  1. Wouldn't want him coming in and earning any more than someone who's knocked their pan in for two seasons (a la Big Boab). If he comes back he should fit in to the pecking order where he belongs. he's a decent player, aye, but we've got guys on the books now that have done a job for us and conducted themselves far better than Pearson ever did.
  2. As long as he was on the opposite end of the back row from Reynolds in the annual team photo!

I remember there being some pretty decent designs in that lot. I remember the blue one too. I like when they dig out a design variant from the past as an alternative for the second strip. For the home kit - I'd like to see the hoop back as being the predominant design feature that we keep. However I've liked others in the past - like the Pettigrew sash from '76 ish and Faddy Untouchables band from a few seasons back. Looking forward to seeing it. Cant believe we've hit 18 pages on a new kit tho!

I know what you're saying Frazzle. I don't think that's the case here. Reading between the lines I think our guys have told Canterbury what they want. Time will tell tho. Cant wait to see it. If they're true to their word the first teaser will be in the next week or so.

I don't think Canterbury turned up at Provan Sports door with some design that looks like an explosion in a paint factory and said - 'here's the shirt that Motherwell are gonna wear next season - RIGHT!!!' I'm hopeful that they've been in there a few seasons now and the boys in there know what MFC are all about and what we're looking for in a jersey. The shirt design is a two way process I imagine - what Canterbury can offer and what we as a club want.
  7. It doesn't stop one of the main thing that's killing our game - playing each other 4 times a season.
  8. Most of the things that people have put forward are constructive and should be considered. However because there's an elemement of turkeys voting for Christmas most wouldn't get by the suggestion stage. The pot of money in football isn't going to the right people - and fans are funding most of it either directly or indirectly. Admission and season ticket prices have to be significantly cut in my opinion and something needs to happen to limit the money agents take from the game. I'm all for some sort of draft system like they have in America and as someone mentioned Australia for players outwith their contact. I think players should be bracing themselves for signing on fees and wages being 'shrunk' - Not that I'd agree with that entirely but some sort of addressing the imbalance between the obscene wages that some take compared to the pittance some guys take would be beneficial. i think the place will be awash with old firm dead wood at the end of the season as well. i also agree that we need one governing body - but after some form of bloodbath where - old backward thinking spineless codgers have been completely eradicated. Time for some radical new ideas.
  9. Graeme 'Buzz' Smith outs himself on SteelmenOnline!
  10. What are the measures that need to be taken by the SPL to resurrect the game? Poor Attendances, particularly if the games on the telly. Playing each other 4 times a season SPL2? The Split? The Winter Break? The Credit Crunch? The Old Firm Dominance of resources and media. Self preservation vs The Overall Good of the Game No decent TV highlight package at a decent hour on mainstream TV. Just a number of factors. What needs to happen guys? or is everything in the garden rosier than we think?
  11. I felt it was a dire dire game on Saturday. We just didn't get going at all and must be a huge disappointment to McGhee given the preparation that went into the game. It looked like the Live TV thing was playing on the players minds. I can't help but think that the lack of atmosphere contributed to the poor match - I believe that Setanta, the SPL and the individual clubs, including ourselves, need to do far more in terms of incentivising live matches. I don't think Setanta will continue to fund football that comes across as an end of season junior fixture on the telly. I know this has been covered elsewhere - but I think its relevant to Saturday's outcome. I didn't go for a couple of reasons, cost being one of them. £20 for a game that's on the telly - is fast becoming soccer suicide by the clubs. It's just not on any more. Things have changed so significantly over the past 6 months. Overall a really disappointing outcome - as the game was there for the taking and if we had found anything like a higher gear for 10 minutes in that game - we could have taken 3pts. I take Flows point about the push for Europe over the final 8 games or whatever, however - Saturday's result could have gone a long way to securing Top 6. Which we need to secure over the next three matches before we can seriously think of Europe. We've been on a great run and I'm taking nothing away from that. And I'm not being overly negative about Saturdays performance - which accounts for only one game as has been said I think we can do it however - it needs to be said - the players let themselves down a wee bit on Sat. I think them and the coaching staff won't need any of us 'experts' to tell them that this morning. 3 points were there for the taking.

What way would the hoop run - roon the boot or across the laces. I think there's a ferr bit of winduppery going on in this thread with these young jolly japesters. However, based on the comments from those close to it so far - i.e. McGhee and Flow - I fully expect it to be a belter. Good construction and a design that'll please the fans (that don't have a beer gut)

A hoop would be good - but its too hard to do - you'd never get the number to stick oan the back. Plus claret material is 30 times more expensive than amber stuff - so if we had claret right roon the XXL strip will be about £75. I think it's about time we had a SteelmenOnline sponsored weight loss anyway. I'm cringing at the thought of all us fat bassas in a Canterbury shirt. The east stand will be like a jumbo water balloon convention

Why are you sorry to add that Graham. Are we not punching above our weight?
  15. You appear to be attempting to apply common sense to this predicament weeyin. I've noticed on one or two holidays over the years - not a lot of grass grows on the beach!
  16. I hope we get him. But I think it's bad news that it's been leaked.

I'd like to get a photo of my first pet hamster incorporated in the panel under the oxter! Plus my season ticket number embroidered below the badge. And the word famous 'The Jam' In The City spraypaint logo on the back instead of the squad number.
  18. I'd step back a wee shade lads - prior to the press onslaught. 1 stand is a family stand with adults bringing kids - £15 Adult - £10 and £5 Kids The other three stands are exactly the same £20 Adult, £14 Concessions, £5 U12 Granted they should be offering the same family deals to well fans. But for general admission they're charging their own punters the same. Clicketydoodah!
