  1. I really really hate it when people talk about League 1 being a 'better standard of football' because it's just not true. Some teams with bigger crowds and more money doesn't automatically mean better players and a better standard of football. Some of the teams kicking about the Championship are torture never mind League 1! The difference though, is that the media talk up the football down there and people just seem to believe it, where as up here the media / players / managers take every opportunity to tell us how bad Scottish football is!
  2. The visa involves giving them an english tenner when you land in Turkey...

    New Season

As far as centre mid goes I'd probably have Hateley way down the list behind Lasley, Law, Carswell and even Page. Can't believe anyone who's seen him play in the middle still believes he can do a job there.
  4. Aye but since I won't know what days I need until the 20th July I'd have needed to book 7 or 8 days holiday to guarantee I had the time off (days I'll need for the group stages of some competition hopefully!). Had the 2 weeks down as provisional at my current job and was just gonna let them know what days I needed when the draw was made.

    New Season

As it stands why not go with: Randolph Saunders Hutchison Page Hammell Hateley Law Lasley Murphy Ojamaa Higdon Still hopeful we'd add a centre half and centre mid to that though.
  6. Was planning on going regardless but starting a new job 30th July so doubt I'll get time off in my first 2 weeks, although if it does transpire that it's Brugge I'll certainly try my hardest to be there. I better be able to make the Europa League or I'll be gutted!
  7. It's a bit strange that McCall is describing Saunders as a right-back yet he's looking at signing this Ramsden guy who's natural position is apparently right-back!
  8. The only word to describe this is... nonsense
  9. Aye god knows we wouldn't want to be seen to be supporting our club!
  10. If true then the next move for Green could be to buy the soon to be defunct Kilmarnock, change the name and move them along to Ibrox ala Clydebank / Airdrie...
  11. At £30 / £15 we'll probably get our usual average attendance, at £15 / £10 we'd probably double it... I know which one I'd prefer. The ideal situation of course is we charge £30 / £15 and get 14,000 adults turning up and leaving the weans at home!
  12. That article does raise some good points which highlight how rushed and ill-though-out the whole document is. How stupid do they think Scottish football fans are?!
  13. I don't buy into this patter of "this is about the future of Motherwell" because in my opinion it's about the future of Scottish football. The reason we find ourselves in this mess where the SPL is built on greed and many clubs run on unsustainable business models is because too many teams have taken decisions based on what they believe are their "best interests". As much as I hate both the Ex Firm, this stopped being about Rangers or any other club a while ago and is now about fans uniting to try to preserve some sort of fairness and equality in our national sport.
  14. And the thought of Hateley in the middle gives me a similar feeling. Law moving into the centre works as a stop-gap type solution but wouldn't want it being a permanent thing.
  15. I really, really, really, really, really hope not! Maybe there's an imminent bid from a top Premiership team for Hateley?
  16. If everyone adopts your attitude then no... If people try to portray the club in a positive light and encourage (force ) friends / family along then why can't we see a modest increase?
  17. I don't think anyone is expecting us to suddenly see 8,000 / 9,000 average attendance at Fir Park but the point is to try and help if you can by taking a positive approach rather than accept nothing will ever change without even trying. An increase on the average attendance of 200 would pay a squad players wage so every little helps surely?
  18. Just like Hammell and Lasley were shodows of the players that left and have destroyed their hero status? Or even Phil O'Donnell? Pretty sure he was a great asset when he came back despite fitness issues.
  19. A straight no vote from the board wouldn't have given them as much positive PR with the fans as the ballot idea has. Not to mention possibly convincing more people to sign up for the Well Society off the back of it. Even if they had decided to vote no already this is a clever / more beneficial way of doing it.
  20. Surely the situation is that currently there are 11 football clubs in the SPL and so there is a space in the league which Sevco have applied to fill with a brand new football club? Therefore, you either accept this brand new team or you reject it... I doubt there is any grounds for a legal challenge because you applied for something and it was rejected! The questions regarding SPL2 / where Sevco's new football club plays is an issue which may or may not arise and so cannot be considered when voting. As I don't think there is any way of actually knowing how budgets will be affected by a no vote, I am unsure how the club can tell you how many employees we will need to cut. Finally, the chance to change the voting structure is permanently there... all it requires is 11 clubs to agree on the change which is much more likely with one half of the OF gone. Basically all your questions appear to be regarding negative implications for a no vote much in the same way the media has spun things. Sometimes in life you have to take a leap of faith and go with something you personally believe in rather than being swayed by biased reporting...
  21. Unless a no vote would definitely mean our club would be in administration / liquidated I doubt anyone would jump from the no camp to the yes camp... There won't be any facts in the documnet received anyway... much like the ridiculous Rangers CVA there are far too many ifs, buts and maybes invloved... the negatives will be weighted towards the worst case scenarios and the positives will be played down so that people aren't overly optimistic. The no camp has never been about financial facts and figures anyway as far as I'm aware.
  22. Surely the 'old' Rangers don't still have players? Their wages would be paid by the company not the football club and as such the contract would be with them... this company no longer exists so how can they have a contract? Also, if the current Rangers have absolutely no assets how can they possibly meet the SPL rules regarding stadiums etc. which have seen clubs miss out on promotion on more than one occasion? Therefore, as of now they should be chucked out the SPL and be unable to have a say in it.
  23. I'm pretty sure that Rangers FC do not exist... the company that owned them has been liquidated and as such they have no players contracted to them and their assets have been sold to 'The Rangers' for £5.5 million. Now the issue is that 'The Rangers' want to form a football club and have applied to play in the SPL... something that has never been heard of before. That's my understanding anyway but what I'm not sure of is how there can possibly be a Rangers vote included when the clubs meet if they do not currently exist?!
  24. Still doesn't change the fact that the guy is a fud and has been spouting nonsense defending 'Tha Rainjurs' on a regular basis throughout all this.
  25. Pretty sure in the CVA document it mentioned HMRC as a creditor with the figure shown as TBC* *Currently owed around the 20 million quid mark but could increase based on the outcome of the BTC. This is what I found bizarre about the CVA, how can the creditors accept or reject the deal without actually knowing what they'll get for it?! That would make me think that it'll get rejected but since all they need is HMRC and Ticketus agreeing to it you never know! Regarding the alternative mentioned in the document where they are liquidated and Charles Green acquires the assets for 5.5 million, is it not strange that this figure is the same as the administrators fees (so they get paid and everyone else gets nothing) and seems alot less than the actual value of the assets? Why not liquidate them and pass ownership of the assets to the creditors who can then lease back the stadium / training facilities to any NewCo? Don't know the ins and outs of that exactly but it certainly seems like a better deal for them than they're currently getting from a NewCo. I wish I could win one of those ridiculous Euro Millions jackpots, bid 5.6 million for the assets and bulldoze the lot! Creditors still get shafted but the world is a better place!
