  1. That was my first game too. Mind you I was very very young at the time. Got the programme of ebay a couple of years ago
  2. Two that spring to mind for me from the late eighties are Gary Fraser and Neil Candlish
  3. Not abuse I liked to think of it as constructive criticism which he took on board and became a Fir Park legend
  4. £10 via paypal should be winging its way to you now
  5. The low league finish though means we will have saved money on win bonuses and league position bonuses at end of year so should free up some cash. No?
  6. I think one of the reasons for originally signing McFadden was the hope that he would increase attendances enough to cover his extra wages but this didn't happen so paying him more than anybody else was just not sustainable. At the end of the day for clubs like Motherwell its all about money and staying within budget.

    Hated Players

In the 80's Walter Kidd used to be the one who wound me up the most but can't really remember why
  8. Just think if we had a world class keeper we could be a top 3 side. Oh wait a minute ......
  9. Oh yes remember it well horrible day the worst for me too
  10. Wouldn't mind Kenneth coming in, seemed like a good no nonsense centre half to me, but only if we do sell Hutchinson first of course
  11. In my opinion we need to look longer term whats the point in finishing higher up the league compared to bringing through possible assets to the club. Look at Dundee Utd they haven't been in the Champions league but they are sitting with some great young players who could be worth a lot of money to the club. Has being in europe brought any benefits to Motherwell ?
  12. In my opinion we should only keep them if there is a possibility of signing them on permanent deals next season if not let them go and play youngsters in their place
  13. Higdon, because its goals that win games
  14. t We still have Lasley, Hammell,Ramsden,McManus and Sutton who are experienced but maybe Kerr Cummings Moore McHugh and Erwin amongst others could benefit from more 1st team action
  15. I would let all players who's contracts are up in January go, and go with our younger players. We may struggle but it would have long term benefits hopefully. As for McFadden if he is out of contract in January he doesn't deserve a new contract I'm afraid to say.
  16. From a financial point of view an artificial pitch makes sense no need for expensive undersoil heating, play more games for less spent on upkeep and no postponements in the winter. For a club like Motherwell it would make sense
  17. We are currently sitting 4th in the league 3pts off 2nd place and 26pts of the bottom I can remember when that would have been considered a brilliant season. I don't support Motherwell because I expect them to win every week, the way some people are going on in here maybe they would be better off supporting Celtic or Rangers. Sure the team is not playing as well as last years team but do people forget the stick Higdon and co took at times over the past couple of seasons ? Fans are entitled to criticise but every now and again they should remember the bad old days, things could always, and frequently have been, worse.
  18. One day you are a peacock next day a feather duster
  19. To me Lee Hollis is a good goalkeeper but needs confidence or at least learn to look confident. He looks nervous and unsure even after he had made some good stops against Killie. After having Randolph in goals who never looked anything but confident it seems to me to that if Hollis looks a little unsure of himself that could lead to a lack of trust with the defence, I fear for him if he makes a mistake and the crowd gets on his back it could really effect him. Hopefully he will keep his place and become a hero to the fans like Randolph and Ruddy were.
  20. As a famous man once said "one day you are a peacock and the next day a feather duster"
  21. Replacement for Humphrey maybe ? http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/news/article/player-availability--kieran-critchley/ Speedy striker Kieran Critchley, who clocked up a time of 10.68 seconds for a 100 meter sprint earlier this year, is keen to try his hand at Scottish football. The 23-year-old from Preston wants to head north after spells in England, Ireland and Malta. Critchley said: “I want to come up to Scotland to train in pre-season and get the chance to show what I can do. I spent 6 years in the Youth Academy at Blackburn Rovers before moving to my home city club Preston North End.” “Since then I have played in England, in the Northern Ireland Premier Division with Glentoran and Floriana FC of the Maltese Premier Division.”
