  1. And Newcastle come back from 4-0 down..... Sorry, but TOON TOON BLACK AND WHITE ARMY!!
  2. Terry Butcher was the "he" in question I'm sure there, not Jeffers......
  3. 4-4-2 I'd imagine...... No shots on target so far, but the manager signing a striker is a negative?
  4. Good to see that the tradition of getting straight onto the back of new signings is continuing, and no doubt yet again the preconceived opinions will not be shifted regardless of performances.
  5. I'd say 4-3-3 with Humphrey and Jones out wide supplying crosses for Sutton.
  6. Gunning was signed to provide cover at left back, so when the first choice left back is out......
  7. So why was nothing done about the flares from both sets of fans on Sunday? No matter your opinion on flares, that's a clear inconsistency.....
  8. Or alternatively, we have absolutely no idea what sort of terms he may ask for.
  9. No option for both. We need another striker to supplement what we have, not a one in and one out scenario.
  10. Or Jim O'Brien's view - and I'll base that entirely on a conversation I overheard between the players reported to have complained about Gannon. As well as that, a member of the backroom staff who basically backed up the theory of the senior players expressing their concerns about Gannon to Boyle. He was also glad to see the back of Gannon to be fair though....
  11. That would be an announcement that would take a lot of folk by surprise!!
  12. He left a squad of players. Take away his signings, and the youngsters he blooded, and there wasn't much of a squad for Brown to work with. The one year contracts were a deliberate strategy to see how the players performed, and the contracts would have been renewed if club and player wanted to renew them, indeed only one of Gannon's permanent signings left. Most loan deals are for 6 months initially, so why the criticism for 6 month loan deals? Amazing how many people can state with absolute certainty what would have happened had Gannon stayed with regards to the team being relegated and players leaving. He left. We'll never actually know one way or the other.
  13. Terry Butcher wasn't slow to let the players know where they stood either on occasion by the way, Richie Foran can vouch for that......
  14. His phone ringing off the hook, and no signings coming out of it isn't necessarily something that should herald widespread panic.... Agents will ring several managers trying to move on their clients, it could simply be that several other managers also received the same calls but were in a position to offer higher wages, or that the majority of the players would have covered positions that weren't deemed to be a priority for Motherwell. Also, 5 points clear in third - it's extremely harsh to pin the blame for that no longer being the case on Stuart McCall, the vast majority of the results that ended that weren't on his watch.
  15. And the progression of some of the younger players stalled somewhat - you can argue the benefits and problems from both reigns really.
  16. Aye, I'm sure that would be it!!
  17. Did you see Alan Gow's performance at the weekend? Man City's defence struggled to handle him, but aye he's pish.
  18. No, and he wasn't signed to be a first team player. The same way that Hutchinson and Page were signed with the future in mind a few years back....
  19. He's left - why the constant desire to predict what might have happened if he had stayed? But, for what it's worth, a lot of people on here want Craigan dropped and the young players to be given their chance - something Gannon did but yet is viewed by the majority as an error on his part. In my opinion there was a split in the squad, based on the behaviour of the players at Craigan's testimonial race night. I'm not suggesting any fall outs between the players, but those reported to be against Gannon were all drinking, while the youngsters and those playing were all on soft drinks. He had a long term vision for the club, but it didn't come to pass. For me, one of his biggest errors was trying to change too much too soon and the performances eventually suffered. As for him not being liked by the players (some of them) and the other staff at the club - he was employed to get results on the park, not be everyone's best pal. We'll never know if he'd have been a success had he stayed, and 6 months isn't long enough to categorically state that he would have failed either.
  20. Webster to Hearts is a strange one, a lot of bad blood there if I remember correctly. Did he not take the club to court to get his transfer to Wigan?
  21. Correct.... Velicka released by Rangers as well today.
