Our chairman has been quoted today as saying:

“He inspired us with not only his short-term plans to reshape the squad and adapt the style, but his medium to long-term vision around a fully integrated club and we felt this matched how we see the future of the club.”

Exactly wtf does “fully integrated club”mean?! :dontknow:

It means no separation and a route to the 1st team for academy players, coaches will work closer with 1st team, maybe even training will be joint

He’s now publicly admitted that there was a rift between himself and Alexander without really divulging what caused it.  Whatever the reason, Alexander felt it necessary to exclude O'Donnell thereafter from his starting 11.

He called a meeting with the players and Alexander did not like it.

TBF though the guy's comment was targeting a posters comment on how "we have one of the worst supports in football", which is an absolutely wild opinion IMO, yes we have arseholes in our support but considering the regular behaviour of the Old Firm and some of the behaviour of Aberdeen, Hibs and St Mirren fans on their respective visits to Fir Park last season we are no where near being the worst in our own country.

One of the worst for berating mistakes and players instantly, it goes from 0-10 very quickly, no one is questioning whether we have arseholes in our support, we have a reputation for getting on the team's back quickly

We do have an element whose behaviour is embarrassing and can be toxic but you have an element like that at every club.

We need an appointment that can really get the fans on board. I don't think someone like say Tommy Wright is going to get the fans excited and thankfully the Robbo one looked like a non story.

I would say, when fans of other clubs comment on the state of our home fans berating the team you have a bigger problem than an element like that.

Not sure I understand this comment.  Unless everyone is lying most Managers and players I recall have said this is a very stable club with a supportive Board.

Finances tend to dictate overall and we simply don’t have the budget to get the better or best Managers or players.

The reality is that as a result most of the players we bring to the club will not be a Moult, Kipre, Marv Johnson. Probably one in 7-10 players will have that impact or probably even lower odds.

We have one of the worst supports in football, no patience and one of the most toxic.

I'd hate to see us get a reputation in the game as a place where players and managers actively avoid unless they have no other option.

Unfortunately we've had that rep for years

I’ve not read the Liam Kelly interview but he’s absolutely right, we have one of the angriest most aggressive most confrontational fan bases in the country. Grown men standing and screaming until they are blue in the face at anything they can justify. The ref, our own players, Alexander, even each other in the stands. It can be horrible to be in and around.

Just look at the reaction since it’s been posted, “stfu”, “get to fuck”, “just focus on St Mirren” etc etc. He’s completely right.

Edit - just to be clear I’m all for shouting and raising your voice and what not when merited, but it is a million miles too far so often.

I have mates that aren't satisfied when we win, sitting in the pub afterwards dissecting every player's performance as 'pish', one got banned for being negative :D

At this point it wouldn't surprise me. Unless things change drastically it'll be a long, hard season.

Although I think St Mirren are going to be involved in the relegation battle too.

It's only a battle if you can fight, we're rotten, outside a few draws I don't see many more points coming our way if we don't vastly improve.

  9. I like the confidence that we'll be capable of reaching 10th, I think it's a toss up between us and St Johnstone for relegation, I remember a season, mid 80's we were honking under Bobby Watson and sank like a stone, this feels very similar.

Someone has just pointed out that our colts team beat Sligo Rovers 4 years ago...

Sligo have gone full time since then and obviously improved, we sadly have not, Motherwell were utter dross over 2 legs and have been since December.
All the signings since then have been underwhelming or just rank rotten.
