  1. I'm sure I spotted a bit of leg pulling and witiness in there as well Victor. Wind yer neck in fella.
  2. Because everybody hates England and it's better just to cut out the middleman and appeal to everyone by billing it as a USA themed night. It also cuts down on the risk of bother - if England fans are made stay away there's a good chance the evening will pass without bother and in good spirits. Allegedly
  3. Very True Al! One of the guys at work spied me on here a few months back - he keeps goin on about "You still looking at the 'Men of Steel' gay chat room?"
  4. See I'm not bashing the actual people on the front line - they do a fantastic job with the hand they've been dealt. I maybe should have been clearer in my post. I've consistently praised these people on many threads. What I was criticising was the fact the club have apparently one person dealing with ticketing at the times folk are quoting on here. Surely calls could be handled in the main office or something and the ticket office desk deals with people turning up in person. I'm talking about the club approach / strategy - not the front line people.
  5. That's tantamount to club bashing. When I was up on thursday - someone phoned when there was a queue of about half a dozen folk. The lady told the caller that because of the queue he or she would have to phone back. For me personally - that isn't really good enough. Like I said earlier - we could be doing the basic things a bit better. I understand resources are tight but that call might have been a someone who had previously been wavering and decided to renew on a whim - and the moment might now be lost.
  6. The OF have the ball at their feet and they're kicking lumps out of it. But that's not entirely their fault. The other 10 chairman have failed to collectively take them on - maybe they'll say they've tried their best but to me it looks like they've all rolled over individually and had their belly tickled. The Old Firm have nowhere to go at this particular point and the others should be taking any opportunity that arises to redress the balance a wee bit. As for our complaint - completely justified of course. However it says it all that every year the wronged team(s) complains in isolation. i'd be more impressed if Boyle / Dempster / Stillie had been as vocal in the media - in support of wronged clubs in previous seasons. Feeling aggrieved only when the ball lands in your court is slightly shallow and takes weight from our argument. The other 10 clubs need to collectively grow a set and establish some solidarity. Otherwise nowt will ever change
  7. That's offy magnanamous of ye! They'll have my support all the time. If that's who Broon picks than that's who gets roared on.
  8. that's quite frankly fuckin astounding! See this holier than thou happy clapper pish - it really gets ma goat. I find it amazing that you can rearrange my post into some sort of 'attack' on reasonable postings while quite blatantly omitting to comment on some of the outrageous comments about one of the clubs employees who as far as i have seen has given 100% so far - albeit some of his play has been criticised roundly. As fatcalf quite rightly points out the boundaries have been set - and Fraser will be roundly abused from now on in and the ghoulfest on here will have played it's part. No more needs be said about it. Funny how I'm all happy clappy on here defending employees (players) on this thread Yet I'm being club basher / moaning for the sake of it - for a couple of minor moans at the admin side of the club on the season ticket thread. It's amazing that I'm both and I think I'm merely stating my opinion in response to others (that's the way it goes isn't it?) Having a pop? Fuck sake man - read the whole thread! Fatcalf's post is 100% spot on btw
  9. Thing is though I reckon Brown doesn't think he's as pish as some of the folk on here are making out (if he thinks he's pish at all) The fact that so many are lining up to have a go at the guy before we've even thought about pulling a squad together for next season is poor. here's a novel suggestion - see if we end up with him as the main keeper after all the close season wheeling and dealing is over - could we maybe just accept our lot and give the guy as much encouragement as we possibly can? We need to remember - at this point in time we've generated hee-haw cash in the close season (early days mind you) - but as yet any cash for Reynolds has yet to materialise. - Last seasons gates were down - a reduced number of fixtures and i imagine the economy and match prices will have a minor dunt on ST renewals Last season we had the Porter money had tided us over in the second half of the season, the McGhee compo, Quinn money, Clarky money.
  10. I hope Fraser does a Juke / porter / clarkson and has us all eating our words. if he's our Number 1 next season obviously the best thing would be if we're all on his back from the very start.
