    Tickets

a few years back, I went to Kiev for the Scotland game - i think we were charged £11.50 for our match ticket through the SFA - not bad for us, but when you change that into their currency - you realise that to the locals, that is a FORTUNE. Anyway, one of the guys that came with us never had a ticket, so he bought a ticekt for the home end and chanced his luck - it cost him.....................50p!!! So I agree with you - we continually get ripped off in this country!

    Tickets

i've been to the San Siro - it cost me £7 for a ticket!
  4. the ticket thing is a UEFA rule............i agree though, its a bit of a pain. Dont think there will be a big support at all. I'm not as optimistic as you, i think this will be alot tougher than we expect and certainly tougher than the games we had last year. I'm actually thinking the worst, i think we might struggle - however I do hope I'm wrong. Nice early goal to settle the nerves and get the fans behind the team and i will be happy!! Am I the only one who thinks this might be a struggle?!

    Possible Targets

for comparison, whats ours?? anyone know? 10.6m is over £200k a week. I know they have alot of players but thats sky high
  6. I agree with you, and in that same thread I suggested i wouldnt be renewing (for the first time ever) purely down to money. As for the powers, JB said in his letter - a season ticket is more than getting into the game every week, its making a commitment to the club. For as long as he takes that stand, I cant ever see the price being dropped dramatically or any other incentive becoming available
  7. the Wigan chairman was interviewed months back saying he could actually afford to let the fans in for free for the whole season - i dont have time to post a link to it, maybe someone will be kind enough too the point he was making was something relating to how much money they recieve from TV revenue and how other clubs were not managing their finances properly bear in mind, that if you win the SPL - you get what? £1m? if that? if you get relegated from the Premiership you get a £30m parachute payment yes, prices up here are out of touch, however you cant make any comparison
  8. Falkirk - Robert Olenik - reasonable keeper, is he better than Fraser?? Tam Scobbie - i think he's decent, not the best, not the worst but good cover for LB/CB if Reynolds is offski Arfield - defo - but out our league Barr - defo, again out our league - anyway has he not signed for Hearts / Hibs? St Midden - Andy Dorman - probably the best player from these 3 teams, altho recently been out the team. Probably out of our league - the OF may take a chance on him Paul Gallacher - same as Olenik, decent - is he better than Fraser? Billy Mehmet - too similar to Sutton? Big John seems to be playing alot at Left Mid recently - I would be happy to give him a chance Michael Higdon - monster of a man, but great in the air and holding the ball up - will never run all day, but if we have someone to do that, could be a good shout Graham Carey - on loan from Smeltic - I was impressed with him any time we played them - could we do a deal for another season long loan? or will he want back at Smackhead to see if he is in with a shout Kilmarnock - Mark Brown - another on loan from Smeltic - would he want to come back? Kevin Kyle - i'd take him Danny Invincible - worth a punt for his name alone! Craig Bryson - would he want to come back? Allen Russell - i think he'd be worth a punt Touill - defo a gifted player, but maybe too much of a luxury for our team I also wouldnt mind seeing Severin or Maguire for us, altho I do think they are only at Killie the now because of the tango man. Maguire would probably cost money, maybe McGhee would just be happy ot get him off the wage bill?? As for Severin, he must be on a fair bit at Watford, but i'd be happy to have him as a squad player as he can play centre half or he can play the holding role Cant believe i've listed that many Killie players when I think there team is shite!!!
  9. anyones started yet??? i'm getting handball the now
  10. i voted for not renewing my 2 season tickets, and it will be the first time I will be without one since the east stand actually opened as a seated area. For me, it purely comes down to money. Having to shell out for two tickets in this climate just isn’t going to happen. Other priorities mean the money needs to go elsewhere. Everything is increasing in price, but my wages aren’t going up at the same rate. I used to pride myself on going to every game, home and away and had the match day programme to prove it. Programmes slowly started going out the window when they started going up from £1, then away games as prices increased, now the time has come for the ST to go. Our season tickets are far from being the most expensive in the SPL, and I appreciate Motherwell doing their best to keep the prices as low as they can, however I still don’t find them great value for money. Having to stump up the lump sum pre-season, DOES help the club – however it doesn’t help me. Someone mentioned earlier the club should not be penalised – I accept that, but what about me? The club have reduced admission prices in the past, and no doubt will again. The club have let ST holders “take a friend” for free in the past, and no doubt will again. All these things, devalue the ST. I appreciate the club do this to try and get some much needed extra bodies through the gate, but when was the last time a season ticket holder actually benefited from being a season ticket holder? Getting a ticket for Stranraer away? (however long ago that was?!!?!?) Reduced admission for certain games / bring a friend for free / live games on tv – I’ll probably still see the Well as much next season as this one but will have more money in my pocket. Guy in my work is a season ticket holder at Celtic Park - they are due to play AZ Alkmar in a friendly sometime soon, I was slagging him saying that as they are out of Europe they are only conning the fans to get more money in. He told me that all ST holders are getting in for free as the Celtic board owe them a game from not getting a cup game at home on the season ticket. Fair play to the Celtic board I think. Giving the season ticket holders something back. We dont get friendlies any more, that privledge got removed.
  11. i'm unsure about this one. i'd obviously be delighted with a win but more than any other team i think the pitch will be more "appealing" to Killie. not exactly reknown for their classy footballing skills, route 1 could be an option that may pay off for them. i think in both games, we've done well to handle Kyle, so fingers crossed tomorrow igoes the same way i'm not as confident as other posters, but hopefully i will be eating my words by FT tomorrow

