  1. Past hour
  2. Very much my feelings. I just could not believe what I was watching. I still find it hard to believe how comfortable it was in the end. The Ainsworth goal is a thing of beauty and Baraclough is forgiven everything in my eyes for giving us that fantastic double header result.
  3. Despite hammering them in the first game, I could barely watch the second leg. Even after Marvin's precision finish I was pacing around and turning the TV off and on. I think I chilled out after the 6th went in.
  4. Likewise and me underestimating the pre-match traffic didn’t help me either. No game has got the juices flowing quite the same since but the sound of Ainsworth’s strike hitting the net will live with me forever. As well as Baraclough, Burrows also played a blinder. He set the tone by standing firm on the ticket allocation.
  5. Definitely were in the right mindset. Las in the tunnel before game at FP was totally focused whilst Lee McCulloch was checking his hair
  6. On 31st May. (But available now on BBC iplayer) 🤣🤣
  7. A bottle of bucky settled me down... ...what an evening that was at Ibrox, and as someone else above said 'how were we in that position' with players like Johnson, Ainsworth, Pearson, McManus and McDonald. When do we see 'episode 2'?
  8. 410 games at a 50% win percentage. There's a bunch of championship seasons in there, but also taking hearts to 3rd a couple of times and winning a cup. Other championship managers have been touted on here, so I don't see why that should be a blocker. Put his exact experience and stats on a foreign manager, and we'd be hailing it as a great appointment. Any experienced manager is going to split opinion, because you don't go 10 years in management without ups and downs. Like I said, I don't want him because I've never really liked him, maybe that's because I don't like hearts. But the argument that he isn't good enough is silly. Most of us want an exciting manager from outside of Scotland because it's something new, and there's the chance we find a diamond in the rough. Bringing in someone with considerable experience makes that less likely, so it's boring.
  9. Today
  10. What stats, winning games in the league below, neilson gets binned every club he's been at,I'm not saying there's going to be a queue of quality candidates to pick from but there really isn't any excuse to be settling for someone like robbie neilson.
  11. " shit manager" ? Stats don't back that up . Like I say , I'd rather we were a bit more imaginative but if it's yo be Scottish, wouldn't be worst.
  12. Yep, I'd like us to go for the high press, high intensity stuff...what's that Michael Wimmer character up to these days? Just saying Neilson is one of better Scottish managers I've seen quoted.
  13. I was watching the first leg on the telly and at half time the commentators sole topic of discussion was what would happen when The R*****s came out and got an early second half goal. The Ainsworth goal put paid to the 'when Rangers get back to the top flight' chat, at least until papers needed sold up until the 2nd leg. They went back to 'an early goal for Rangers and Motherwell will crumble' chat.
  14. I know it’s been said many times but I’ll say it again. Having an ‘outsider’ in charge like Baraclough who didn’t pander to Rangers and allow us to play the name rather than the team in front of us was a major reason why we won that playoff. His predecessor and opposite number in those games would have had us beaten before the team bus left Fir Park and the fact that it was McCall in their dugout made that all the more satisfying given the number of big games we had bottled under his watch.
  15. If another manager was available who had 3 years in the championship with Neilson's record, we'd be all over it, jeez, some people want Imrie. I don't really like Neilson, mainly because of how he comes across, but he's a good manager.
  16. What a game probably in top three best games I've been to in my 50 years following The Well. What an atmosphere first time we sang twist and shout I think and everyone got it perfect. Total inspiration and bit of a surprise result . I wasn't expecting that traveling in on the M74 along side the entitled blue and white hoards if I'm honest. But Ainsworth goal...... Oh my goodness. Still smile when I see it.
  17. 2nd leg would have been an easier watch if Rangers had scored at Ibrox. After the first 20 at Fir Park, however, I was confident we would win as we started to take control of the game.
  18. First spell in the Championship he won it with 21 points to spare, ahead of Hibs and Rangers, and fielding quite a few youngsters. Easier than the Premiership of course, but not a run-of-the-mill title. In general, I have no issues employing a manager that knows our league and has had multiple successes in the Championship. But as I also said, I can't see him being who we bring in
  19. The feeling when Ainsworth scored to make it 3-0 at the start of the second half was one of the best I’ve ever had following Motherwell. It was actually hard to believe it was really happening at the time seeing us 3-0 up at Ibrox, limbs going everywhere in our end while the rest of the ground sat in utter disbelief and despair. I still thought we’d somehow blow it though and that didn’t change until we went 2-0 up at Fir Park on the Sunday.
  20. I've never been so nervous before a football match in all my life as I was that night.
  21. Good point, had forgotten about that. Maybe championship would be better for him, certainly don't want him discovering that he's not Premier League standard whilst with us.
  22. On one hand, it was an obviously memorable playoff that we all enjoyed. Especially the first leg. On the other hand, it's still a mystery how a team with so many good players finished in the playoff spot. I agree Baraclough played a blinder on and off the park. Handled the media perfectly and got the players into exactly the right mindset. Also loved the fact that Gary McAllister was the co-commentator on the broadcasts.
  23. Most of they wins would have came in the championship when at hearts and utd.he seems to do well at that level,I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at thistle or ross county if the get rid of there manager.
  24. I'd be fine with Morton and Peterhead away and the other two at home so we get 4 games on grass.
  25. Neilson had a decent record at Hearts both spells. Given he played at right back, he might even know how to organise a defence. Wouldn't be my first choice, but can't see him ending up at Fir Park anyway,
  26. Also, their "traditional" designs are not too traditional. Dundee Utd, for example, didn't start playing in tangerine until 1969 and Aberdeen played in yellow and black stripes for about 40 years before they changed to the "traditional" red.
  27. Not saying that I would like to see him get the job but he has a pretty good win percentage, other than his spell in England.
