ok ok.......you got me, but I sold myself short what i was meaning was that for a club like Motherwell, surely the paying public pay more per season, that what we recieve from Sky - therefore, surely we are more important or, if that one isnt clear either if Motherwell could only recieve payment from one source, either fans OR tv - who gives them more money?
-
keep the discussion going! and those who choose not to go to, tell us why I would like someone from the club to see as many disgruntled fans as possible on this thread its not "having a go" - its making them realise that times are tough - financially. We have 3 away games that month After talking to one of my mates, he said that someone from the club may reply - but we'll get a standard reply, saying they know its tough, and we understand, but your support means the world to us and TV money is important to the club I get all that........but surely the people paying at the gate are important? Surely we give you more money than TV does??
-
Sparra - i totally agree with you I've never been one for going to JDs or the Electric, but maybe someone from the club should miss the game and go to these pubs and see how many folk are in there, giving their hard earned cash to the boozer rather than to the Well I've already spoke to Jay to see what his plans are - and he will be doing the same as you. How many others will be the same? How many folk will just sit in the house and watch it? How many folk might think - hey its going to cost me £50 (and the rest) to go to Tannadice, but I'd rather keep my money and save it for a trip to the Emirates two weeks later???
-
started a new thread, to make this one more visible to club officials another Sunday trip to Dundee, with another terrible 115 KO the club benefit financially from TV revenue so I would like to see the club do all they can to encourage folk to go both teams have to agree admission prices - so what do we think is acceptable? Another £15 - just like Dundee and Stranraer? £5 or £8 for concessions? SMc touched on it in his email after the Stranraer game - it isnt cheap to travel, petrol prices are rocketing I'll give the club the benefit of the doubt in that there wasnt much time between the Stranraer/Stenny game, and thats why they never attempted to put on some buses. Although I did hear through the grapevine that they contacted a bus company and were told that supporters had already booked it themselves. So with over a month until this game is due to be played.............get it sorted early and let people know the cost involved, offer an incentive and encourage folk to travel and support the team. There are already folk on other thread saying that they wont be going - so you need to try your best and change their minds. Offer free buses, offer "reasonable" priced tickets. (£15 for Dundee, £15 for Stranraer, £15 for Hampden - people travelled in reasonable numbers) We have 3 games scheduled for March - ALL AWAY from home Show the fans that you care what we think - we want to support our club - but its financially very difficult
-
delighted.......lets hope he can grab us a few goals what i will say though, is we CANT judge him, if he is only going to get 5mins here, 10mins there - so lets hope he can get his fitness up and gets a good run out against Accies and St Midden - because we need to win those games
-
did you mean that?

I noticed that, but I think they are in on it!!! They are blaming the wee team so we dont get into too much bother!

Apparently we were interested in Suarez, Torres, Carrol, Keane, Santa Cruz but we just missed out on them. Some people need to get a f***ing grip, and take a reality test. For weeks and weeks, folk moaned about getting someone in. We now(potentially) have someone in – and you still moan. Even if we had signed any of the above, people would still moan. We can’t afford to BUY anyone. Every single club in the country wants to keep someone who puts the ball in the net, there are not going to give them away. We had wages available, and from what I hear, McCall was told to use them. He wasn’t going to get a pat on the back for not using them and saving us some money

get them looked out boys!! open air stadium - will look good cigarettes - actual burning cigarettes - dont be fooled, the goverment love them! Can you imagine the outcry if everyone stopped smoking tomorrow??

the majority of people on here need to be realistic since the beginning of Jan - SMc knew and we all knew, that we needed a striker he tried to get folk in - he failed. It happens, and it wont be the last time it happens to Motherwell FC. but we NEED a striker, what we have just now, isnt working. We have Murphy and Sutton - Casagolda and McHugh and later down the pecking order we have Smith. Now people are continually going crazy about us going for Jeffers. His goal ratio is shite, couldn't score in a brothel blah blah blah. Now, show me Casagolda's goal record this season, show me McHugh's, show me Smith's????? oh hold on, Casagolda has an amazing goal scoring ratio in 2nd tier of Belgian football (or wherever he came from) and look how he has turned out. I like McHugh, think he has the build of Skippy, and in the previous european game, he showed nice touches - but when he has been given a chance - he's not done anything either from what other posters have said, the money is there to be spent on wages - from now until the end of the season. Not as someone mentioned earlier to tie players up on longer contracts (although it would be nice) Who else can we get - realistically? Who wants to come? If the money is there to be spent, spend it. We wont see more money available next season as we havent spent it just now. Signing him, or anyone, is worth a punt if they can bolster the squad and get us to Hampden again Surely its worth the risk? or are we better asking Paul Keegan to come back for a few months

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...own/9383013.stm http://sport.scotsman.com/football/Willie-...r-FA.6707633.jp Dunfermline sell a player for £150k (apparently what we got for Reynolds) and this guy too, only had 4 months left on his contract Where are we going wrong? Or are we in the same bracket as Dunfermline financially?
-
so to go to a St Mirren game, you go to the Stranraer ticket office?!?!?!
-
what about Velicka? I have my reservations though......... he was a hit at Hearts, and thats what got him his move to Rangers, but then punted out to Norway, then to Aberdeen - and he hasnt really done anything wages could be a stumbling block - but from what I remember when he was at Hearts, he knows where the goal is its just frustrating, that this is the only real piece of the jigsaw left IMO - we will create chances, and we do create chances..........Porter scored, Lukas scored, Blackman scored is it that, no one wants to come to us???? is that why we have problems? and as for the Webster rumour, I have heard that one too. Although the I think the Hearts fans have a longer memory than Jefferies! is it not the same thing with McNaughton?!?!?!
-
i'd be very happy with that team, although I cant see it happening i'd also like to try and find a place for Page............but where?what about Gunning?
-
footballers are different to us normal plebs - I mean, heaven forbid they should have to do some work breakfast made for them, lunch made for them, clothes and kit washed and ironed for them, boots cleaned for them - work half a day, day off here and get paid handsomely for it Can we not remember Calum Elliot moaning that he had "long" days?

I second this........... I dont doubt that people are benefiting from the work that you guys do, but thats not what the OP is asking (or how I'm interpreting it) of those 80 who hav achieved that qualification - how many of them have put back into MFC? or bought a ticket for the semi final? of those fit fans - how many............... from the community coaching - how many go the games (or make their parents take them)?? rather than getting to go for free? For all the hard work and effort that you guys do to help those in the community - are the community coming out to help the Well??? I think not and I think thats where welshman is coming from
-
get their early and take your seat (on the grass verge) lloks like the advice that will be given looking forward this game, and hopefully a repeat of the last time were there in the cup
-
No replies needed - just wanted to share this........ Since Faddy rifled past Landreau from 40 yards in the Parc des France causing Peter Martin to blow his load, nobody’s telling me winning a football match is impossible!

do you know why? I do agree though, I would take him, even if its only 6 months and we sell it to him that its another chance to seal his move back to England in the summer Although, he's short, he's a strong player and has scored a few goals in the SPL - however, i think he'd be a better player with Sutton that he would be with Murphy. Could we afford his wage demands? Dundee Utd appear to pay decent money F**k it, back to McGhee's 433 - play them all - Sutton, Murphy and Cadamateri!!
