  1. Rangers are not world beaters. We need to concentrate on our game and what works for us. If it becomes as bit of a scrap, and we get a fair hearing from the officials in that regard, then we can take something from it. As for Hartley's comments. Inappropriate and misjudged. He will learn from it, hopefully. However, we need a captain who will lead and not take a backward step, so I am not too bothered if he isn't quite ready to join the diplomatic corps.
  2. A two nil victory over Hearts? We’d take that most days. Good result for whatever the team is called.
  3. Time for the manager to remind the press of his red card statistics from last season.
  4. Could make things more difficult for us, if they can bring in someone who can make a difference. Feel a bit sorry for Miller. Without knowing any of the circumstances beyond results, he has scarcely been given a chance. However, if the board feel that his appointment has been a serious mistake, then they need to act quckly and decisively. Of course, being the people who made the appointment, maybe they should also consider their own positions at the club?
  5. A win is a win. I think we budget for reaching the quarters of both cups, so that is a goal achieved. Also good to beat a side who may turn out to be at the squeaky bum end of the league table, along with us, if only for a boost in our confidence. Unfortunate that the schedule of fixtures means that we are not likely to be able to continue our winning streak. Just got to hope that the performances can continue on an upward track.
  6. Fisher looked like a decent signing, but, for us, he couldn't hit a cow on the arse with a banjo. Glad things are now working out for the lad, but for whatever reasons, he was never any good for us.
  7. Nice to have a win though. Even if it will be difficult to give too many of the young guys a chance if the first team continues to struggle. Much easier to blood youngsters in a side that has some confidence.
  8. Why does the phrase " it could be worse" always remind me of Marty Feldman?
  9. I certainly wonder where our goals are going to come from. Bowman tries, but has never really been a regular scorer, Main looks like his goals have dried up, hopefully not terminally, and Sammon has not turned a corner with us, so doesn't look like the answer. Puts a lot of pressure on Johnson coming good, or let's see who we can get in?
  10. Robinson deserves at least a little time to try and sort things out. The success of last season surely buys him that? Let's see where we are after the first round of fixtures. Anyone coming in will have to work with what we have, so changing before the end of the transfer window " to give the new manager a chance of building their own squad" is not an option. We have no cash and who is going to take our cast offs? The uncomfortable truth is that the two players who made our squad a little bit better than the rest, Moult and Kipre, have left, and, not surprisingly, they have been difficult to replace. Throw in a few injuries, Dunne, Bowman, Hartley, Tanner, and we are down amongst the dregs of the division, already fighting for survival.
  11. Sounds like it was predictably pish. Our squad is not without talent, but we really need to find a system and style of play that can get the best out of them. Sadly, as Hartley's performances prove, I don't think we can rely on the returning Dunne and Tanner to help us turn the corner. Players returning from long term injury need time and patience and we may very well be short on both of these by the time they are ready to return. The senior professionals need to stand up and face the challenge. Carson, Tait, Aldred, Hartley and McHugh have plenty of experience. It needs to kick in soon or we will find ourselves in a serious hole.
  12. Looks like a draw to me, unless Accies are as awful as I hope they are. Any real confidence I currently have is based on the sincere hope that Accies, Livi, St Midden and the ‘Dee are more shite than we appear to be.
  13. Not heard any rumours regarding late interest from down south in any of our saleable assets. Hopefully time for people to settle down until January and try and get our season up and running.
  14. I believe Hutchison matches it by reducing the debt rather than a cash payment. Not really in the spirit of his generous offer to make a payment which was not genuine, just to generate the debt reduction.
  15. My understanding is that the debt is interest free for now, but that this is only for the short term.
  16. If the debt is such a priority, perhaps we should pay it all off with the substantial down payment we are receiving for Cedric? Then, without this hanging over us, we can play hardball with suitors for the likes of Cadden, Carson and Campbell? As previously stated, I have no problem with selling players on, I simply do not want us to be seen as the cheap option. An extra hundred grand is close to chicken feed in their market, but it would make a reasonable difference to us. We need to be squeezing the most out of these deals to allow us to progress.
  17. One question. Does our model have a provision for the season after it fails in it’s core purpose, and we find ourselves in the Championship?
  18. Agree with a fair bit of what you say here. My one concern is that you feel hounded. This is the Internet, not real life. Any **** with a keyboard can add content and it is all just bs or insightfully brilliant at one and the same time my own input included. Do not let it get to you.
  19. If the replacement is anything like recent signings, prepare to be underwhelmed.
  20. The debt being paid is necessary, but will it give us a warm rosy glow after three seasons in the Championship? The problem is that the only figures being quoted are a possibility of seven figures when the add ins kick in. So we are really looking at letting him go and praying for their success. Cedric is a potential goldmine as he genuinely has the assets to go all the way to the top. We seriously need to cash in on this, whether it is now, or later. Half a million now( speculation) looks cheap and one would hope that we could do a bit better.
  21. With the amount of cash English clubs seem to have, and the silly prices they seem to be happy paying, why should we settle for anything less?
  22. Seems a funny time to be having a fire sale. There will probably be a fair amount of cash swilling about in the next few days with the English window about to close, but that does not excuse us for accepting any half arsed offers that come along. If we lose Kipre, Carson and Camden for say a combined initial total of around £2 million, it will be good news for Hutchison, Boyle and Hartlepool, and a season of grim struggle for us as we fight for tenth place.
  23. I suppose £1 million plus add ons for Cedric would be acceptable. The final line of the Sun article suggests it would be a down payment and then possible add ons making it up to seven figures. That sounds like selling on the cheap to me.
  24. Got the win required. Now show the same commitment against Clyde and we should be okay.
  25. He's 35 and a brief look at his career stats suggests that he is only a prolific goal scorer for QoS. Not sure if he is quite what we should be looking for, though he will probably score against us now.