  11. Smears? Club bashing for the sake of it? Get a Grip! I don't think that there's been much of that in the discussion. All I was saying was that if there's upwards of £200 (or multiples of) changing hands it would be better to get the book when you turn up - rather than having them mailed out (purely stating facts but our mailing track record speaks for itself on multiple threads - and costs the club money unecessarily) or having to make a return trip to FP. If there are well understood issues with printing and contracts etc. Why dont we delay the sale / offer period until then - or find a quicker printer. If the club are being charged £6.20 - as would appear to be the case from some of your replies - for a credit card transaction then I sincerely apologise. I just think there are simple things we could do better that would improve the supporters experience of buying season tickets / match tickets. And at the risk of exposing myself to further club bashing accusations - we've been talking about looking at options / sorting the on-line ticketing thing out for about two years. If this is club bashing - then you can aw go an fling shite at yerselves. I love the club as much as the rest of you - fans, mst office bearers and employees included. C'mon the 'well
  12. Drove up from work in Blantyre to FP at lunchtime there to renew mine and my brothers tickets - left feeling a wee bit let down. Nothing major - would just be good to walk away with the books in my hand. An extra expense for the club in postage as well (surely the timing of the close season didn't come as a surprise) Plus - as has already been mentioned - if yer paying by credit card the early bird bonus is almost halved (£262 instead of £256 on a £270 ticket) - hardly worth the bother is it? Now when the club must be desperate for folk to renew season tickets - it's hardly the best frame of mind to put a supporter in at renewal time.
  13. I meant to post this a few times in the past. We stumbled across this photo again a few weeks back. Great memories come flooding back but tinged with a bit of sadness. I love this photo which was taken by my brother-in law (SCDave's old man) when we all went down to Fir park on the 19th to see the parading of the cup. Look at the claret and amber ribbons against the sky - beautiful is it no'? Unfortunatey like most of us we've lost some of the folk that were there with us that day. Dave's old man being one of them, who passed away in 96 (way way too early) and within a few months of my own old man, both dedicated 'well fans who we travelled the length and breadth of the country with following the team. In '91 dave was about 5 or so and just getting into the ways of following the dossers and must have been absolutely taken aback with what was going on at hampden and around fir park / motherwell town centre the following day. I'm glad he also managed to get to Dortmund with his dad to see that brilliant display at the Westfalen. I look at the photo and remember the day and the magnitude of the achievement and remember what it was like to be there with family and friends. And look at Phil and Jamie on that bus - and Coop who was out of that particular shot. And think about Muir (dave's dad) behind the camera and my old man standing beside us. Unbelievably rich memories but very sad at the same time. Brings it all home to me that there's much more to being a well fan that should be appreciated and celebrated than we do at times. It's about us all - friends, mates, family - gathering in the stands cheering on 11 guys knocking their pan in. Results good or bad, a pass or save made or not, a string of results is hee haw in the grand scheme of things. I hope we get the chance to experience this again. I appreciate it more - every time I think back! C'mon the Dossers!
  14. Sair wan Al - each to their own and all that. Like most well fans - I'm delighted that we're in europe. Not delighted that Utd won or Ross County got beat - just delighted that the passports looked out. On saying that - I wouldn't have been distraught had Utd been pumped. That would have been great for a team like Ross County. As has been said many times we had the opportunity to get ourself qualified and shat in the nest 1st half vs Hibs (as well as vs Fatkirk at home) . The comeback was great but if we'd turned up we could have had it stitched up by half time. And to be fair - for fielding a weakened team vs hibs utd deserved to be pumped. All's well in the end though -
  15. Bang on BB he's plenty of fizz that lad - plus a bubbly personality for the dressing room. Plenty of bottle too (although a wee bit green)
  16. See it on the feeshal now. Good Luck Dazza - all the best wherever you end up
  17. The risk for the club here is that folk then stop participating when it's at risk of being 'perceived' as being run improperly. In all these things transparency is paramount when you're taking the dosh of punters through the gate. The tannoy is perpetually gubbed, and when the scoreboard is down you find an alternative way to communicating the numbers. I dunno if they've been posted on the official? but additionally they could have been posted on here or FPC. Or chalk them on a board and walk round the track with them at HT like they did with things in the 60s and 70s A wee bit imagination
  18. Aye his tap ins on wednesday were pish - particularly the two headers. my favourite tap in was the 25 yarder at Ibrox last year. And some of the other tap in headers he's scored this season.
  19. He's a far shrewder man than many think. And behind the cuddly OAP there's someone who knows how to wheel, deal and get wht he wants. I'd wager that the quick turnaround when Gannon was despatched was 'slightly different' to what was reported. . Timing, positioning, who made the first call etc etc. he's done a great job. My main concern though remains our ability as a club to get contracts tied up. And for 'anyone' who may feel the need to PM me - this is not a dig at the club or the way that they do business. I'm stating a concern that we don't seem to be making headway in a critical area & all factors may not be in our control
  20. I really did know that, honest. it was a moan more than a question as he fuckin annoys me.
  21. That's blown me out of the watter.
  22. Why does the fat chunt / marti pellow lookalikie feel the need to run towards our support every time too
