When even Malpas is in front of you know that there is trouble at ‘steel’ mill. It would appear that the other managers have sussed Robinson’s tactics and our teams obvious limitations. I like Robinson as a person, however, if we don’t get three points on Saturday it’s time to look for a successor.

I guarantee you that we won't get three points on Saturday....

I'll also guarantee you that we won't lose or draw!:whistling:

  2. On the goal, there is no doubt that McHugh's pass was a very poor one and has pretty much cost us the game. It's a shame because otherwise he was immense, but split second errors can lose games. TV evidence shows that Carson got the ball first though and was then caught by Ikpeazu, so technically the goal shouldn't have stood. It's even more galling when the replays show Ikpeazu has led with the studs, and given we've seen players sent off for less he was very fortunate that it was almost impossible to spot at full pace.

Hearts then proceeded to employ every dirty, underhand trick in the book to run the clock down for the last hour. Dunne must have feigned injury at least 4 times, to then get straight back up and sprint back into position. Souttar's simulation at the end was ridiculous, and the linesman couldn't flag quickly enough despite having a clear view of a player go down when his opponent was at least 6 feet away. Naismith kicking through Aldred's ankle and then accusing Aldred of cheating was peak Naismith as well.

The seats and the f****n blood chants on the way out just confirmed that the club and fans have now gone full Rangers. Hopefully someone puts them back in their place soon.

  3. Gunnar Nielsen has the same physique as the new man, yet he doesn't bully strikers or command his area particularly better than Dan Twardzik so it doesn't automatically follow that Long will either.

Also Twardzik is 6 foot tall, he's not a midget by any stretch of the imagination!

  4. Can't agree - Pearson was actually a very potent attacking force against Dundee Utd so I think he'll add something in the way of goals.

Should have had a penalty, set up Sutton for what was initially given as a goal and was unlucky not to score himself. He also linked up well with Erwin so I'm encouraged that he can create chances...

  5. Hasn't looked out of place in the worst Motherwell team ever?

I'm all for giving him a run but I would also like some more cover.

    How quickly people forget...

The majority of that team were heavily involved in getting the club to a record points total last season.

They may be on a very poor run of form just now, but is it not slightly harsh to refer to them as the worst team ever? The record points total is in the record books afer all, when folk look back how will they tie up the claims the the men who did that were regarded as the worst team ever?!

  6. Just been chatting to work colleague (St. Johnstone fan) and as well as discussing our shit form she mentioned Pearson returning is a good signing for us. Then she added that Motherwell have a habit of bringing former players back to the club. Never really thought about it before, but we do! Can think of a good who who have had two spells in my 30years alone.

Anyway, thought I'd post it here and see if we can add to the list and discuss who was the best "resigning"/who would you like to have back, etc, etc. Anything to bring a bit of a distraction on here with the current doom and gloom!

    Ones I can think of:

    Stephen Pearson

    James McFadden

    Keith Lasley

    Stevie Hammell

    Phil O'Donnell

    Brian McClair

    John Sutton

    Henrik Ojamaa

    Gunnar Neilson

    Stephen Hughes

    Stephen Craigan

    Alex Burns

    George Burley (?)

    Fraser Wishart

    Gregor Steven (?)

    Anymore?

McFadden returning probably caused me the greatest level of excitement, but probably best returning servant has to be Lasley or Hammell.

    Fraser Kerr

    Scott Leitch

    Dan Twardzik

    All left and came back...

Craigan, O'Donnell, Lasley and Hammell all tremendous when they came back.

I suspect that James McFadden, while he wasn't the same player, had a positive impact on the squad last season as you could see him talking players through games.

  7. Nope I said don't know how true it is. Just throwing it out there to see if anyone else had heard any rumblings of discontent . There may be nothing in it , but this is a public forum and I'm only putting it up for discussion

Was more in response to the fact that with each passing reply this statement was quickly becoming fact.

For what it's worth, I've heard the polar opposite from a squad member, but then that may just be diplomacy at play.

