But he was 'in control' of his challenge. Both feet off the ground? Yes, but both feet are off the ground when you run.Not disagreeing with your main point, but, not sure Lucas should have gone? Behave yourself.
The rules are you have to be controlled in the tackle. Winning the ball is irrelevant - which is a poor rule to be fair & the problem is further compounded by poor interpretation of the rules by those paid handsomely to handle these situations.
Nobody else feel the second today was offside? I was directly in line & Heneghan took the high line perfectly for me & Goncalves was offside when the ball was played through. No claim by hand in the air & no protest after the goal may suggest different.
How many Hearts players were demanding a red? Not important until you suggest he wasn't offside because we never claimed for it.
And, IMO, there is no way Lucas should have been off. In your oppinion, what did he do ?

If we appeal, can McDonald play?

Maybe it was drummed in their heads and that is why he was so gutted.

On the rules. If Lasley headers the ball forward near the 18 yard 'D',
(a) is the guy near the corner flag offside?
(b) WTF!
© did I miss something five minutes earlier?

Centre half's fault all the way. As the last man you take no chances but, I feel, people are looking to blame Samson for 'mistakes'.

Right. Today's 'pass the time and start a fight' job is pick a team using them and the players we have now.

As long as he is in space, and making himself available, then that is how Paul Lambert got himself a EC winners medal.Contrary to other posters I'm not sure what McHugh offers apart from 5 yard square passes. Maybe we will see against better opposition.
