  1. Past hour
  2. I don't envy them either. Think O Neil has galvanised them too. I would have been more confident facing Rogers team.
  3. Yes he has 2. Next one will be third. I think Alex McLeish lost 4 finals
  4. Today
  5. I think we are all acknowledging it was a bad day and hopefully we respond in positive manner. I am quite sure players hurting as a huge missed opportunity for them. COYW
  6. Yes and No. However the kinda of fuck up we did against a very average St Mirren side (enough of this tactical genius pish by Robinson,) we did against Hearts, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Falkirk. We gift goals like its going out of fashion. I fancy us to beat ourselves again on Saturday.
  7. I'm thinking along similar lines. Robinson and his squad for me are more streetwise, been kicking around long enough and more accustomed to these types of big events. I'm a huge fan of our gaffer , squad and everything we're trying to do but I do feel the occasion overwhelmed the team . Fair play to StMirren they executed their plan ruthlessly. Overall it became a non event all too quickly and I just hope we can bounce back and put some results together. It could easily become a tipping point , it's essential that we come through the next few games with wins.
  8. Only shining light is 'Andy a Well fan' just beat Roger Hannah on beat the pundit on Clyde 2. Nice one
  9. I don't really envy a 4th consecutive cup final v Celtic tbh. St Mirren likely on a hiding to nothing. 1/5 of the stadium Their players will no doubt be be getting immediate bookings while Maeda runs around carte-blanche fouling as usual
  10. Dont think Welsh, Longelo, Maswanse or Slattery are 100% fit atm, and i doubt if our AP is either. But were kg trying to manage their playing time hence the shuffling of the team.
  11. Mind Welsh was taken off at It'd game , not 100% fit i suspect. He would be the managers first name on the sheet in defence if fit.
  12. We can question team selection etc all day, but to me, it felt like the magnitude of the occasion really got to the players as a group. We've seen plenty of examples of how 'risk and reward football' can go either way, but if you're too scared to take any risks, the outcome is almost inevitable.
  13. Hate to say it but a certain Bevis Mugabe would have won a lot of headers from the goalies kicks and handled the physical threat too. Granted the footwork would be hit and miss but his airiel abilities would have come in handy.
  14. 2 with us, cant think what other final he got to
  15. No matter what, we must lift ourselves for Aberdeen.😃
  16. It's possible Robinson may get close to record for most cup finals lost without winning one in Scotland. Think it's 4. If Celtic win in December, he would be on 3 losers medals.
  17. At our game on Saturday he was standing warming up when they scored their first goal and he stood and remonstrated with the linesman saying what looked like the ball was moving at the free kick, thought he was going to be booked because he wouldn’t let it go despite the linesman gesturing to him to move away. Might be a h*n but he was as pissed off as any of us.
  18. I’m not overly upset at 4-1. At 2-1 we had abandoned defending to try and save the game. We didn’t manage to score again amd they punished us at the back.
  19. Good build up to a well taken goal
  20. Better when you say nothing at all 😃
  21. it was not our day on Saturday. The first two goals had an element of luck. Others say the ball was moving at the quick free kick. I thought the player who received the ball was offside and the linesman was caught out by it. If the player had gone and scored instead of it going for a corner it would have been reviewed. The corner looked like a mis hit, a St Mirren player deflected it and it landed at a St Mirren players foot. The second goal was a great finish but again the ball was deflected into his path when a Motherwell player stuck out a leg. Two down was always going to be a tough gig. The managers team selection was wrong. Welsh should have played from the start and the handling of Slattery was all wrong. He changed the game at Livingstone and had a great game v United but should have been subbed off after 70 minutes to ensure he was ready for Saturday. Watt who has been outstanding played more bad passes on Saturday than he had in the whole season. Fadinger and Said were anonymous. That said maybe that is credit to St Mirren who allowed us to play it around at the back but once the ball was in midfield they chased and harried and got in our faces. It is now up to JBA to motivate the players and make sure we don't dwell on this. A win at Aberdeen would be great.
  22. I think it’s obvious Welsh took a knock against Dundee Utd and wasn’t 100% for Saturday. JBA I think rates him highly and he’d have started if he was fully fit. The Slattery one completely confused me though on Saturday, he needs to play as he brings the best out in Just, Watt and Fadinger. To play him for 90mins against Utd and drop him to the bench was utter madness. I really hope we have a proper reaction in this game following the disaster on Saturday. Surely our players must be fuming at themselves. Get out there and prove they are a good side.
  23. That is why Welsh not starting baffled me and why I think Askou got it wrong. Welsh is the only Centre Back we have that has the confidence and ability to push up and then pass the ball accurately into our midfield. And he has the pace others do not possess. Starting McGinn and Gordon as a pairing was the reason we saw so many negative passes along the back line. Also meant, especially on our left side, that our wide players could not charge forward. Made it so comfortable for St Mirren. Welsh simply has to start on Saturday.
