  1. We are talking about two different things here. I don't think young high schooler are the ones causing bother. As far as the bad behaviour goes I don't really care. It's part and parcel of football in a working class area, it's like going to Spoons and complaining that people are drinking irresponsibly. We all know that going to Motherwell games is a very safe experience and no one was crying out for any of this prior to Caldwell being appointed.
  2. That's the sound of a barrel being scraped.
  3. If there has to be an age limit then make it high school age. Councils say that kids are capable of travelling up to three miles a day to school unsupervised so going to Fir Park shouldn't be an issue at this age. I don't go to many away games since the lockdown, probably less than a dozen in that period. I don't like pyro so banning people for that wouldn't bother me and might cut back on it but the process has to be above board and transparent with a right to defend yourself. The current system which magically appeared with Brian Caldwell clearly isn't.
  4. Aye the stewards have been enforcing it and even knocking back older kids who don't have ID. Complete idiocy.
  5. Why? What makes you thinks that kids who are sitting in Third Year at school today can't go to Fir Park unaccompanied without a safety issue?
  6. The crazy thing is we have a CEO admitting that he can't make the stadium a safe place for 13 year olds despite the stadium having been a safe place for 13 year olds for the past few decades. He's on the video giving it a Helen Lovejoy 'but there might be a fire alarm'. What happens if there is a fire alarm in McDonalds, or Asda or Vue Cinema where there are unaccompanied youths? What's makes Fir Park riskier than than those places. There is a clear culture nowadays of management people who are unable to deliver the core tenets of their job so they create daft rules to enforce so they can point to having achieved something. I saw a Scottish Government idiot on Twitter the other day bragging about Scotrail only having a 2% cancellation rate despite the fact that they achieved that by removing 29,000 services from the timetable. Caldwell seems to be cut from the same cloth.
  7. What he's saying about the police operating a defacto blacklist is something that needs to be looked into. Why aren't they using banning orders? Havering complete pish about it being down to the SFA when it clearly wasn't in place last season. "The last thing we want to do is knock people back" says the guy who knocks people... "People of my generation went at that age no problem". Naw kids born in 2010 were going no problem in May this year.
  8. It looks like he knows he has made an arse of this but doesn't want to back down after having his recommendation to accept 'Erik's' bid kicked into the bin by the support. The signs at the moment aren't great.
  9. He's hit double figures 6 times which makes me think he's more likely to do it again than any of our current strikers. Scoring 10-15 is still hugely valuable for a club at our level and we know from watching him he's a very good technical player and creative.
  10. If you are daft enough to think that mean average is a good way of looking at it then that's obviously what it looks like.
  11. Van Veen hit 11 in his first season for us when he was playing on the wing a lot so I'm not sure where the 7 or 8 goals comment comes from. He's a significantly better footballer than all the forwards we have at the moment.
  12. So the most likely outcome is Ryan Jack and Vale? I'd rather have the Blackpool guy on loan as a striker than Vale who is a grafter but doesn't have much impact on games. Scotland u21 international Josh Adam left Man City and was originally linked with clubs with in Germany and France but nothing happened. He's getting linked with Wrexham now but he could be an option for us as an attacking mid.
  13. Get it right up that wee prick Devlin for diving in the lead up to Sparrow's goal.
  14. Their boardroom is full of Lords and Knighthoods. The Plastic Paddy stuff is branding for dafties.
  15. Inside the stadium the club should take the initiative to protect workers and other supporters but I don't see why they would get involved with matters away from the stadium. If the Police want a banning order then they should go to court.
  16. When I spoke to Caldwell about this after the Q&A I pointed out that he would be barring kids in Third Year at High School and he didn't believe me at first so they obviously haven't looked at it very thoroughly. The SLO started up with some hysterical 'what if' scenarios about issues with young fans but didn't seem very happy when I suggested they contact other venues that allow unaccompanied youths such as cinemas or fast food restaurants for advice if they couldn't figure it out themselves.
  17. Is there not a quasi protection racket where all clubs are expected to employ at least one retired polis with the correct funny hand shake? The Old Firm both employ ex police in security roles.
  18. If the club are happy to go along with these unfair rules then the first problem is the club.
  19. Aye it's not hard to see what's going on here. Instead of going through courts which require some transparency and where individuals have the right to defend themselves they are using 'licensing' as a parralel system to enforce whatever rules suit people like Bob Park. If the club are questioned about it they will just dribble on about 'best practice' and vague threats of 'sanctions' (they seem to have replaced the big bad auditors under the bed as a catch all threat).
  20. I've just read Derek's post on P&B and it's outrageous the club are banning fans on the say so of the police with no due process at all. The Society needs to get that and the age limit sorted.
  21. Bob Park and Suzanne Read were both publicly in favour of the Barmack scam and ended up with egg on their face when we told him to GTF. They are probably looking at this as an opportunity to reassert themselves here. Bob Park should be moved out asap and Read should be told to concentrate on her actual job. At least Caldwell tried to pretend he was in favour of fan ownership, the other two were totally out of order and would have been disciplined for their social media posts about the takeover in any serious company.
  22. He was literally the worst. Second lowest save percentage and a complete disaster at set pieces.
  23. That's the biggest difference. The fact that he was involved with Scotland seemed to blind a lot of people to the fact that Kelly was the worst goalie in the league by a fair distance last season. Some of the stuff he was doing was absolutely mental and teams were aware of how much of a liability he was and targeted him. Big Aston should have been given a chance much earlier.
  24. Aye didn't see that coming. Still pretty poor from open play but good set pieces are huge. It was a like a good Robinson performance where we won all the battles across the park. We got a boost last season from playing teams coming back from Euro aways then struggled when we didn't have that advantage. We still definitely need a few players in to strengthen the squad. I thought Ewan Wilson was immense today. He's pushed on and cemented that lwb position as his own.
