  1. Why would it be his last game? We haven't taken that position with other players who have signed pre contracts and Declan Gallagher is still playing for Livi even though we have apparently have him tied up. We are only in contention for the top 6 because of Turnbull and Hastie's goals. We need to play the strongest team possible.
  2. I would have liked to have seen Scott yesterday but I can understand why Robinson gave Johnson a shot. He was terrible though and we should be looking to get shot in the summer if possible. All 11 starters played very well and McHugh was decent when he came on. Turnbull and Hastie's goals are the difference between a relegation battle and the top six and take the pressure off Main and Ayribi. I thought that Rodriguez had a great game yesterday, he looks much fitter than the first half of the the season.
  3. You've got to wonder if McCormack was actually interested in playing for us or just used the club to get back to Glasgow. The guy barely broke into a jog when he was on the pitch. We would have hammered Ross County with the right team on the park.
  4. Aye all of them because it's complete speculation.
  5. Aye it's good going but we should look at how to do things better in future.
  6. No one is saying give them all extended deals just the ones that have clear potential to make the first team. As i've already said boys not making the grade is part of youth development. It shouldn't put us off.
  7. We drew at home with Accies and got gubbed off Thistle with Gordon involved. Robinson eventually swallowed his pride when things were going down the pan against Killie and Lionel kept us up.
  8. Newell's dad is mates with Robinson. Gordon appears to be a favourite of Robinson and was absurdly played ahead of Ainsworth when we were deep in a relegation battle. Our club has a tradition of nepotism and dodgy deals. It seems quite often that players from our youth system are held to a higher standard by the club and some fans than players we sign.
  9. The second time Brendan Rodgers has been robbed this week.
  10. That's great news. They both got extended last year despite not performing well. Neither of them will have played in the first team after being extended. Tens of thousands of pounds pissed away.
  11. I think Aryibi would probably be more effective on the right.
  12. If developing young players is a big part of our model then we should always have 20 and 21 year olds on the books. I've seen people citing Dom Thomas and Luke Watt but so what. It's as stupid as saying no more loans because of Connor Sammon or no more young English players because of Newell. There are always going to be more who fail than make it, that's the nature of the process. We sign plenty of total duds from outside the club to contracts, it's not the end of the world if youth development ends up with the players going to the lower leagues.
  13. Dropping him means playing Elliot Frear who won't be here next season either. We still have a chance of Top Six so i'd play him tomorrow and if he plays well keep him in the team until that's sorted.
  14. That's exactly what it looks like A cash out.
  15. We won't be selling anyone this summer so it's possible we need the money. Terrible budgetting if true.
  16. When is the last time you saw him play? He is never going to make it at Fir Park. Even last season he was behind Turnbull and Liam Brown.
  17. So paying a wage to the most talented young players in our system is a risk? That's completely stupid. If we can afford to pay the likes of Mbulu, Petravicius, Newell and Sammon and spend serious money on social media and marketing then we can afford to sign up our best youths to serious contracts.
  18. He was definitely telling people he was going to sign after the Hearts game. A meeting with Gerrard appears to have turned his head.
  19. In the case of Turbull and Hastie it was after they got into the first team. There are no risks to contracting a boy to the age of 20/21 rather than 19/20.
  20. As I said before letting your best young players enter the final 6 months of their contract is criminal. The club is massively to blame for that. Giving out extra years to duds like Newell and Gordon but letting Turnbull and Hastie get close to expiry is poor and hopefully sparks a rethink by Burrows. The issue isn't about whether they will make a career at this level or higher but whether or not they are the best we have to develop. I've got no problem with him playing as long as he is focused. We have had good performances from players who have signed PCAs in the past. As far as the move goes it's his career, as a club and fans we show no loyalty to players we release so it's hypocritical to expect too much from the likes of Hastie. No one is worried about where Kyle McDonald or Jordan Armstrong will be next season.
  21. It wouldn't be the worst option - we could bring back Joe Chalmers - but it would still be incredibly stupid. We need fullbacks who can distribute the ball. Tait can't do it on the left and Grimshaw can't pass to save his life.
  22. There must be clubs that tie their best talent up beyond the age of 19? As Shaka says extending Shea Gordon and Newell (and we all know why) rather than the actually talented players is criminal.
  23. Just came on to do that but I'd be happier if we had pulled them up about their terms and conditions. I won't be going up to Fir Park for a fiver or to Rugby Park on Saturday but well done to the club for making it clear that Kilmarnock are taking the piss.
