  1. Has anyone managed to book bus tickets with Alsa or train tickets with Renfe? I am having problems with both sites refusing payment! Trying to book the bus from Benidorm to Valencia on Thursday and the train from Valencia to Salou on Friday! Grrrr.....

  2. My dad and I are doing similar steelboy, flying Glasgow to Alicante on the Wednesday with easyjet then returning to Prestwick from Reus on that cheap flight on the Saturday night. Not sure yet how we're getting from Alicante to Valencia or Valencia to Reus and not sure yet where we're spending the 3 nights either but going to work that out over the next couple of days.

Thats us got our plans in place, I think! Coach transfer from Alicante to Benidorm, Wednesday night in Benidorm, bus on Thursday from Benidorm up to Valencia, 1 night in the Eurostars Hotel, train on Friday from Valencia to Salou, Friday night in Salou, coach transfer on Saturday from Salou to Reus airport for the flight home. Just need to book a hotel/apartment for the Wednesday night in Benidorm and a hotel/apartment for the Friday night in Salou. Anyone been to either and have any suggestions?

  3. edinburgh to alicante on the wednesday with easyjet then reus to prestwick with ryanair on the saturday night. £166 bucks plus a motor and hotels.

the reus to prestwick flight is currently sitting at 25 quid total for anyone looking for a cheap return flight.

  4. Why would i be having a laugh ?? i am assuming the city clubs you are referring to are Hearts / Hibs , Dundee untd and Aberdeen, although technically there are now 5 as Perth is now a city, so St Johnstone are in there as well. from those 5 only Hearts and Dundee untd are likely to be any good, Aberdeen and Hibs are dross with no money to spend to improve and St Johnstone without Sandaza and a few others will struggle next year.

Apart from the 2 ugly sisters the next best 3 teams (in no particular order) are Dundee untd, Motherwell and Hearts and will probably be that way for a few seasons. As it stands in Scotland the top 4 get Europe, top 5 some years depending on Cup winners etc, so all i am saying is that Motherwell are good enough to compete for a top 5 finish.

Hope your right and I'm wrong mate! But better wages generally means better players and Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, Hearts & Hibs all, to my knowledge pay bigger wages that us, hence they are likely to recruit better players in the long run! Obviously we have managed to buck that trend in recent season, partly due to Jim Gannon's (and Stuart McCall's) shrewdness in the transfer market, which has been great, however I don't expect it to last :-( . St Johnstone medium to long term are more likely to join Killie and us IMO fighting it out for best of the rest. Anyway I'm hoping for Copenhagen, easiest to get to and likely to be the only team we have a chance of competing with (unless the Pana really are going to have to offload most of a team).

  5. No dilemma for me, this might be the one and only time in my life that i can go to watch Motherwell away in the champions league, so i will be going, (my personal preference would be Kiev). Lets be honest we are likely to be Europa league contenders most years in the SPL so there will be lots of away trips there as we have seen in recent years. But this is the premier club football tournament in the world and for Motherwell to be in there is something i never thought i would see, so i will be there

"Likely to be Europa League contenders most years", you're having a laugh arent you? Normal service will be resumed some time soon I'm afraid with the ugly sister top two and the 4 city clubs fighting it out between them for the European places (their budgets are much bigger), anyone who thinks we can maintain top six football for the next number of years is being very optimistic IMO and for that reason I'll be making every effort to make it to all of our away games if I can get the money together. Nancy & Odense were unforgettable, Tom Hateley's last minute free kick in Odense was worth the money for the trip by itself! :)

  6. Agree with Tweed. First half was pretty even, a break of the ball either way could have seen one side up at HT. Second half we made individual mistakes that were punished unfortunately. We struggled going forward, although I thought Hump was one of the few that actually turned up today. I have defended Higdon all season when others have got on his back but he was dire today and has been for the last 2 or 3 games, if he can't win his fair share physical battles then not sure he should be in the team! Bad day, ref terrible, other results not in our favour, however keep the faith, we're still well clear in 3rd and we'd all have grabbed that at the start of the season or even at the turn of year. Bad news if Tom's family got grief today, some fans need to get a grip, however again I agree with Tweed twitter aint the place and McCall should be telling him that on Monday morning.

  7. Hope its QOS. Easier game in my opinion and if its Aberdeen it'll likely get moved from a Sat 3pm kick off for TV. Utd v Celtic a cert for TV but think Well V Dons would be the other choice looking at the other games.

  8. Agreed

Thought Hateley lost nearly every ball in the air to Samaras (maybe understandable given the height difference but still), wasted most of our corners (think one went on Craigan's head) and wasnt too clever for the winner either. Rules him out for me.

  9. Hammell did play well but lost Stokes for the first goal I'm afraid. Jenno for me, particularly in the 2nd half. I wonder if he'd have stopped McCourt one way or another in the build up to their second goal had he still be on the park.

  10. Shocking idea that again takes little notice of season ticket holders that have paid in advance. Will I get a refund if I can't attend? No. Only good thing about it is its not 12 noon on a Sunday. Can almost understand when kick off times are changed for TV as we (SPL) need the revenue, however to move the kick off time from 3pm on a Saturday for no reason is frankly a joke. Well seen that no home games involving Rangers or Celtic have been involved in this trial. Joke.

  11. Just got home from the Aberdeen game, and have to say that I'm seriously getting sick & tired with the moaning-faced c*nts that sit in the east stand.

