A rag indeed.....

Liverpool are reportedly sending a scout to monitor his performance at Hampden Park when Motherwell take on Celtic on May 21 bidding to win only their second Scottish Cup since winning their first in 1991.

Shoddy journalism.

Ach they just got a bit mixed up wi' they word 'hings. Obviously meant to say "their first Scottish Cup since winning their second in 1991." Easy mistake to make for a deadhead.

Skysports.com understands Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey has won his first call-up to the Jamaica national team.

The Reggae Boyz have moved to fend off interest from Scotland to bring Humphrey into the international set-up.

Humphrey, who was born in Jamaica, is eligible to play for Scotland due to the fact his mother was born in Kilmarnock and Craig Levein was thought to be considering calling the former Shrewsbury man after being impressed by his performances this season.

The 22-year-old has been earning rave reviews and he has played a key role in helping Motherwellreach the Scottish Cup final against Celtic.

A number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Bolton and Birmingham are all thought to be tracking the jet-heeled wide-man.

Honour

Humphrey is delighted to win his first call-up with Jamaica for their training camp in Brazil ahead of next month's Gold Cup.

"It is a huge honour to get a call-up as every player wants to play international football," Humphrey told skysports.com.

"Even though I also qualify for Scotland, Jamaica were the first to pursue me and I am looking forward to linking up with the squad.

"However, at the minute my main focus is on this weekend's Scottish Cup final against Celtic."

Does it not get boring playing the same record?

(It works on two levels)

Three different incarnations since last summer, only one topic ever on the agenda. What exactly do you bring to this site?

Do you also reach for the tissues when Are You Being Served is on?

Ladywell, why should he change the record. He is spot on, it is excellent for Motherwell Football Club that we have an international player, going to be playing in a major Championship - or at least be in the squad for one (The Gold Cup) - and how would it not be deserved. He's plugged away this season and improved his game?

Also, do you not want to congratulate the player?

All he ever comments on is Chris Humphrey, nothing else, if an alien read his posts he'd think we had only one player, who should be up with Messi for FIFA World Player of the Year 2010-11. You got no issues with the regular name changes either?

With respect to Chris, yes he has improved this season and well done to him for getting a call up. I'm just not going to wax lyrical about someone who has the tools to be ahead of where he is at present. To be fair to him, he isn't the only one who's had issues this season, only Jenno, Randolph, Las and Murphy can say they've been more consistent.

Massive overreaction LT.

Well done to Humphrey, hope he grabs the opportunity with both hands.

Still feel that he isn't ready for Scotland yet, nowhere near it, but Levein could've done worse than chuck him on for a few minutes to secure his future just in case that big money move and career progression pans out.

Aye?

Have a look at my homepage and you'll see two posts on the open comments from Dazzer, aka Tartan Copper 2, aka Tartan_Copper, desperate to highlight the injustice he sees in anyone criticising the object of his affection.

When Chris gets a move, he'll be on the clubs forum singing his praises, never to be seen on here ever again.

Distinguish supporting a Motherwell player attaining an international call-up/cap with sycophantic man love.
