Going for Slattery again. Partly because of his overall performance, but also because a goal-scoring shot that's so pure the ball doesn't spin is a thing of beauty.

(Or I would, but it won't let me vote).

    Callum Slattery

Possibly one of our finest bits of business back then. If I recall correctly it was the last day of the window too? Jim Paterson moved to Plymouth I think for a 1/4 of a Million and we spent half of that on twice the player of Paterson. No disrespect to Jim Paterson who served us well.

Hammell is well worthy of his place here, I’ll be surprised if his appearance record will ever be broken in my life time. And people of my generation can definitely talk about him in the same way my old mans generation talks about Joe Wark.

Stevie Hammell never played in goals, never played left wing or CF, Joe Wark's feats on the field are somewhat overshadowed by his length of service,  Stevie Hammell doesn't know my father either.

Im double vaccinated and more than happy to take advantage of my status, but that doesnt mean I think others should have their freedoms curtailed because they have taken different decisions than me on their own personal health.

PS. This IS clearly political, but it impacts on our ability to support the club we all love. As long as that is done in a respectful way, theres no reason we shouldnt be discussing it.

I'm sure both of my mates who passed away would have a different outlook on personal decisions to vaccinate.  Always baffles me that putting others at risk is seen as a personal choice.

Unless you are related to Sturgeon I think you are taking this a bit too seriously.

Are you 11? Still got the worst patter on here I see, it's up there with those tubes that *roleplay* conversations.

    Gi'e it a rest

It definitely has, I certainly wouldn’t argue with that.

I was sceptical when Burrows replaced Dempster but I feel that he’s grown into the role and has been good for us overall. He hasn’t got everything right, granted, but I feel like he is doing a good job.

He has benefitted greatly from being eased into the role and terrific mentorship, he gets a solid B- from me so far

Yes I accept that and that’s fair enough.

I was just meaning that with Burrows you know that he’s got the club’s best interests at heart as opposed to say, a Vladimir Romanov type at Hearts, albeit I know he’s probably quite an extreme example.

There's no place for sentiment in business, I know we are a small club, but still one of the top clubs in the country, at times sentiment has cost us in the past.

Yes he’s got some things wrong but that’s part and parcel of the role but to have someone in that position who you know is Motherwell through and through then you know the club is in good hands.

I'd take issue with that statement, give me someone capable of doing the job well, with some personal pride in their career, don't give a fuck who they support, being a fan through and through is meaningless.

Hit it straight at Billy Thomson tbf. Think he just let it in for a laugh.

I do recall a decent effort, might have been in Europe, for long enough my nephew thought McSkimming's 1st name was Pish

Ah, the old" he must be good, he cost a lot of money" gambit. If only it were as simple as that. Anyone for Shaun McSkimming?

My Killie supporting mate still rips me that we signed him for that much money

Watt and Grimmy made the difference.

Got to say it's mainly the previous mgrs signings that are looking good.  Kelly. Lamie. Grimmy, Ohara, Watt were amongst out better players.   Slattery , Amaluzor both have promise but overall its was previous signings that make the backbone of the team.

I mean, it's almost like the new guys are acclimatising is what you're saying
