I suspect the next manager is already with us. The assistant manager is very much on the same mould, he had St Mirren youths playing the style we do now but the first team wouldn't adopt that style.
It is, it would have been a travesty if a bog average Hibs team had pipped us. Until the sending off we were in total control, real nice football. Final ball only thing missing. We've had some amout of officials rule against us this year. Would be great of we could keep the manager and most of the players for one more crack at some silverware. However we've got to be realistic. Well done to everyone at the club for absolutely the most memorable football I have witnessed in 50+ years. Also a huge well done to every Motherwell fan who has responded at the gates. It could have been quite easy not to buy into it early on but 90% of us did and stayed with it. To go from 5500 average crowd to 8600 in one season is frankly astonishing.
I think the ball may have hit his hand but his hand is there because the Celtic players shoulder pushed it into that position as he jumped and his upward momentum pushed Sparrows arm up. Therefore it's not a penalty.
A great season compared to other seasons, without doubt, but not compared to the high standards we've set and produced for 90% of this season. To potentially end behind a bog standard Hibs team is frankly a very poor return for this season, irrespective of how it compares to other season.
Every game is important , I talking about games that can define our season. To finish 5th for the football we've played and the standards we've set is frankly a miserable return. Sure if we measure it against previous seasons 5th is terrific but that's not our benchmark our benchmark has been our standards throughout this season and frankly the possibility of being pipped by a Hibs team who have been nothing special this season is pretty poor ending in my book.
No danger, season ending on a whimper. Hibs will be so fired up for this and I just don't think we've got it in us when the chips are down. Hope I'm wrong but it would be such a typical Motherwell way to end the season.
Correct, it has been a great season but we can't ignore some very obvious facts. When the chips are down we've come up short. We need to bury that stat on Saturday but I'm not convinced, it would just be typical to end our season in 5th having been 4th for so long. One win in 9 is poor irrespective how the games have actually panned out.
Our record in crucial games this season is poor.
LC Semi Final Lost to shite
SC Lost to Shite
Chance to all but seal Europe draw with Hearts
Chance to secure 4th Lose to Celtic.
We just can't seem to get these game over the line. I don't fancy us against Hibs at Easter Road.
I suspect SOD and Gordon will be the central defensive partnership. They have a big ask tomorrow but who knows. I do think VAR will play a part and not to our benefit.
He may well do , all I'm saying is I disagree. We have set some genuinely outstanding benchmarks this season and Saturday wasn't one of them. I just happen to disagree that we were not outstanding , it's not a criminal offence to disagree with the manager.
