Seen a list of players out of contract this summer across the league and their some very good players for a club like us available on Frees.
Obviously Bruce Anderson would be great and we should be in for him but I think Kettlewell would probably make Joel Nouble a 10-15 goal a season Striker.
Ross Callachan and Simon Murray of Ross County
That's a horrorshow of a list.
Take four players from the teams below and you are only headed in one direction.

Kettlewell's Motherwell TV interview is like he's won a Nobel Prize rather than beat David Martindale's Livingston.

A good win without playing particularly well and some nice finishes. Gent has to be the best crossser of the ball we've had since Davie Cooper, if we had a Sutton type forward who thrives on crosses he would have got assists every game.
Nicholson looked the sharpest he's been but it's hard to judge against Livi. Watching Halliday is painful, he was burst after 15 minutes and Livi players were dribbling round him like a traffic cone.

Halliday and Nicholson in for Vale and Davor.
Risky considering their form and Spittal's complete disinterest since Ibrox.

A final word on the Jack Vale red card - why was Butland only yellow carded in the St Mirren V Rangers game?
Butland played the ball when the St Mirren guy was 6 yards away from him and the guy clattered into Butland. It should have been a foul to Rangers but Nic Walsh can't help himself.
For someone who criticises refs every single time we play you seem to have a loose grasp on the laws.
That St Mirren player just runs into people all the time. He's the perfect Robinson player.

According to Wiki, the 16 acres that McDiarmid Park sits on was worth £400K in 1986. What's it worth now? Will it be sold from under them once/if it all goes wrong?
It's apparently worth £20 million. There will be a side deal with the Browns to develop it.
I'll be surprised if they don't end up with something like the wee temporary stadium Edinburgh Rugby play at.

Wrexham are 9 million in debt now. They borrowed £6 million in one year.
They get fuck all from the TV show.

Back to the Well Society being a minority on the club executive board.

It takes a real expert to play Conor Wilkinson in midfield. None of us could have ever came up with that.

The salary cap idea sounds more like a reaction the new Football Regulator that has been introduced. Most EPL clubs are spewing money and running at a loss thanks to massive wage bills. Not to mention all the issues many are facing with breaches of the Financial Fair Play rules.
I doubt it's workable, but something needs to be done.
Just look at the data posted here. For example, only 3 clubs making a pre-tax profit
and the eye watering debt
No one is forcing them to spend so much. It's a choice from those owners.

Three decent saves. And I regard a 4-0 defeat as a hiding. If others had done the basics as well as Kelly, we would have at least drawn.
It would have been some afternoon's work if he made zero saves.

Do you also keep stats on errors you see others making, or is it only a select few you choose to highlight? Comes across that you are just sitting there desperate for Kelly, SOD or Spittal to slip up. Surprised you ignored SOD's one slip where he sclaffed the ball into the crowd. Kelly was far from the worst player on Saturday. Given how poor you say he was, I find it surprising that the Motherwell fans at the game did not turn on him. . Out of curiosity, were you at the game or is your assessment based on TV highlights? Or maybe his supposed salary?
I watched the live stream.
I'm not desperate for them to slip up, it just keeps happening whether it's SOD gifting pens or Kelly doing the same idiotic routine where he retreats back to his line as the ball comes in at every corner.
It was just a point about him saving us from a hiding when he only made three saves in the whole game.

You realise the difference though right? NFL is an entertainment sport, EPL is sports entertainment. Can't see it working unless it's uefa wide
The only reason to have a salary cap is to guarantee profits for the owners. It's why all the foreign money poured in. These owners saw a cash cow just waiting to be milked and the English will never get their game back again.
They can't get rid of relegation but they are also demanding to be allowed to spend 5 times more than other Championship clubs the season after being relegated.
Hopefully the PFA refuse to have anything to do with it.

It could not be spent on players wages . The stipulation was it must be spent on the fabric of the club.
This is a another Steelmen Online myth. It exists nowhere else than here.

Not directly related to us but the EPL club owners have now announced plans for a salary cap. It's obviously the start of a move to move huge NFL style profits out of the UK and into the owners foreign bank accounts.
I don't remember any of them saying they were going to do this when they bought the clubs....

As for the Aberdeen game I wonder if Kelly's loudest critics actually bothered to watch the game. Kelly was all that stood between us and a 3 or 4 nil hiding in the second half. Strange how anything good he does is ignored by some. And, yes, he frustrates me at times as well but then so do they all.
Aberdeen had five shots on target and Lennon Miller headed the first one off the line defending a corner about 55 minutes in. The second shot on target was the goal from a corner after an hour.
Of the three saves he made I can think of two. The shot from outside the box which was straight at him and the shot from the right hand of the box which he saved at the near post. Neither were great saves.
Add in his nonsense at the end of the game that almost gave away a goal and it was another joke performance from him.

SOD and O'Donnell. Are those psychiatrists Freudian?
I meant McGinn.
I've never seen a player pass the straight to the opposition as much as he has over the past couple of months.
-
I think we will struggle to replace Mugabi and if you look he's started in 6/8 of our wins plus the games we have defended well at Ibrox, Celtic Park and Easter Road.
I'm not going to miss reading the lazy stereotypes of "nice guy but has a mistake in him". SOD, McGinn and Casey all have far more mistakes this season. As for why he's so much nicer than Shane Blaney or Barry Maguire I'll leave that to the psychiatrists.....
-
The strange thing about this season is before the split we conceded 20 goals against the top 5 teams and 31 against the six teams outside the Euro spots.
So 1.33 goals a game against the better teams and 1.72 goals a game against the bottom teams.

Looks like a red card from this angle.

the issue for me is I don’t believe the club know how to recruit , our best players have been our youngsters and some loanees
It's not the club it's Kettlewell and Daws. We had an opportunity to get rid of them and chose not to. Now we are relying on them for probably our biggest ever rebuild.
Kettlewell seems to know he's not got what it takes in the transfer market which is why he made no attempt to bring in a centre back in either window. Because of our poor business in the last two windows we are now looking at him needing to sign 6 or 7 players that contribute plus a few loans. There is zero reason to believe he can manage it.

Heard a rumour that Kettlewell told the players to make sure they lost the game today so that four absolute wankers could have an evening of bitching on an internet forum. After four games without a defeat, they might not have survived another.
Since we won at Ibrox we've played five games and been in the lead for a single minute when Moses scored at Dundee.
We haven't kept a single clean sheet and have conceded goals from being unable to defend corners in every game.
We've scored 5 goals with the earliest one being at 74 minutes.
We were hardly in good form before today.

Don't worry about Bevis, he's not going to be here next season.
Aye it's the thought of O'Donnell, Kelly, McGinn, Halliday, Nicholson and Vale being here next season that worries me.

And far more from open play when he does
I don't think that's true.
For whatever reason his face doesn't fit with Kettlewell but when you look at the games this season where we have actually defended well Mugabi has been playing.

And what's happened to our league position since Spittal became our main man?
We went from 5th to 7th to currently 9th.
