That second goal we conceded started from us having a goal kick. Lost possession in final 3rd as keeper panicked about playing it out from back and subsequently flapped and missed the cross. Was similar goal conceded in schools football every week. Badly need to address goalkeeper issue. That's 4 points cost now. Also O'Donnell looked uncomfortable at times having to pass instead of launching balls.
-
Aye step one get rid of a poor goalkeeper making schoolboy errors , not unlucky, not deflections mistakes and costing us draws instead of wins that's 4 points lost in two games ,Ox time now.
-
Actually just going to bed after that thanks ward.
-
I've heard of keepers that can play with their hands and not their feet but never a keeper that can play with his feet and not his hands. 4 points in a week he's cost us. Ox at Dundee please. Completely dominant again but you can't account for your keeper selling the jerseys like that.
-
Was that what the minutes applause was for?
-
We've scored 5 goals in the last 2 games and failed to win any,the problem is definitely at the back.
-
Shocking goal keeping cost us 2 points last week, and the same again today, all our great play counts for nothing if we cant rely on a keeper to catch a feckin Ball under no pressure at all. Once we went 2-1 Killie never looked like scoring until Motherwells version of Andre Onana played his part, he needs dropped ASAP. We played some great stuff today, especially Longelo and just and never got the reward it deserved, 4 points behind where we should be after 4 games, sort the keeper and defence out and hopefully we can start winning.
-
They heard you were on holiday 😂
-
You are right. As poor as the defence is at points it's the being poor up top thats costing us more in my view
-
We need to improve up top (seems strange after scoring 5 goals in two games but I think it’s a fair comment) and in defence. Having said that, when you consider that we have dropped 4 points due to glaring errors, you have to say that our style of play is working. As mentioned in another post it’s the glaring errors that need to be fixed, not our style/tactics.
-
Honestly. I don't know. Keepers don't tend to be dropped even when they are struggling. There were calls to drop Kelly at one point - but I'm sure if JBA thinks a change is needed then he will change things up. I don't think Ward is a bad keeper and I don't think Ox is either
-
Big JBA is gutted we did not win. Wonder if Ward has even entered the dressing room yet? lol
-
7000!! Wow
-
He has made mistakes also but would you seriously start ward next game when he has cost us 4pts in last 2 games? Anyway still unbeaten
-
Just in from the game and I can’t quite believe Killies equaliser. I was right on line with the cross and ward was never getting it, when it was clear he wasn’t getting it, why the hell not punch it or palm it over the bar. So annoying in particular as I think Ward had done absolutely fine up to that point. I felt we looked really comfortable at 2-1 as well, so frustrating and I don’t think the subs helped at all. I Still see nothing in Hendry, hopefully he’ll turn good but im just not impressed. Charles-Cook looks handy right enough but I thought the 3 subs at the same time didn’t work. overall I was still impressed how we played and a win is sure to come soon. also nearly 7000 there today, long may that continue

Just back from game. Thought we played well in spells and dominated possession. Thought the 3 changes made prior to end cost us some consistency. Main concern is the 2nd goal we conceded. It came from us having possession at back. Goalkeeper panicking to pass ball to defender and mis placed pass, subsequently knocked out of play. They scored from another mistake from keeper after that. I think there are times when ball could be either thrown or kicked longer. I do think we need better keeper and Ox needs chance. We needed a keeper to command area. Need alternate strategy from when we have goal kicks as teams are well aware of this weakness.

Of course and that’s why I emphasised the context of the result. Before a game at Tynecastle you take a 3-3 draw straight away. However we were 3-0 up and comfortable with 20 minutes to go and we failed to win. It wasn’t a bad result to draw that game but at the same time it was definitely two points lost and a missed opportunity. We saw the same today, 2-1 up and relatively comfortable and…we saw what happened.

Kilie fan on Sportsound. "We have 4 draws, they have 4 draws, I would rather watch their draws than ours..."
-
If true, we dont know what has been said behind the scenes. Perhaps it was always the intention to sell him this window, as he was never going to resign another contract. Hearts splashed £1.5/7m on a player and Hibs £1m bench warmer, lets us see what we are competing against. We do need some more bodies in.

Yeah you're right but it was always going to be difficult away at Tynecastle. The game I went to when Wimmer was the manager they beat us 3-1. So there's improvement there
-
I think Cooke should be a good buy for us. Good to see Johnny K back playing. Longelo scoring again, excellent. International break should give Slattery some extra time to recover. Thought AP struggled today. Surprised he didn’t come off instead of TJ. Everyone else seemed to perform decent without being outstanding. Goalie didnt have much to do but cost us dearly with an absolute howler. JBA got two weeks to consider trying Ox. …….. but only two days to get a good centre back!!!
-
On paper no, but as I said last week, context is everything with draws. And if you are 3-0 up with twenty minutes to go one week and 2-1 up with less than ten to go the following week and you don’t win either game then that can’t be viewed as anything other than two big missed chances to get three points on the board.

So purism versus pragmatism ended all even. And who can say but maybe there was some karmic element to Ward's bout of dropsy but who am I to speculate on the musings of the universe.... Actually a good game. Enjoyed it. Think we have one of better groups we've had for a while. Longelo, Watt, Fadinger, Just, Maswanhise are all better than average and we have Cook-Charles and Hendry to come in and possibly be assets. Of course there are other areas we're not so good and a keeper and a penalty box striker are required. Some slick play although lacking a bit in terms of actual real chances. Don't think the Killie keeper had too many real saves to make but good to watch nonetheless. I'd actually like to highlight Elijah Just, though he had a great match. The whole points v performance thing. Well obviously we need to start winning at some point but as I always say you can only start judging a manager until we've played a full round of matches. I'm enjoying watching it but whether it's actually effective is still open to question but you have to give the experiment time.
