Tuned back in just in time to see HJK going 3-0 down midway through the second half.

I’ve never seen us play in European competition, home or away but have seen us in 3 cup finals. (4 if you count the summer Cup 😂) Need us to get past HJK and Freiburg and then I’d be able to jump over and catch a game in the league stages.

Great post mate, but just wanted to touch on this point from a different perspective. Said I think is a tremendous talent and technically one of the most skillful players i've seen at FP. His close control is unreal. I know what you mean about some decision making and simple things not quite working at times, but personally i'd rather watch him week in week out than not. If AJ can help with these small things we'll have one hell of player there and he's still relatively young is he not - 23 or 24? As an aside, was speaking to a hibs supporter at my work who said he thought RCC caused them a lot of problems which was interesting to hear. Maybe we don't give him the credit he's due or have higher expectations given his experience/ past with ross county in the league. Onwards to Helsinki! Buzzing as it will be my first away euro trip with the well after regrettably missing euro adventures in the past for various reasons. COYW

Not saying HJK are easy or that we will beat them but I don’t think we should be afraid of them. Had a look at Finnish league and I don’t really know any of the teams. I see Aberdeen drew their two games with them a few years ago. In the conference league they have played 28 games, lost 15, drawn 6 and won 7

Freiburg would be a great away trip too. I went about 10 years ago. Easy transport. Great fans, stadium and beer. Tough games to come of course but fingers crossed.

As others have said a wee bit of a mixed bag. Some very good, some good and some bad but on balance a great result at a place where others will struggle. I think it’s worth bearing in mind that with us playing our European ties on Thursdays, especially the away legs, that fatigue will be a big factor in the league games we play afterwards, particularly this early in the season. You see this a lot with teams more used to this than us so I think the players need to be cut some slack if this happens.

Need to just keep plugging away, hopefully beat HJK home and away and increase our club-coefficient for next year.

Difficult tie. Finished 7th in the German top division last season. Seems particularly tough when you consider that Rangers could be playing Larne for Europa League qualification. 3rd place would have been potentially massive last season in helping negotiate these early rounds.

Watched the after match celebrations with the fans,noticed lowry in background very subdued,pre hb airport the same, everyones personality is different but i hope he falls in love with this club as even in the small part he played in the winning goal you can see he has awareness,body postioning and technical ability to be a great addition to the team,i think hes a class act and hopefuly we can benefit.

He was also left alone to deal with Hibs player in his face, obstructing him, prior to corner kicks. So good to acknowledge some things he can do better but his performance overall was excellent with a few really good saves.