  8. I thought it would be more unlikely that we'd sign ex players under Baraclough, but if Pearson is a player that he's seen play down south and rates then it's maybe coincidence he's an ex player rather than a lazy signing...

Also, if the players he identifies as being the best available to dig us out this mess sign up, then it doesn't matter whether they've been at the club before or not....

  9. Surely we won't sign a 5 ft 10 goalie as our first choice keeper. Surely we won't give out two year deals to injury prone defenders in their 30s. Surely we won't sign a Conference North right back and try to play him up front.

There is no potential signing daft enough to rule out these days.

Ah, making up "facts" to suit your agenda... We didn't sign a 5ft 10 goalie so you can tick that one off...

Maybe you should get in touch with the club and offer them the benefits of your 20/20 hindsight in making decisions as well.

  10. I saw a stat recently that showed that Dan Twardzik had faced the most shots in the top flight by some distance, he also had the highest save percentage.

I can't find it now at work, but it stands to reason that if the outfield players allow the opposition to fire shots at our keeper continually that something is going to give eventually....

He may not be the best keeper we've ever had, but he's getting hung out to dry every week at the moment and in my opinion he's saved us from more pastings that he's been culpible for.

  11. So many posts saying McManus is playing with an injury and has been for a while. Beggars the question why is he playing at all then? Even if it's a niggle, surely better to get treated and back to full fitness.

Perhaps he's not as uninterested and uncommitted as folk are making out?

You can argue that it's maybe best to get treatment if it's hampering his performances of course, but if the manager is asking him to play through injury and agreeing then he deserves some credit for that at least....

  12. Think a change of keeper is a priority, The 3rd and 4th goal on Saturday wouldn't have been out of place in BB football, there was no pressure on him and he's still managed to set Dundee up with chances

Haven't criticised Dan prior to this but we Need a keeper to come off his line and clear everything

Twardzik prevented an absolute pasting on Saturday - yes, he was at fault for 2 goals but he also pulled off numerous vital stops.

As for a keeper who will clear out everything? Gunnar Nielsen has the bulk and physique to do just that but comes out less often that Twardzik.

You are then onto untried young keepers and I'm not sure that is constructive in the current climate.

Onto the game, I'll take any sort of win here. An early goal would be vital for us, if Killie get an early goal though I can see the 3 points going back to Ayrshire.

  13. Have to say when we're Shite this forum is brill. BLACK AND MARSHALL OUT. Scott Leitch can leave also we need BIG changes our team is feckin stagnant.

Scott Leitch is a year into a job as head of youth development and has NO INVOLVEMENT whatsoever in the first team.

That comment is as BIZZARE as your posting style.

What i'd do with Vigours is run his ARSE off at training all week. If he could actually run he's technically not bad but he's a lazy c---. <_>

Your complete inability to spell the names of most of our players has convinced that your football opinion is worth taking note of.

It's Vigurs, as it has been every day of his life.

As for calling him lazy, well that's just lazy rehashing of a popular view amongst his detractors. The guy is always looking for the ball and is then faced with a static set of team mates.

The fact that a defender who was culpable for the goal yesterday and then got himself sent off was given a standing ovation as he departed, while a midfielder who never hid and was at least trying to make something happen was hounded routinely says it all for me...

  15. Didn't see the Steven McManus interview in which he said that Motherwell know of Utd weaknesses. . That's riled their manager and i've no doubt that'll be HAMMERED home to them before kick off. Did i say HAMMERED yes that's what we'll get by at least 3. Ramsden for a red card looks a nightmare prospect as well.

Personally I'd rather the players came out and said that they had no idea how to handle their opponents and were fully expecting to get hammered...

What a ridiculous thing to complain about.

And Ramsden for a red card? Any other wild predictions based on nothing to share?

  16. Well, if the players turn up with the same defeatist attitude as most on here then a defeat is inevitable.

Folk accusing the players of giving up when that's exactly what the fans seem to be doing is a bit bizarre.

2-1 Motherwell tomorrow, this team CAN play and CAN beat United again.
