  1. Valakari is a disaster waiting to happen, but we're as well trying it, as thats what the fans want...and what the fans want, the fans get. I see Colin O'Neil is throwing his hat in the ring on Facebook...gie it a bash, hes a former player after all.
  2. Do you think Pearson, Cadden, Heneghan, Clay, Chalmers and Jules were giving 100% on Saturday? For me, the only ones that I could see genuinely busting a gut were McHugh, Moult and McDonald.
  3. Stubbs and Collins are decent shouts and much more realistic than the likes of Simo Valakari if you ask me
  4. Are you possibly too young to remember Billy Davies previous spell with us? Spent a fortune, got nowhere and is seemingly a very difficult man to like...unless your name is Tommy Sheridan. Jim Duffy, holds a certain amount of appeal in the short-term, but I'm not sure about his longevity.
  5. Absolutely sums it up for me...and doesn't even take into consideration the hiding-to-nothing he was on with a vast section of the fans since day one... ...I've actually seen a post on Facebook today that read along the lines of, 'great news, Mcghee has been sacked, I've been waiting for this day since the cunt was appointed', now that strikes me as pretty pathetic, considering the only way he was going to be sacked was for the team this fella supports to have been having a horrendous season. I know plenty of folk who have been refusing to attend while 'that cunt is the manager', weird and sad in my opinion. As BB has said, there should be a few players who should struggle to look themselves in the mirror today as their performances and endeavour since the turn of the year has been abject and pathetic, somehow I doubt they will though as they turn up for training whilst stealing a wage. Over to the board now, to get this next decision right.
  6. So now that he's now gone, we can unpark this thread... ...who do we want? Who's realistic? Does he have to be Scottish/British? Do we have confidence that the board will get it right? Whos favourite with the bookies?
  7. There will be another convenient excuse trotted out
  8. Well hopefully, we get a Leicester-type reaction from our shitehawk players
  9. It happens all the time, players come in for a short period and look great, then fall back the way. I'm not sure why, it might be adrenaline pushing them on, their attitude to something new, their opposition not taking them as seriously as they should...the best example for me is Kevin McBride, who had an absolutely great spell when he was on loan to us, fast forward a few months and into a permanent contract and he was fucking bowfing...fast forward a few years later and he was plying his trade in the lower leagues. ...or as I said, he might be carrying a knock, but as Big Wispy Flossy said, he is a bit of a one-trick pony, and his opponents might now understand what it takes to nullify him. Who knows, but he's certainly not playing as well as he was.
  10. Thats pretty much what I'm getting at...hes either really struggling for fitness just now through over-use or injury, or he has been playing above himself since he came into the team and is now being found out.
  11. Re-read the 3rd line of what I posted... ...I genuinely don't know, its not my decision either, but I'm certain we'll get applications from all over the World and we should make the decision based on who the best candidate is and not what I, or any other fan wants.
  12. Where to start with this...I tend not to post at the weekends, as its much more enjoyable posting on company time, so its gave me a day or two think about how bad we actually were. Dundee played well, but by fuck we made it easy for them, to the extent that I couldn't say that they had to work particularly hard for any of their goals. Hartley had clearly done his homework and realised that we don't have an adequate left-back, and his team exposed SloJoe time and time again. No harm to the lad, but he is making me pine for the days of Shakey Straker at full-back, excruciatingly slow, lacking in any sort of defensive ability, horrendous decision-making and why he was taking all the set-pieces I'll never know. Utter, utter shite, and should have been hooked at half-time. Jules beside him, was like a rabbit caught in the headlights, this was the 1st time I have witnessed the boy play...he looks like a player, and comes with a pedigree, but he's fucking rotten as well. Lacklustre, naive, watch him when the ball is in the air and he matches