First glimpse of the team I've caught this season. Only tuned in for the final 30 minutes and caught the 2nd and 3rd goals. Impression: You can clearly see the style JBA is trying to implement on the team, and there were some promising moves. Individually, you can see there are some players in the team eho really struggle with the idea of retaining the ball and looking for a pass. It goes back a bit to that general lack of quality in Scottish Football. It's not even just technical ability, it's also creativity and confidence. We've seen with the national team how painful it can be to watch players playing a possession game, but without confidence and quality. We need to avoid that at all costs. There's no certainty this style is going to work with the players we have at our disposal and the nature of the league, but I've seen enough to look forward to the new season and hope to see further improvement. And we are the first through to the next round!

Obviously the best performance of the group stages, kept our tempo high for the 90 minutes which you can probably put down to improving fitness. Overall, although we were better tonight, I thought all the same issues as we'd see before where still there. Thought there was a few stray passes, kinda struggled to create chances and our final ball needed to be better. And although we weren't put under loads of pressure I still thought Morton should have scored twice in the first half. Still it was a step forward and Maswanhise's second was our first great goal of the season. Lots of work on and improve on but there was signs there that we are going forward.

Sitting 3rd in the group right now too, behind East Fife and Kelty Hearts.
-
What a strike that was from Maswanhise for that third goal
-
More load balancing, bit more progression in our tactics and play, AP scores, clean sheet, top of the group. Now for fun, scroll back through the thread to read the complaints.

Not that I hold a grudge or anything, but an awfy shame to see Kettlewell's Killie lose on penalties to, er, Kelty Hearts

Get a life, what do you want every week Barcafukinlona , give some credit to the team for a change ffs

Wellβ¦I did think it would be 3-0. Good job done in the end and a special strike to seal it from TM.
-
Beautiful!Ap scored, clean sheet and topped the group.

The miserable cu*t mjc must be crying into his half empty glass, thought we played some nice fitba, plenty still to do but we've a few comfortable flair players, new management and players take time to adjust but it's better than sk football brand, defence need addiron and a big physical striker will do,looking forward to season.

Ignoring the first half brain fart. That was a very comfortable win against a team we have struggled with in the past. There was only about 3 hoofs up the park all game. Controlled the game from start to finish. Everyone played their part. Full backs did very well and even Gordon was spraying ball about. Still need to add more quality, as their was a drop off with subs. Ap getting a goal from a foot out was what he needed!

Well I thought on Saturday we were really poor so Iβm pleasantly surprised by that. I thought it was an all round good performance. We lost our way a little but dug in, got our goal and I thought weβd drive on from there but there was another lull. Fadinger taken off affected us (heβs a great player) but we kept playing and ran out good winners, 2 great goals, really excellent. some very good performances there tonight. Really happy with a number of the new guys, at times we looked a very good side but there were a few occasions defensively we slipped back into old habits. Miles better than Iβve seen so farβ¦ cmon the well.
