I remember a cup game we drew at Ochilview (0 - 0 I think) and went on to score 6 in the replay. Another plastic pitch, but I expect more improvement and a win. Would love to see a new central defender signed before then. McCowan's Highland Toffee anyone?

Fadinger

To give SOD credit, he did change the game a bit when he came on. He played a wicked cross into the box and rolled a nice through ball into the box (sorry, I don't recall who got on to the end of it). Unfortunately, he also sclaffed one right across field that could have been a bit more embarrassing than it was. He gave 100% when he came on, and I will always appreciate players that give their all.

Nice wee trip to this one. Team still finding its rhythm. But we can see improvements every game. A win for us.

Fadinger and Watt the two standouts for me.

Of the new guys tonight I thought that Fadinger and Watt did well. I have high hopes for those guys as the season develops. I need to see more of Longelo, Just and Sule. Longelo had a couple of decent strikes, was keen to go forward, but wasn't tested defensively. Just has good feet, but tries to do too much at times. Sule got next to no service.

Do you only chat about football when you're at the game? The mods on here are useless anyway, so doubt anything will change. Meanwhile, we only win games this season when SOD is playing. Discuss.

Interesting how Watt’s performance has split opinion. I wonder what the his expected role is. I can see him more in a deeper role initiating the play with Slatts and Faddy expected to be more dynamic in their movement. Tonight it didn’t quite click between them.

Yeah, and that was another one tonight, but at least we got the win (just).

Maswanhise was definitely more effective on Saturday. Although, tbf, Peterhead kept a good defensive shape that kept space behind to a minimum.

It's not me that cracks the jokes to be fair.....

Just shows you how people can see things differently. I thought Watt shows promise and played a couple of passes that with better movement ahead could have led to something. And thought Maswanhise offered little when he came on. His pace is a tfreat but seemed unwilling to try and beat his man. Goal aside, I also wasn't convinced by Longelo although I agree Fadinger shows promise. Don't think he's a winger though...

True, not writing him off by any means, only that I didn’t think he had anywhere near a ‘superior player’ type of game.

Just listened to JBA's post match and he mentioned AP needs better crosses to be effective. He definitely looks more effective with the ball in front of him.

If we're still going to play with wingbacks, the two in the middle are going to have to be bloody good along with the sweeperkeeper behind them.

Early days for Watt, but I was encouraged that at least he was getting involved and didn't hide.

Just home and not entirely sure what to make of that, so I’ll stick to the positives and negatives. Positives Watt and Fadinger look like tidy additions to the midfield. Connelly looked fairly comfortable on his first start — barely tested, but not at fault for their goal. Manny could be moulded into a diamond with time. Just is a tricky wee player who I reckon will be useful in certain games. Slattery’s cross for the goal. Negatives The defence. Again. Jesus Christ. Wilson — what on earth has happened to him? I’m not sure how Sparrow fits into this team now. Stama is either crap or not being used to his strengths. The rain.

Fadinger had a bit of bite, some deft touches, and good movement into the box and finally got reward.

When I was learning to drive, my mum used to make me drive her to Fine Fare on late night opening Wednesdays "for practice". Or it might have been Gateway by then. Back to the football - we need two new central defenders ASAP.
