I agree, I've not seen the ins and outs of yesterday but sounds like the narrative is celtic fans over exuberant, rangers aggressive. I've worked and been in the company of celtic fans to know what some can be like
-
I don’t want to poke a bear (literally) but are you a Motherwell fan? Have you ever attended a Motherwell match? im pretty sure every single post I’ve seen from you is suggesting we’ll lose whatever game we are playing? I may be totally wrong and I’m sorry if I have the wrong end of the stick but it just seems you are a rangers fan trolling us? Which again…. Is fine but just a bit odd
-
Unless it's you predicting we'll lose....
-
A lot of people are interested in what went on yesterday. Like it or not the Old Firm generates a lot of interest. But you’re right, this thread isn’t really the place for this discussion. As for Saturday, we will lose, nothing surer.
-
I don’t know but even if they did it’s irrelevant to the incident at the end of the game. You’re just trying to move the spotlight back onto Rangers with that comment.
-
I've heard some folk think every day's the 12th of July. You're obviously interested in what went on yesterday. Fair enough, but unless it affects our game on Saturday, is this really the place for it?
-
Did Rangers fans not jump onto the park when Fernandez slam dunked it into the Celtic net? anyway, the whole whataboutery is pathetic and really has hee haw to do with us. I just found the whole thing totally distasteful…… and I know I shouldn’t…quite funny!! Both support highlighted for what the are….. an embarrassment on to Saturday now and watching Celtic yesterday, we should have nothing to fear…. They really aren’t that good
-
What happened shouldn’t have happened and neither set of fans comes out of it well. But Celtic fans are the ones who caused the entire situation. They were first on the park, they charged towards the half way line goading Rangers players and fans and their players and coaching staff appeared to be encouraging them. It was inevitable that Rangers fans would react and that doesn’t reflect well on them either, but it was always going to happen once the other lot entered the park. People can spin it any way they want and indeed they will, but the evidence is there. There are several videos and pictures showing the incident that clearly show which set of fans instigated the entire thing. To suggest otherwise is basically like saying that today, Monday 9th March 2026, isn’t Monday 9th March 2026 but in fact Wednesday 12th July 2023.

Unless they physically dragged Rangers fans onto the pitch, they're both to blame. People are responsible for their own actions, and since neither of them will ever give a toss about anyone else, I'm happy to reciprocate. If we turn up on Saturday, Celtic are there for the beating. Is that our allocation sold out?
-
Neither comes out of it well, but what happened at the end of the game was Celtic fans fault because they instigated the entire thing by invading the park. Anyone who believes, or pretends to believe otherwise is deluding themselves and enabling Celtic and the control they have over football, the authorities and large parts of society in general.
-
They're both really to blame. End of story.
-
Celtic have previous for this as we saw at Fir Park a few years back. Hundreds of their fans jumping on the park, confronting stewards and players. They are out of control and can basically do what they like because the authorities are terrified of them and their club. But it’s the easier and ‘safer’ option to just blame Rangers, even when all the evidence points to who really is to blame.
-
Because this was Scottish cup would it play a part in them being fined/docked points etc for the league? I can’t see them docked anything as I think it’ll be a fine but there could be the possibility of their next game being behind closed doors? Who knows!!
-
Just when you thought the sectarian bigotry was bad enough, the thugs managed to set the game back another 50 years yesterday. 10 point fine for both, would be a good start, but the authorities will bottle it and make excuses. Away win for this game
-
Celtic fans are better at rushing fire exits to get in without tickets than their team are at stringing three passes together. We should be looking to pump them.

Tyler Magloire playing for Port Vale when they knocked Sunderland out the cup today.

Apparently Grizzly is contagious
-
I don't get along to many games now Dave but I'm still Motherwell through and through. Take care .
-
This is a one off season . Enjoy it because the Gaffer and players will be away at the end of the season. It's been brilliant and not finished yet coyw.
-
My view is nothing has changed since 1980...back then fans were wearing flares, now they're throwing them...I've waited a long time for that one. They did blame booze back then, think everyone knows that wasn't a major factor
-
There is absolutely zero chance of strict liability being enforced Dave, whatever the outcome the ugly sisters dont want it so the SFA / SPFL will just go ok then and quietly drop it.
-
I don't know. I didn't think we were ever in with much of chance of winning the title and had completely dismissed that possibility and ignored all chat about it. As for the top three, the odds are very, very heavily stacked against us and again I'm focused on finishing 4th. As Wellfan rightly says though thats ours to lose, and if we finish up up in 5th place then thats what we'll have deserved, no less and no more. An achievement in its own right.
-
I don't think that helped Grizzly but I think on the night, Aberdeen would have beaten any 11 we could have fielded. Their luck was in and you simply cannot beat that, no matter how good you might be. Weeyin has just taken the words off my keyboard. You need a lot of good luck to win a cup and St Mirren have that precious quality in spadefuls. It'll take a good but, more importantly, an even luckier team to stop them winning a second cup.
-
Going down to 9 men blew it. When it was 10 v 10 we were well in the game. Also, we had what everyone agreed is our strongest 11 start yesterday, so no guarantees. I keep saying you need a slice of luck to win a cup. St Mirren's pen award is a great example.
-
We've gone from winning title chat to struggling to finish 4th. I mean we're still just 5 pts behind Champions League qualification. Long way to go for chat, in both directions.
