Also, standard stuff for Eastern Europe but a pen + paper is handy for negotiating with taxi drivers at the airport. Don't get into a taxi without agreeing a price first.

there's a regular bus that runs into urani square from the airport and only cost about 2 quid for a return. it's the 783 and you buy the ticket in the airport.

Getting pumped up for this game now! Hopefully we can get a result. Wish I could be going to this one but money and time contraints mean otherwise.

So i'm desperate for us to get through and hopefully get a team thats easy to get to. A big english team would do for me. Is there seeding in the next round does anyone know? Or could we get Hearts or Celtic if they don't qualify for the CL. Getting ahead of myself I know...

i've used my RBS maestro card in some very very very far flung out places. Anywhere that accepts mastercard will accept maestro aswell............u should be fine.

Maestro has been used in the wierdest wee bank machine in a far flung out part of india when a was there, so it should be fine in Romania.

We can't draw any other Scottish side until the knockout stage after the Groups. Basically Quarter Finals onwards. So, no chance of Hearts, Sheep or Tims.

There is seeding for the Playoff Round which is next, and that is where the big teams enter Everton, Villa, Villarreal, Valencia, Genoa etc. Like this round we will obviously be unseeded and guaranteed one of the big teams, in the unlikely event that we go past Steaua.

Thanks! Right, I'll just use my card when I'm there and take 100 euro as back-up

Anyone made any plans to meet up on the Wednesday night for 50p pints and 20p vodkas? Most of the hotels I've checked out online seem to be reasonably close so it shouldn't be too hard to find a pub that's handy for everyone.

What about we aww meet at the University Square(Piata Universitatii) or in the bar at Hotel Intercontinental and take it from there?

The mention of Intercontinental Hotel has prompted me to post this as I used to work for them in London.

Intercontinental are currently running an incentive scheme for their staff to try and sell bedrooms in Intercontinental Hotels & Holiday Inns worldwide on what is called a friends & family rate which is a few quid less than normal

Click here http://www.comeonout.org/ to find out more

I`ve no idea who Bill Johnson is but he posted the link up on a messageboard that ex Intercontinental staff use to keep in touch

Would that be this place??

Might be better going for the hotel bar. But I'm not fussed either way.

AK

Yeah that's the place(i had no idea what it was like just seemed well-shown on maps) - It was just a meeting place for us before finding a bar somewhere along street.

Not easy to pin-point a bar when you've never been in Bucharest. <_<

And here was me thinking you had it all arranged -_-

Seems like the ideal place to meet.

Just spoke to the club, ticket details will be on the official site in the next 15 minutes.

Theres an bar, just down the road from the Intercontinental, next to one of the casinos. As its outdoor, it would be easy to spot everyone. By the link the person posted above, IIRC its just about there.

Oh and there is no problem in using your cards in Romania, use both a Hungarian Visa electron and my HBOS debit card all the time.