    Aberdeen

absolutely delighted after that result today, thoroughly deserved the win and everyone in C&A played well. special mention to Craggs, Ruddy and JOB - was hoping big John could've got a hattrick! thought Jennings had a good game, looked composed apart from any time he got in a position to get a shot away. dont want to mention too much about him, as there is another thread for it, but he defo deserves to keep his place in the team and a shot at a regular game. When Coke comes back, i'd like to see him replace Forbes/Fizzy. Shagger Brown had us well organised today. We looked difficult to break down - 1 goal conceded in 5 games - not bad at all considering we shipped 6 in one game not so long ago/ Craggs celebration at the end summed it up - i love it when he does that!! stewards were absoultely bawbags - female super trouper and baldy seemed to have a field day. so mark mcgheesy!!
  13. can the club give us any update with this? whats the latest? do they know anything that we dont? temperatures are baltic outside, "sitting" in those temperatures obviously isnt ideal and the A9 is probably the worst "main" road in Scotland. I really really want to go, i cant remember the last time i missed the 3rd/4th round of the cup but with that road, distance to travel, the temperatures and other factors - i dont know what to do. after the Inverurie farce, i would rather they made the call early
  14. thats the most rediculous thing i've read in a while. are you being serious or did you just want someone like me to react?

    Season Ticket

in what way do you mean "seat changed"???? to another stand? or just another seat in the same stand? if its another seat in the same stand, i dont see why you should even bother asking them - we never sell out, and there are always plenty of seats available. I've had a season ticket for the East Stand since it opened, and apart from the first few years, I've never since sat in my season ticket seat and I've never had a problem. needless to say, if you want to do things officially and properly, I dont think it would be a problem
  16. i think this may have come up before, but i was wondering................ over the last 10-15 years we've done "not too bad" against them, so i'm hopeful for tomorrow is there a "league" that would show how everyone else has done against them in that period?? surely we must be up there. I'm guessing Hearts and Hibs have done not too bad either
  17. what i dont understand is how come the police aren't happy to police a split stand, but they are quite happy to let all fans walk right into each other as soon as they leave the stadium??? why are they not held back??? we've been held back at their patch plenty of times ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">

    Paul Mcgrillen

i'm with ML1 too the only criticism if any i have is that the club never made a statement whether there would be one or not. i'll also join ML1 with the tin hat on and say that - i think there are too many minute silences/applauses these days. in certain circumstances, i think its totally appropriate but sometimes its beyond a joke
  19. after hearing what i heard at the weekend, it wouldnt surprise me if he was dropped if i was the manager, i'd have dropped him however, i do think he's an important part of the squad. what does please me though is Gannon has now showed that hammell isn't irreplaceable. i'm a fan of Hammell, although I do think the last few seasons, he's had it easy and has no competition
  20. are all the rounds immediately round the ground not closed for x amount of time after the game now??? so if you parked in the health centre, you wouldn't be able to get out as the road is policed and no cars are allowed to move until the road is clear of pedestrians - so you'd be waiting a while failing that - park where fatcalf parks, altho you do normally have to be there early as it too fills up quickly there are plenty of spaces round FP, my choice is the Civic. I always seem to get space there
  21. i agree with you, we had a great support y'day and at some points very vocal too. but i think a lot of folk went for the novelty factor (first game of the season, first game up there in a while, we've done well in the europa games) That wont be the crowd for every away game (sadly) and thats purely down to the cost its been an ongoing arguement for years now, but it wont change and we're the ones that'll suffer
  22. for the first time in 19 years, i havent renewed my season ticket. . i went along today, purely cos it was the first game of the season and i will continue to pick and choose what games i go to. home and away from what i gather, we cant complain about anything. we will be charging away fans £22 so today was actually a "cheaper" day out although still way too expensive
  23. apparently they only took 250-300 when they played Cardiff a few weeks back, they only took 1000 now for a club with a fanbase of over 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 - to me that isnt very good. do giros still run in the pre season?!?!
  24. all the best Shug - anyone would be crazy to turn that money down(unless you are the elite few) i also thought he was class the first season then drifted out of it in the second. however, i'm not making excuses, be he was a FOOTBALLER, someone who thrived with theball at his feet. Last season we just couldnt do that - we didnt and couldnt play football. I've heard two stories about Shug, one that he wasnt offered a new contract with us - if he was, he would probably have signed and the other that he was offered a contract, but his pay rise was £50 a week