I've heard the much-used "greatest fans in the world" slogan that Celtic fans like to throw around when talking about themselves, but I'm really starting to wonder if we should be branding certain sections of our support as the exact opposite.

    In fact, the use of the word support perhaps shouldn't apply to these people. If we look up the term in the dictionary it reads as follows;

Now, entry number five is what should apply at Motherwell games, but going by recent reactions to the likes of Tim Clancy, Chris Humphrey, Stephen Craigan & Michael Higdon I think the last thing these people can call themselves is supporters.

It's no secret that the last few games haven't been our best. The above-mentioned players haven't exactly been firing on all cylinders (especially Higdon & Craigan). This is where the paying punter in the crowd comes into his own, right? When the players aren't on top of their game we step in and offer support (there's that word again) and encouragement to get them back on track?

Do we f*ck. If a player has the sheer audacity to play a couple of stinkers we get right on their cases.

Take today, for example. The ball gets played to Higdon after 4 minutes and he chests it down, turns and misplaces a pass. Uproar from the "fans" in the middle of the east stand.

The tone was set for the rest of the match right there & then.

It also appears that the team have the sheer cheek to retain possession when we have the ball. If there isn't a pass on going forward they do the unthinkable and play the ball backwards, looking to reset and move forward again.

    A fucking disgrace!

Get it lumped forward so we can all moan like fuck when Higdon either doesn't jump for it or mis-controls it after taking it down!

One incident at around the 75th minute summed things up for me when Hately played the ball down the flank looking for Daley, only for the pass to get intercepted. The middle section of the east rose and fired the kind of abuse that should be reserved for a near-side throw in by Kyle Lafferty or Scott Brown.

Hately turned to the crowd with a look on his face like "what the fuck?!? Aren't you guys supposed to be supporting us?!?!"

If it wasn't for the boys up the far end of the stand I think the team would be hard pressed to get any support from the east.

If this is how we react when we're sitting 3rd in the table, four points clear of Hearts and two behind Celtic I'd hate to see us if we were fighting relegation.

    Fucking disgraceful.

Havent read this whole thread as yet, however the originator is spot on. Some of the guys that sit in the East Stand should be ashamed of themselves, supporters my arse! . FFS if you need to shout abuse direct it at the opposition or the ref. Understand we all get frustrated at times and shout the odd thing that in hindsight we regret but berating a player for 90 mins (i.e Higdon yesterday and Craigan/Humphrey at times) is NOT going to help them! Wake up!

  12. I'd go

    Randolph

    Hateley Clancy Craigan Hammell

    Jennings Lasley

    Humphrey Law Daley

    Higdon

    4-2-3-1

I'd give Murphy a breather in hope when he comes on he can gain some much needed confidence and form from terrorising a tiring Aberdeen defence.

I think Fallon will have a field day against Craigan and Clancy in the air though.

Spot on, thats the team I'd pick! Murphy looking tired/off form, Jenno also struggling but not convinced we have a viable alternative :(

  13. Fed up with fans having a go at Humph, it seems to me like some of you guys would rather remember the bad things he does in a game and forget the good things, why, I'm not sure! Agree with Shaka! Humph's not perfect, far from it, however he is a real threat if we play to his strengths. We should be trying to help build his fragile confidence as there is no doubt he can do the business at SPL level, I'm sure he's prove this on a number of occasions! Off the top of my head, the goal at EEP this season, the goal against Aberdeen at FP last season, the assist at Swinecastle for Sutton's goal last season. I'm sure if you were to ask opposition fans the majority of them would rather Humph was sitting on the bench than running at their full back! To mention him in the same breath as Shaun Fagan and/or Andy Roddie is idiotic.

  14. If that is the case I fully agree with that. Clancy to RB and Hately i to midfield with Jenno + Las, with Murphy on the right and Law on the left and Higdon on his own. This nearly worked for us in the semi last year against Rangers at Hampden (all be it with a few differnt players) and is the way forward for us against the fources of darkness in Glasgow IMO.

  15. Anyone know how late you can turn up with your season ticket at FP and still get in? Can't make it for the start of the game on Sunday but hope to be there before/around HT. Anyone know if you can still get in i.e are the turnstiles still open and if so what time do they close?

  16. Randolph

    Saunders,Craigan,Hutchinson,Hammell

    Hateley,Jennings,Lasley

    Humphrey,Murphy

    Sutton

Spot on, although if Ross were fit I would think about him instead of Saunders. We must play with a three/five man midfield, if we try and go with Jeffers & Sutton, Humph & Murphy I think we could be out of it by HT. Must keep it tight early doors. Samaras worries me big time.

  17. What about

    randolph

    hateley craigan hutchinson hammell

    humphrey lasley jennings murphy

    jeffers sutton

that way we have two wingers that are capable of beating full backs and putting decent balls in the box for big john or for franny ? plus if murphy does what he done against st johnstone and cut inside and get a shot away ?

I think we need to learn from Saturday against Rangers that we cannot afford to play 4 forwards against the OF. I'd have your team but with Ross at RB, Hateley in Midfield with Jeffers on the bench and play a 4-5-1 that becomes a 4-3-3. My biggest fear is that we lose an early goal and it turns out like the CIS final against Rangers. I think we need to make sure we are in the game which for me means Hateley, Jenno & Las in the middle of the park. Mon The Well!