his man, rather than attempting to go for the ball...needless to say he is not the dominant centre-back that we are looking for. Samson, I was well warned by Killie-supporting mates, that this guy has made a career out of football, when his talents don't suggest that he should have. I was more than willing to give him a go this season, but some of the stuff from him has been appalling...the 1st goal on Saturday, I lay the blame firmly at his door. As a youth coach myself, I'm more inclined to lay the blame at the guy who's rushing out with his hands ready to grab the ball, whilst not uttering a word, rather than the guy who is at least attempting to head the ball in the 18 yard box...anyone that reckons Jules was trying to header that back to the keeper if off their rocker, he mis-timed his jump and flicked it over the outcoming Samson...had the keeper fucking opened his mouth, we wouldn't have lost a goal so early. These three are taking some right stick on here and at the match on Saturday, and rightly so in my opinion. They are shite, the three of them, not good enough...but what I haven't seen so much of, is criticism for Heneghan and McMillan, who were absolutely tragic as well. How many headers does Heneghan win over the course of Saturdays 1st half? Watch him for goal number 5...we spotted it in the East Stand, he was marking 3 players at the back post, and appeared completely happy to do so, rather than telling his team-mates that he required assistance...the result, we lose a cheap goal and the blame lies at his door. As for young McMillan, I'm sorry, I just don't see it with the lad, to me he doesn't read the flow of the game particularly well, kept getting caught on the wrong side of his man and doesn't really offer much in an attacking sense either. I pretty much called the team that would start spot-on, other than Clay started instead of Lucas and McMillan started for Tait, the shape was entirely the way I thought McGhee would go, and I worried about our lack of width. Cadden has either enjoyed a purple patch where he has looked like a player and has now come out of it with opposition players now aware of him, or he has some sort of niggle that is holding him back...either way, he is looking worse than ordinary currently, to the point that he is offering absolutely nothing. With Pearson as our other 'wide-man', our creativity was always going to be in question and he offered even less the Cadden. The midfield 2 tried to compete, but unfortunately I don't think Clay will ever do for us, he doesnt seem to have the desired quality and offers very little in the way of assists, or goals. McHugh is a player I genuinely like, as are Moult and McDonald, for me these three are the only guys that can really walk away with their heads held high after that shitfest that we witnessed and endured. Being thankful for small mercies, Paul Hartley has clearly had one eye on their match against Thistle this Wednesday, as I'm almost certain that his half-time message to his players would have been, 'job done, take no risks, don't get injured and just see the game out', the second half was one team toying with the other, and those that reckon McHugh being put in at the back solidified us may have a point, but I'd put more nous in the point that Dundee had finished their work for the day. As a McGhee-defender for want of a better word, the thing that disappointed me most was that we started the second half with exactly the same team and set-up as we had in the 1st...if it were me, I'd have been at least looking to prove a point, and hooked 2 or 3 of the players at half-time after going absolutely bat-shit crazy in the dressing room. The players should have been fired up to at least steal a goal or two and that didn't seem to be the case, which as I say, is extremely disappointing.
  13. Winning the Finnish League is akin to winning the Irish League...is Stephen Kenny available? I'm being slightly facetious and obtuse, of course I am, but for me Valakari would be a risk that I don't think we should be looking at currently. Jim Duffy, or Peter Houston, would hold more appeal to me than someone like Valakari, purely because they are doing decent jobs here, have a wealth of experience of working on a shoe-string and have an understanding of the lower league market, that i think we should be tapping into for players. Unfortunately, these two might be out with our means given they currently hold a contract with other clubs.
