  1. good News. I might feel a twinge of sympathy when the fuckers get relegated now
  2. BeebGoss Motherwell want veteran right-back Eric Paton, but present club Dundee want Marc Fitzpatrick in exchange. (Daily Express) Motherwell hope to beat St Mirren to the signature of former Plymouth forward Alan Gow, who has been on trial with Krylia Sovetov, but can only afford the 27-year-old if they progress in the Europa League. (Daily Express)
  3. I had read he was speaking to the Midden's and was wondering whether it would be something we'd be interested in if the Quinn money was usable or we got through to the group stages. may be a creative left mid option if he got an injury free run
  4. I seen Leeann at the cashline earlier getting a printoot. said she'd post and let us know as soon as she got the laptop fired up.
  5. Aye Good Stuff Matt - Like i said earlier some performance. obviously in 'the pub' we didn't get the sound of the game but it was a respectable turnoot.
  6. Aye we've had a couple of incidents in recent seasons - we dodged a bullet with the mars bar duo incident - which if I recall was included in the match report - seen the incident maself btw and it was well debated on here. Also lucky up at McDairmid on the opening day last year. we've definitely had a couple of incidents
  7. They shouldn't be throwing anything - but our lads are prone to throwing a mars bar or two so we should really calm the beans and let it go. whether they get fined - or a book of any description thrown at them is immaterial and makes no difference to the game and the result or our prospects for Thursday. yet again. glass houses!
  8. Agreed - magic stuff in the pub. Excellent experience. We shoulda created more chances, taken the early one - yeah I know The ref was shocking - yip But for away performances in Europe - probably only Dortmund comes close. Paul Scholes role model??? nah - i can remember plenty times when his on field behaviour was - less exemplary shall we say. Our boys did fuckin brilliant last night
  9. Look the guys that went to Katowice by bus should be first every time.
  10. The hostility to the ex players is a funny one - they were due what they were due when the courts battened it down and we should ensure as a club we meet those obligations. i don't know the implications to their payments if it's 'dividend' based and we are in a loss making situation. They were very significantly affected at the time - as were a lot of employees, suppliers and club officials. Dark days as many have said. It was the boards doing - they gambled on the TV money and spent money they didn't have ahead of it being in the bank - very similar to what cardiff are doing now. i had drifted away from the 'well at this time, funnily enough, as in my opinion the group of players that were assembled were over-rated, over paid and under performing - on a grand scale. I've been back on board since Butcher took the helm and have by and large been astounded and grateful for what we've achieved (Malpas era aside) I think they're entitled to moan (to an extent) and I think as others have mentioned - the press will give them the opportunity at the drop of a hat - they love having a go at us for either administration or dodging the drop. And to an extent the 'pot calling the kettle black' criticisms have to be accepted to an extent. As a club though - we've weathered that storm and we're through the other side. The administration days are a dark cloud that hangs over everything we do and the way the club is currently run today - is absolutely bolted on to that memory. The administrators management principles have been retained and we live within our means pretty well as far as I can see. So with that in mind - we're through administration and we're running the club on sound principles - we need to chase every pound - whether that's in the form of chasing unpaid transfer fees or trying to recoup a transfer fee for a wee ungrateful ginger runt of a boy We can't just throw our hands up and say - "ach it's OK - just forget about the 200K - because we we mis-managed 8 years ago" We should accept that the criticisms are justified and the folk that were affected on our going into administration are entitled to their moan - but we shouldn't really waste any time getting hung up on it. As a going concern - we're perfectly entitled to now chase every penny we're due. And as a few have said - if we don't make money then we can't continue to pay what was agreed in the courts.
  11. Aye - and as carluke murray says - which was the main thing I forgot. We fair know how to jinx summit
  12. Aye much as the club will be grateful for the support - the travellers have gone because they've had the spare money and following motherwell is what they want to do with their money. It's their wee treat / holiday for themselves. they haven't gone to volunteer in a disaster zone or defend the country in combat. i've travelled in the past as well - but didn't feel on my return that I deserved a march past and a victoria cross
  13. Blackman seems to be getting thrust forward - almost every photo on the fishal article about the boys training last night is of him - and the press stuff has a few interviews with him. I would be relatively happy if he got a run instead of Sutts for an hour - he'll be a totally different proposition (and a surprise) for the Danes to deal with (vs what they were expecting). good to see the Record up to their usual tricks - the on-line Blackman interview has a photo of Humph at the top. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-22497630/ i know it's been done ad nauseum - however ain't it brilliant how history has been re-written in east stand loyal's post. I don't remember much moaning going on when Gannon was throwing the young guys in at the time. I remember everybody being relatively happy with last year's Euro jaunt as well at the time. It's a different season, a whole different set of players, a whole different starting point in terms of squad numbers - so it's not apples for apples - but hey ho!
  14. It's the number of spools he's put in his camera so far.
  15. that's an interesting read Bill, thanks
  16. I was referring to whether folk like Greg Strong or Eddie Forrest still have a valid point. I've said elsewhere that the situation with Cardiff is not a difficult one
  17. Weighing everything up - looking at how we've shaped up to date, what we've got in place and shaping to come through and who we've brought in - if we bring in one more player - I'm with mark McGhee - we need a commanding centre half.
