  1. You know what, 10, 12, 14, 16 or 18 teams changes nothing. You can dress it up anyway you want, but the product will remain exactly the same, in fact potentially an 18 team league would only excacerbate the dominance of the 'Big Two'. Scottish football needs radically re-built from the bottom up. But what are the real issues? The argument that the dominance of the 'Big Two' detracts from the quility of the league may not ring true. Look at the EPL, only 3-4 teams can realistically win that league out of 20. That is the exact same ratio as 2 teams dominating 10 teams. So having a realistic chance of winning anything doesn't seem to curtail the English, Spanish or Italian leagues. What sets those leagues apart is primarily the size of the country, as it enables larger support, which equals more revenue, which means bigger stadia, bigger wage structures and ultimatley better football. Is Scotland now just too small to support the number of professional teams. Maybe the implosion of Scottish football would be the best thing that ever happened, as the number of teams that re-form, when and if it is re-built, could be limited, thus strenghtening the support base of the new teams, resulting in increased revenue, better/bigger stadia and a bigger wage structure......thus generating a better product. I truely believe Scottish football needs something much more radical than the number of teams in the league, to enable it to be re-born as a product which suits all involved and make Scottish Footbal stronger as a whole. Perhaps a bigger amature set up similar to Germany would suit our league structure, with pro clubs limited to no more than say 20? So......back to my original point, the size of the league changes absolutly hee haw. Much more radical re-thinking is required, but it wont happen as the powers that be are only concerned with self preservation! No body has the guts to rip it all up and start again. Maybe we could do worse than look at the american system where the players are owned by the league, and that the team that finishes bottom gets 1st pick from the draft next year, meaning that no team can dominate. Now that would be far more exciting! No?
  2. Nail on the head..........but since when have the red tops ever been objective! The media in this country are killing our game, make no bones about it. The incredibly ironic thing about it is, that the more they drag our game into the gutter, the closer they bring themselves to be out of a job! The less money there is, the less 'pundits' will be required. They thick bampots just don't see it. The English media constantly talk up the English Premier League. You don't hear them bashing their own product. Continual media support is what has made the English game what it is. When will the muppets learn?
  3. Nah it wasn't me. I was listening to it I drove home from work, so couldn't phone in, but the disrespect the media show our club is disgusting. Like someone else said, if this had happened to Celtic or Rangers there would be a media outcry! What Craig Brown has done over the last few days is appalling and disrespecful. The media aren't interested because it's only little old Motherwell. BUT you know what, like after every other blow........we will keep on punching above our weight and might actually end up better off than we were under the two old sods! We are Motherwell........
  4. I was listening to the phone in on Clyde last night and was getting more and more wound up with that muppet Derek Johnstone! He was saying it was Motherwell's fault for not having Brown on a contract, but who to say it wasn't Brown who didn't want a contract, just so he could walk whenever he wanted to. I'm sure Brown has even admitted that at his age he didn't see the point in having a contract and that a gentlemans agreement was enough. Nobody really knows the truth other than JB, Leeane D, Brown & Knox! Derek Johnstone almost seemed to be revelling in Motherwell's misfortune on this one! Typical media......why do they hate us so much?
  5. I seem Salim Kerkar has gone on to have a trial game at Rangers, after playing in the Motherwell vs Motherwell game............. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-22495268/
  6. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ea-Orlandi.html Big Jutkiewicz is away to Coventry City on loan apparently! So that's the end of that one!
  7. Get in.........now lets kick on and get a couple more!
  8. Apparently wee Billy Davies has confirmed that he is not interested in Reynolds. The article quotes Davies, so it seems that possibility is out the window. http://www.thefootballnetwork.net/main/s675/st160043.htm
  9. Can a Mod just remove thisTopic seen as how it is offending the good readers of these here message boards. Cheers
  10. Oh aye I forgot.........a fans message board isn't the place to discuss thinks you have heard. Ill remember that the next time the 'Ins and Out' thread appears. If a message board isn't the place to discuss rumours, whether they are rubbish or not, then what is the point in said message board in the first place. AGAIN, I'm only telling you what I heard. He isn't a Motherwell fan, but has a soft spot for us! I'm definately don't believe the money stated, but he might have got that bit wrong, hell he might have got it all wrong, he might just be pulling my leg..................................................................... BUT Thewhole point of posting this on the boards was to see if anyone else had heard a similar rumour! Makes you wonder why....why bother posting right enough eh!
  11. I haven't said the name as it there is a chance it isn't true! You have to watch what you say!
  12. Read my last post, not the groundsman......the ex-chairman and current board member!
  13. Fair enough, but I'm only telling what I heard. I truely hope it is rubbish, but it definately came from a Board Member and former Chairman!
  14. I know Lambert said that as I read the article myself. The Norwich bit I can't believe myself, but apparently the club thought Broon only wanted £800 a week, but instead wanted £800k a year. It sounds crazy.........but it came from one of the board members!
  15. I heard today from someone who deals with a member of the board, that Craig Broon is off at the end of the season........aparently he is off to Norwich with Lambert going to Celtic. It is only a rumour, but it originates from high up inside the club, and I trust the source it came from. Shoot me down if you want, but I want him to stay, so really hope it is a load of pish!
  16. download Zattoo and you can watch it on that!
  17. has anyone got the actual link to the 810mw coverage as I can never find the actual page. It's the crapest website ever!
  18. Whoooooohoooooo! Get in there Sparky!

You know what, Big Lucas reminds me of Kyle Lafferty at Rangers! Was by no means prolific down in England, but was highly rated. Had a slow start to his Rangers career, and everyone was righting him off, but I bet if you asked a Rangers fan now they would love it if he was fit and back in their first team. He certainly started to score and contribute a lot to the team. Lucas will come on to a game for us, just you wait and see! Remember, Clarky had a couple of stinking seasons where he couldn't score for toffee, and was a major target for the boo boys.........incedentaly the same people who were then up in arms when we sold him on for decent money when he had started to play well. Fickle old bunch are Well supporters!