  14. Its only a matter of time now until McGhee is no longer the manager of Motherwell, he hasn't a hope in hell of recovering from this, he might go this week, he might go before the split or he might see his time out but one thing is certain, he wont be here next season. Who replaces him? I'm fucked if I know, but some of the shouts so far have been wild in my opinion... Billy Davies...a total cunt of a guy by all accounts, who no doubt sees us beneath him and would probably laugh at what we would offer, he didnt do particularly well with us when we were chucking money about left, right and centre, so I'd hate to see him attempt it with fuck all money Terry Butcher...he was the right man at the right time, when we went into Admin, he helped galvanise the Club but ultimately we were only saved from relegation by non-footballing matters. His record since then is catastrophic Alex McLeish...this is a right belter, firstly because the ginger cunt is a millionaire that would definitely see the job as beneath him, and secondly that the ginger cunt made the biggest arse of the Motherwell management job of anyone before, or since, spunking literally millions of pounds on shite and breaking up a team that was genuinely one of the best in the country. Simo Valakari...would we want this guy as our gaffer if he hadn't played a season or 2 for us 20years ago? I highly doubt it, he has a decent record in the Finnish league, but not as good a one as Harri Kampmann had. The Finnish league? Come on tae fuck... Stephen Craigan and Keith Lasley...someone explain to me how managing a glorified boys club, readies you for a crack at keeping a senior team in the premier league? Also, from what I've heard, Craigan earns circa £100k per annum from BT Sport for his 'intellectual match day thoughts', it might be shite and I hope it is because thats an obscene amount of money for BT to pay to subject his drivel on their viewers but if it is the case, who could see him walking away from that type of cash? Steve Robinson...sacked by Oldham after a few months in the gig, as they hurtled towards relegation Craig Brown...for by hes about 90, what makes the old fucker so special that he doesn't garner the same vitriol as McGhee does for fucking off to Aberdeen in almost identical circumstances? Jackie McNamara...yes, I have seen this balloons name mentioned on one of the Well Fans Facebook Pages...Jackie McNamara, JACKIE MCNAMARA If the Board do decide to listen to, what is now, the vast majority of the fans and empty McGhee, I hope to fuck they don't listen to their advise on potential management options
  15. Fuck all... For what its worth, I've been very much in the 'give him to the end of the season, and go our seperate ways then' camp, as I firmly believed that there was no realistic threat of relegation and that we are a better team than our position suggests, and part of me still feels that way. Saturday, however, was an utter embarassment, and the players should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. There aren't many in that starting line-up that I'd be breaking my neck to re-sign for next season and to that effect, the buck must stop with McGhee as he either signed them, or has had ample opportunity to replace them. I think his position is untenable now, the reaction during the game from the fans and the protests after, no matter how sparse, have left the manager and the Club in a no-win situation from now on...I said, a few weeks back that the atmosphere around Fir Park towards McGhee from the moment we appointed him has been toxic, but it was ramped up a few levels on Saturday and it may well be in everyones best interests to pay him his 3 months wages and let someone else make a fist of keeping us in the division with a relatively clean slate. What worries me is that, we are now in an incredibly critical period of the season and we are stuck with the players that have put us in this mess...I don't think anyone on the current staff has the skill set required to dig us out of the shite, Craigan, Faddy, Lasley are all to inexperienced for me, and Robinson has just been sacked by Oldham as they are in their own relegation mire.
  16. Boycott? Fuck that. Protests during the game? Fuck that. By all means, protest away all you want after matches, but its at times like this, we really do need to use our energy to help pull the team out of the hole they have dug themselves into. Boycotts and Protests will be nothing other than counter-productive in the short-term, as players are less likely to respond positively to empty stands or being called all the names under the Sun, and hearing their 'supporters' lambast their boss for 90minutes. There is a fair chance that Saturdays actions from the supporters will have a negative effect on the team, particularly if the players pick up on the fact that there manager is the one getting it in the neck more than them. Protests and the like aren't for me, but my message to the lads and lassies that are going down that route would be 'support the team during the match, protest after it'.
  17. Murphy was a fantastic player for us...very under-rated by the fans in my opinion. I look forward to the day that he returns as a 35 year old to Fir Park
  18. Went for Moult purely because he looked like he gave a fuck...the manager is getting it in the neck, but some of those players should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
  19. McHugh has to play centre-mid...a position we've struggled to fill for a long, long time, he looks like he could be the one for me. At centre-back, it has to be and undoubtedly will be Zac Jules, not seen him yet, but we signed him on loan purely because we didn't have adequate cover for Mick or Ben. At left-back, I'd start young McMillan, but I'd imagne it'll be SloJoe Chalmers in there, whoever is played there will have the added comfort of Stephen Pearson playing in front of them who will at least give them a bit of cover and assistance that has been lacking when both have played there earlier in the season Samson Tait Heneghan Jules McMillan Cadden Lucas McHugh Pearson McDonald Moult
  20. Aye, bought mine too...anybody know if any supporters buses are running
