  1. Past hour
  2. Honestly as a Motherwell fan an alternative history might be a better read than actual facts! 🤣
  3. If we're averaging 3 goals per game you should come more often!
  4. Easy one today. His middle name is Jethro apparently!
  5. I talked to quite a number of fans walking to the game and queuing outside and most of them said its the first time in ages they were genuinely excited about the opening game.
  6. I thought Gordon was worse than Balmer today, and balmer was bad!
  7. If anyone was excited about a game at NDP I can only assume this is their first season following the sport. There has not been an entertaining game in that stadium since the day they rolled out that plastic abomination, regardless of the teams involved. As for masters of the letdown, every set of fans say that, and ours forget to say it when, for example, we stuff Rangers in a play off (or cup semi), get 2nd place with a last gasp winner at Pittodrie or beat Dundee Utd in front of a huge crowd. We win our fair share of big games, but we're not big enough to win them all. See Dundee or St Mirren for other examples.
  8. Today
  9. I know I'm banging on a bit but it was good to have it back 😆
  10. Glad we got the bonus point, not great viewing but enjoyed it at the same time Makes sense going straight to penalties instead of playing extra time , especially in heat like today
  11. Reminds of another banner they had " acab" with a picture of ravenscrig, probably heaviest thing they've ever lifted is their school pencil...I know you'll grow up one day guys but it's all a bit clichéd.
  12. The volleyball was tedious, if you want to play games go to the swing park.
  13. Motherwell are the absolute masters of the let down. I've rarely seen so many Motherwell fans genuinely excited going into a game. Big crowd , enthusiasm from the stands and we fail to deliver yet again. However I'll not get too wound up, it was the first game and absolutely brutal playing conditions. I swear one day we will put on a performance when the fans turn out in numbers.
  14. For ultras once they got their 'fuck the police' chant out the way early and played with their ball they hardly made any noise at all.
  15. I think this is one of those times where continental managers come in and assume players at a top league level can actually control, pass the ball and play out from the back. He's going to find out they can't.
  16. Characters or dicks...you pays your money you takes your choice Thought I was the only one who found the " volleyball " tedious.. I am grumpy old bugger tbf
  17. No need to pay at all. Just print off some random QR code show it to the guy at the barrier and he'll wave you through! 🤣
  18. The " sweeper keeper" thing is hoing to be risk and reward...obviously today we got caught out but he's one of better players and wouldn't expect that to happen often.
  19. First game of the season, very hot weather, a pitch that is shite at the best of times and was even worse today, all these things pointed to it being a difficult opener and it was. I thought going forward we were alright all things considered, hardly scintillating but taking the above into consideration, OK. Defensively we were a shambles. Clyde played right through the middle of us about three times in the first half. No one looked comfortable playing out from the back, poor passing was standard and the sweeper keeper thing which I assume came from the manager looked like it was going to cost us and it did. Can't really judge any of the new guys at this stage but I thought Fadinger looked OK in the first half. O'Donnell is still gash and Stamatopoulos looks like the most fragile Australian of all time and you can see why he didn't take up Aussie Rules. Clyde hit the post, we probably should have scored at least one more and Maswanhise was the stand out. O'Donnell needs replaced ASAP and I think there are some big question marks over the likes of Balmer and Koutroumbis. Out of that back 4 and keeper the only one I think is viable over the season is Gordon.
  20. Forgot to put sule looks like he could be useful.
  21. Yep. He is very balanced...today reminded me why I don't to many away games , so many people losing their shit. It wasn't great but I could see signs especially in first half , how he wants us to play, full backs getting well up pitch. Slatts should have won it at end but in general he's a top player so cut him some slack. On another note. It's embarrassing to see folk manhandling stewards who are trying to do their job, although not sure trying to " lift" a guy for letting off a flare is worth it. Most of them couldn't fight sleep but I wouldn't be wading in for minimum wages. Also the older guy on the way out who called the young female steward a :"fuckin cow", have a look at yourself ...I know it's hot and drink has been taken but if that was your daughter....anyway like I say I don't go the away games much so don't usually come across the seedier stuff. Coyw
  22. Good following today and a right few roasters among them, pulled one up for trying to wreck a seat, spent about 15 mins punching and throwing a ball about which could easily smacked of an elderly person not bothering a fuck about game, same later when it was 2 each.then there was the masked twat with the flare.
  23. Well if he can't see the defensive issues and sort it then we are pretty much screwed then lol. I agree JBA tells it how it is I like his no nonsense speaking.
  24. I hope we have a centre half and a right back and a keeper on the way.
  25. A good assessment from JBA there. Accepts that it wasn’t good enough and didn’t win but very balanced and states that we have to go and win on Tuesday. He certainly speaks well.
  26. Thought Fadi did alright, a busy little player, always pressuring the ball-carrier.
