I'm aware of that but doesn't stop me hating it. Just because something is traditional doesn't mean it can't be bettered. Some traditionalists would still have us in the dark ages.
Im well aware of that but the inference in the original post was be better at some time to be looking at managers who know the league and as my post says knowing the laeague means fuck all . Its the ability of the manager and you dont need to know the league to be a success.
I would still rather go for guys who try to continue the journey we started than watch the usual unimaginative pish generally served up by the Largs mafia. Sure Robinson won a cup but I wouldnt like to watch the dross St Mirren fans watched this season and you dont need to be good to win a cup as both St Mirren and Aberdeen have proved.
Robinson knows league nearly got St Mirren relegated. Kettlewell knows league nearly got Killie relegated. Jim Goodwin knows league inside out & DU were pish. Id rather we tried something different than the Scottish "Merry Go Round " fuckers who change club every couple of years and achieve fuck all.
I think Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeens budgets are considerably higher. Aberdeen had 3 players on >£20,000 a week and the average wage being £5000 a week, that's considerably more that Motherwell. Hibs and Hearts will pay similarly.
I know it's all conjecture but with the reported £4.5 million for LM and if we were to sell Maswanhise, Watt and Just all for £4 million each the clubs sitting on potentially £16/£17 million quid. I'd rather keep Watt and Just but think we may keep Just for one more year and sell Watt surely with that kind of cash we could attract some decent talent. Well decent for the SPFL.
Should we bite the bullet and sign Welsh? He's reportedly on £6500 a week and one more year on his contract. Give him a signing on fee to cover that years wages (£340,000) and agree a wage we can live with. Anyone think we should.
I don't think he was shite but he is not as brilliant as some would have you believe. I think the time for him to move is right. I think he's a bit like Theo Bair, I think we got the best out of him. Hope he does well for Anderlecht.
But we are not going to have a massive rebuild. All our player are contracted until 2028. Motherwell are not going to have a fire sale. I suspect we will cash in on Maswanhise , daft not to and possibly Watt but I think that's about it. This is one season where we won't have a massive rebuild.
My biggest hope is it starts to dispell the "Scottish mindset" where they are beat in their heads before they face the OF. Our displays against them this season are night and day compared to the last 20 years particularly at Ibrox and Parkhead.
