What would 'Well fans see as success this season? Same as last year, Top 6, Good cup run??? With the financial handcuffs placed on Craig & Archie, they will have done well if -----? Views? star sail Posted July 21, 2010 Report Share Posted July 21, 2010 I would expect Rangers, Celtic, Hibs, Dundee Utd, Hearts and Aberdeen to make up the top six so best I am hoping for is best of the rest. We have had a very succesful few seasons and the danger is that we begin to expect on a regular basis. Reality is that we are punching above our weight. Would love to reach the play off's in the Europa Cup (can we dream of the group stage?) and as far as domestic cups are concerned, not going out to a lower division team would be a good start. Burn_Broomfield Posted July 21, 2010 Report Share Posted July 21, 2010 Don't think the top six is too much an ask tbh. 4 of them are already sorted with Hibs and Utd joining the Old Firm there. I think we will fight it out with Hearts, Aberdeen, St Johnstone and possibly St Mirren, none of whom are any better than us. I pray for a great run in the Scottish Cup and again the League Cup. A good run in both cups is overdue, and getting through to the last qualifying round of the Europa League and pulling a plum tie would be sweet too. That is my hopes for the season, expectations would be avoiding a relegation scrap and doing well enough in the cups to make a wee bit of extra dosh. rab_mackinnon Posted July 21, 2010 Report Share Posted July 21, 2010 the potential is there , i'd love to hit top 6 football again thats got to be the first benchmark and we have the talent to do it. a cup run of some sorts preferably the scottish cup but reaching the final of a cup is doable. The ultimate though would be getting to the group stages of europa league the rest we've all done before but getting to the group stages would set this group of players apart from all the rest if we had that then didn't get relegated i'd take it over everything. no point living if you don't have a dream Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Im bored of Europe and it's not like finishing Top 6 gets us extra home games against the Old Firm OR gives us money to spend on the squad does it? Any time we can take one of their places is a huge, huge achievement in my eyes. We've done so poorly in the cups over the years, I have no hopes or expectations there...
