  1. playing for your country isn't a job. craggs played 55 games last season, he's right to cut back.
  2. the motivation would surely be to attempt to ensure that the club stays on a level footing and hopefully moves forward in years to come. i don't agree that the standard is gettting worse, compared to 5 or 10 years ago i'm much happier with the way things are now.
  3. his record of caps gained with us is unlikely ever to beaten. most international appearances by a motherwell player and most european appearances. legend
  4. since they pumped us at home under malpas five years ago we've played them 6 times at home winning 4 and drawing 2. i don't think they'll do as well as last season but i still think they are dangerous. rooney will be a massive loss but they signed doran last week and foran, sutherland, ross and hayes are all tricky players.
  5. he was decent. but i think he played in gradel for their 2nd goal.
  6. a good showing and one in the eye for the naysayers who were talking the match down we started well and leeds seemed to respond rather than sit back and be dominated and it ended up a very decent match. i thought we showed plenty of ability but after las and hammell went off their experience and the fact the fact they are generally bigger and stronger told a bit. it's a wee bit of a concern that we've created so many chances over the past two matches and only scored two goals but you always see a wee jump from the friendlies to the first game and i reckon we should be ok. overall you've got to be optimistic for the season. murphy, hammell and law looked a lot sharper today than against thistle so i think we're in for a season of sexy fitba down the left (right in front of seat D154 every first half ) .
  7. i've got my burn_broomfield judas bassas banner made up. you better be hiding up the back of the top tier my man!
  8. leeds are a team that have a fair amount of exposure recently playing televised cup ties against spurs, arsenal and man u. i think our lads will be keen to test themselves against them.
  9. surely a young epl loan striker will be the priority. someone in the big and fast juke/blackman mould.

    Faddy

if he was confident that he could come back on a short term contract, rip up the spl and use it as a springboard for a big move there would be a tiny possibility it could happen. i wouldn't be too certain of that happening and i doubt faddy would be either. he hardly dominated the championship the last time he was in it and coming off a bad injury i don't think his stock will be very high. i predict a burnley/coventry/ipswich level move.
  11. the main thing is we get a classic craggs opening the gate long throw.
  12. hateley and carswell would be next in line for that i think.
  13. i think i prefer it this way though. ten years ago we brought in karl ready, eddie forrest, david kelly, andy dow, roberto martinez, mark brown, stephen cosgrove and neil tarrant during the summer. 8 signings all duds. then when black became manager we brought in eric domelaux, yann soloy, dirk lehmann, frank bernhard, david ferrere and dubordeau. 14 signings in the one season and apart from the pornstar they all flopped, nae wonder we went into admin
  14. murphy is a player who will benefit from playing alongside better players. his link ups with barry bannan for scotland u21 were a joy to watch. put him in a better team where he is carrying less of the creative load and i think his goal return would increase greatly. when mcdonald went to celtic he didn't have to work as hard and focussed more on scoring.
  15. i'd like to buy the club but i suspect people would be paying me not to do it if i was the owner i would instigate a reign of terror. mlad vlad would seem like a shrinking violet compared to me either playing myself as stiker or scooping a bottle of wine in an spl dug out
  16. first half wasn nothing 2nd half page - aggresive, won a lot, bit dirty, good. halsman - good touches. can't play spl left back. carswell - showed his quality a couple of times especially at our 2nd goal. struggled playing wide and at right back. pollock - good finish and alert will benefit from playing with better players lawless - poor. couldnt get on the ball at all in the 1st 15 mins of the 2nd half. too wee boab - looked sharp. good touch, movement, pace smith - hard working, static mckinnon - nae right foot howarth - impressive. very good on the ball
  17. reynolds and hutchy would be an immense partnership randolph, hateley, hutchy, reynolds, hammell, lasley and jenno = new clean sheet record
  18. good stuff. i'm more interested in seeing mchugh, page, carswell and pollock than the regulars anyway. was mccall on off ball for a while and is it worth listening to?
  19. it's against a team that are happy to turn up and don't need hotel and travel expenses covered. the NI select is a nice idea but it would be difficult to schedule.
  20. you're getting tom hateley mixed up with derek zoolander.
  21. two years ago when craggs was taking the training in june hughes, smith, mclean and the rest of them that were out of contract and leaving were no where to be seen.
  22. how are people going to apologise when you've quit the site? ffs.
