  1. Are you sure we are seeded for the third round?

From what I see there will be 42 teams in the third qualifying round and there is no chance we would be in the top 21 sides based on our co-efficient of 6.158, in fact I make it we would be ranked 31st out of the 42 teams.

Wrong mate! There will be 70 teams in the third qualifying round and the winner of our tie will be seeded 34th.

  2. It's not looking good on the sponsor front for the new kit

The team will wear special black strips for the friendly games with the new PUMA kits due to arrive at the end of this week!

The kits, which will only be worn during the friendly matches, will be sponsored by local business ABR Roofing!

  3. Apparently we have winger Chris Shuker in on trial according to one of the papers...

Shuker, 28, signed for Tranmere in June 2006. He made 144 appearances, scoring 18 goals. He started only 19 senior games this season, largely because his style was not a natural fit for the 4-3-3 system Parry introduced after replacing John Barnes as manager in October

  4. Despite what I said earlier we won't be able to find out until after the First Round Draw,.

    Correct.

The 80 teams involved in the second qualifying round are divided into eight groups of ten, each containing five seeded and five unseeded teams. The draw follows the same procedure as the first qualifying round, with the groupings to be confirmed after the draw for the first qualifying round.

  5. Might be wrong but I don't think there are pots this season which is a change from previous draws. This time it is down to seeds v non seeds. Bangor would mean a nice wee return to Wales which would result in a good travelling support as easy to get to and back from North Wales in a day if need be.

    Yep your wrong mate.

    taken from the UEFA website.

    Draw procedure

For the first qualifying round equal numbers of seeded and unseeded teams have been allocated to five groups in accordance with rankings established at the beginning of the season – four of ten teams and one of 12. For each group, balls containing seeded teams will be placed in one bowl and unseeded teams in another. A ball from each will be placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, and the first team drawn will play its first match at home. Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.

containing five seeded and five unseeded teams. The draw follows the same procedure as the first qualifying round.

In the Europa League qualifying rounds the teams will be no longer be divided into regional groups (as used previously in the UEFA Cup).

  6. Draw procedure

When then do they put the teams we could get into the various pots. I assume it needs to be a reasonable time ahead of the actual draw???

IIRC it was done last year on the morning of the draw.

  7. So, so reassured.

Delighted that the club are talking about a new training facility. I know that dalziel is nae bad, but having a properly top quality training facility would be great for the club and would be far more important for me than a new ground.

They are trying to tie up a deal to use the new Ravenscraig training complex

  8. Texaco Cup 1970-1971 : Semi-Final Second Leg Wednesday 3rd March 1971

Check out the crowd, the atmosphere and the park at this never to be forgotten game against the FHW. I was sixteen at the time and it was only my second season following the 'Well'

If my memory servers me right the corner when they equalized in injury time was never a corner and a few heads got bashed before, during, and after the game. One of the reasons why I'll always hate the FHW.

The one consolation is they got beat in the Final
