Although it was 0-0 with this team
-
Seems pretty clear what the manager considers his first eleven at the moment given this is the same team that started vs Morton. Although I've only seen two games so far, irrespective of whether they're good enough, I find it hard to argue that it's the best eleven we have...
-
Same starting xi as Tuesday. I won't be there but COYW

As long as its not lifted by 8 and in the cells till Monday sounds like a good night out.

Anyone have a working link to buy the game on PPV? The link the club have provided in their match info section doesn't work for me
-
It’s all ifs and buts just now. For what it’s worth, I didn’t rate Stama even before the transfer talk, so that’s definitely shaping my view that any profit is good profit. Either way, we need a new starting CF.
-
Someone did the maths including his wages, I'm not going that far. But initially I thought £500k profit, take it. I was forgetting Newcastle Jets may have negotiated a sell on percentage. So while we'd still make a profit, might not be a huge one. Large enough to make up for having to bed a new striker in seven days before the season starts? That's a judgement call for the board and the manager... That's the conversation people are having. No one is suggesting Stamatelopolous is the only striker on earth...
-
Her words.
-
Some folks are discussing Stama as if he’s the last striker on earth. He’s replaceable. And a profit for him, of any kind, would be a steal. We’re a player trading club after all. We should be looking to cash in and offer that money for Ronan Hale or similar. I’m confident JBA already has CF additions lined up.
-
Aye, bit too far there chief.
- Yesterday

We are all well fans - c'mon.
-
I'll take that bet - if both play the full season. DM Me.
-
Let's leave this exchange here eh. We have different views and that's completely fine BTW. I completely respect your opinion even though I don't agree with it
-
So who plays up front when we play Rangers first game of the season if we sell Stam - just also going to point out that I'm not the only person on here who has said the same I personally don't care what the Miller money is going to be used for. Having no striker ten days before the start of a season would be absolute madness in my view
-
Prepare to be amazed minion.
-
We cannot afford to turn down offers like that for (in my opinion ) a bang average player who has done nothing in a motherwell shirt so far to convince me otherwise. The money we get for Lennon will most likely be used on infrastructure within fir park or a training ground so we will still need money for players in the future , we don't know when our next big player sale is coming from so we have to cash in when offered silly money for a bang average player . I have faith in JBA knowing what he is doing unlike one of our previous managers.
-
His last injury was from getting a ball hit off his arm in training and it broke it - the Stam is made of chocolate really needs to be re evaluated in my view. Of course it's speculation that an Italian club might sign Miller but most people think he's going to go in the next couple of weeks - and if that's the case - we don't need to sell Stam I like Maswanhise but I wouldn't count on him to score a certain amount of goals -for a few reasons. Anyway. It's up to Motherwell and JBA. Not a minion like me The first game is a week on Saturday. I would be amazed if we had a striker signed prior to then
-
It quite possibly the reason we knocked the offer back that we are playing hardball and hoping they come up with a better offer. It's speculation only that an Italian club might sign Lennon . JBA will know of many strikers that we could sign that are better than ap stam We are a selling club , fact. We would not start the season without a striker. The transfer window is open until the end of August. If I was a betting man I would put money on tawanda to score more goals ap stam over the season. And lastly he might get a paper cut tomorrow and be out for six months .
-
I don't know. But given the fact that we knocked the offer for Stam back it might allude to the fact that JBA wants to keep him - because as other people have said we don't need the money - apparently Udinese are going to make an improved offer for Miller in the next couple of days It would be absolute madness us starting next season with no striker BTW - if we sign Hale or someone else I might re evaluate but as it stands I'm for keeping Stam
-
How do you know that JBA hasn't already sourced one?Two weeks is a long time in football.
-
So where's the next striker lining up to sign for Motherwell? You tell me who you think we are going to sign before our first game of the season? In two weeks time Actually less than two weeks time - 9 days time. Who are we going to sign to replace Stam in the next 9 days?
-
Is there a world shortage of strikers .
-
Ok I’m plucking figures out of the air here but £250k to buy plus say £50k signing on fee and a years wage at say £3k per week, £150k, gives us a potential £450k outlay on him. Add the sell on fee and what’s left is not a lot for the club. Keep him a year and if he has a good season we could get around £1.5m. Buying him was a gamble, why cash in early for next to no return?
-
Im going to be my predictable self here and think we should keep Ap Stam He didn't spend all of last year on the treatment table. Yes he had injuries but the second one was a freak one. A ball hit off his arm in training and he broke his wrist. He made 16 appearances last season - a lot more than some other players who were injured did Who do we get to replace him? Do we really want to go into this season with no striker? And - I don't care whether he smiles a lot or if he has resting bitch face as long as he gets the job done I'll caveat that by saying I think we need another striker but I'm definitely on the side of keeping him
