The few openings we got in the second half seemed to fall to him and usually broke down by picking the wrong option. Murphy at one point was making a great run into the box and all he has to do is roll an easy ball inside but he tried to beat the man and eventually lost possession. All in all a point gained, because we really could have lost in the second half.
  3. This is gonna sound daft but the weather forecast might have something to do with it. Heavy snow forecast...... meaning they might be struggling to get back to Portugal for any midweek fixtures..... As i said sounds stupid but nothing would surprise me!!
  4. Portguesse refs away back home. Just on Sky Sports the now. This is becoming a farce. The SFA are fast losing the last of there credibility.
  5. Aye I think it was. Think it was actually the following season although not to sure. think we won 2-1 up there.
  6. Yeah I think you might be right. I remember his first season he was talked about for Euro 92 squad as backup to Goram and Smith. But I think there was a game the following season against Thistle were Dykstra was injured. We lost 2 nil and Billy dropped both of them in. Think it was round about February time when we were bottom. Probably why he stuck in my head as being a bit of a nightmare! Think it was the same game that Stevie Bryce missed an absolute sitter with about 10 minutes to go to put us back in it.
  7. Can only echo whats been said above. The team has looked pretty steady recently because there's been very little tinkering. Ruddy Hateley, Craigan, Reynolds, Hammell O'Brien, Jennings, Lasley, Fitzpatrick Sutton, Jutkiewicz Subs: Fraser, Saunders, Forbes, Coke, Murphy, Humphreys, McHugh. I would stay with the same team as the weekend with Humphrey coming on later for Fitzpatrick to run at them Massive game because a win here will keep the momentum going and give us a bit of confidence going in to the game against Rangers.
  8. Joe McLeod..... Watched him in one of his first games against Falkirk in the cup. Had a cracking game... followed by another 2 years of pish. I think we actually swapped John O'Neil to get him! Andy Roddie, Paul Baker, Jason Dair, Shaun McSkimming, Mario Dorner, John Hendry, John Davies, Ange Quefio, Joni Lehtonen, Billy Thomson to name but a few I also remember a guy called Alex Jones who played in the season after the cup win who was dire
  9. Think he was on loan at Derby was he not? Probably end up back there
  10. A wee rumour doing the rounds is that McGhoo is trying to get Clarkson on loan at the sheepies to replace Miller...... I wouldny mind having him back even just till the end of the season. Gives us a few options up front because at the moment we really only have 2 main strikers with Jamie Murphy more suited to playin just off the front 2.
  11. On the BBC site.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...utd/8440296.stm
  12. Just back from the game. A lot of positives to take out of it. Thought Jennings looked good until he tired. Hateley's passing was immense and big Lukas worked hard. Big Saunders didnt look too clever today but i think thats more to do with him being exposed because of the lack of cover provided at right back. Maybe time for Hutch to come back in and put Saunders out to right back Only negatives are that we maybe stood off them a big and showed them too much respect (especially with Samaras goal). We didnt really get stuck in as much as what i would have liked but i think thats more to do with us still being a young team. The youngs boys are only gonna get stronger. I would maybe have put sutton on when mchugh came off because at that stage Celtic had started to close us down at the back so we were using more and more high balls. Other than that there was a lot of positives and i dont think we have as much to fear next week as we think.
  13. It wasn't Lasley that lost the ball for the goal it was O'Brien (the same O'Brien who was quite rightly booked for an absolutely ridiculous dive) Although Lasley did give the ball away shortly before that which almost cost a goal. I cant believe folk are going to judge him on 30 minutes of football. I actually thought he did well when he came on. Didnt lose the ball, apart from the the instance mentioned above and was wrongly flagged for offside. When he came on he made 2 or 3 runs beyond the strikers that neither Coke or Forbes managed in the game. I would start him (or Jennings if fit) next week and maybe rest Forbes as he's been looking a bit jaded in the last few games.
  14. Just back in form the game. All in all thought we should have won. So many chances again and some week were gonna give somebody an absolute scudding. Only criticism today was taking Craigan enough. Yes he had a mare against St Mirren a few weeks but why take of a centre half and put a midfielder to centre half? Jim seems to constantly try and fit Hateley in to the side somewhere rather than take him off. Thought the 2 strikers did well along with the 2 full backs.
