  1. Stokes appears to be on Celtic's radar.

Clarkson was all the chat at my work in Edinburgh yesterday.

    Can't see it happening myself.

Heard talk of Clarky also yesterday, but it was Jambos I'd heard and not Hibs.

  2. Would it be fair to compare Forbes to Charlie Adam.

Adam always was good with the dead ball but often struggled in the SPL due to a lack of pace especially when played wide left at Rangers. Look at him now a £5m rated player but still has no pace.

I think Forbes has potential and could improve stamina wise but don't think he'll be a wide left player with pace to hit on the break. I see him more as part of a centre mid 3 to spray the ball about and create.

If anything the World Cup has re-inforced that 4-4-2 is dead.

How about going 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 with Las, Jenn & Forbes in the middle with Humph wide right, Murph wide left and Sutton through the middle (obviously assuming the squad doesn't have an injection of better talent before the Europa game).

  3. Depends on Ross wage demands but he could do a short term job while we see if this young lad develops.

Does this also suggest that Reynolds won't be replaced if / when he goes as we will have Saunders, Hutch, Page, Craggs and the young cypriot who could play in the middle?

  4. Suggests we are maybe taking a similar approach as Hibs and Utd, tie youngsters to long enough deals to make some money if they do well.

3 years is a great deal!

  5. Another useful rule of thumb is that if we know who the player is, MFC probably can't afford him.

To me that sums up our transfer policy!

No point suggesting or guessing as we will be way wide of the mark. At this time last year who would have suggested Ruddy, Coke, Jennings, Hatley or big Juke!

  6. For me last night because it meant something to our club. Skippy Sunday was a high but didn't really mean anything to the outcome of our season.

If that is the last goal big Duke scores at Fir Park - what a memory!

  7. What was the interest rate on it?

To me that's the interesting point as from memory the rates with the zebra mob were steep - more than your standard credit card charges, where as the half season deal was much more affordable.

Surely all SPL clubs should be pushing for a discounted rate via the Clydesdale Bank. That way the clubs still get the money up front, the bank make some money off the interest charged, the SPL smells of roses as for once fans aren't totally ripped off!

  8. Much as the pitch is a mess, it's the same for both sides and given it's our home pitch you could argue that we should know how to deal with it better.

I never saw Utd taking any chances on the pitch like Fraser did on a few occasions.

How many of wannabes would have given their right arm for a chance to play in the stadium no matter what the pitch was like.

They should have been able to deal with it and didn't. I would say the third goal owed more to the fact that Humphrey isn't a right back than to the pitch (ie, he shouldn't have been bloody playing there in the first place!!)

  9. Ross di the right thing and exactly what he should have. From where I was in the Cooper I though Craggs effort was going wide and in the split second that Forbes has making sure was his only option.

Officials got it so wrong so why not come out and label him as STUPID & SELFISH!!!

  10. Like many others I thought Las, Craggs & O'Brien had good games. But for me it was Jennings his best display yet in a 'Well jersey and showed the fighting spirit and lack of respect you need against the old firm.

Don't think and SPL midfield would have had as much possesion against Rangers in any game this season as we did last night.
