  1. Past hour
  2. Nae bother. Step away from the keyboard. He was the source of your info last year so figured may be same.
  3. Genuine question, are you meant to wade in if flares are let off? Because this could be near enough every week...if ever there was a day to not light one, it was yesterday .
  4. Thanks, at least you've walked the walk.
  5. Latest scoop from the doorman at Club100 again?
  6. Thats what I heard from a usually reliable scource although I think his SM posts said he was looking for pastures anew or a fresh challenge (something like that) so maybe there was something else going on behind the scenes, who knows.
  7. Today
  8. I could have shown the boy anything. He just wanted to make it look like he was checking something on my phone.
  9. Re McGhee, just heard that his Grandad passed away yesterday so that's probably why he was not in the squad.
  10. I still had a view of those Well Bois and their ball til one steward got it to f*k 🀣 That was all good natured of course , a laugh in the sun you could say. It did get me thinking why pay money to not watch the game On another note , I walked in yesterday without one person checking my ticket 🀣🀣🀣
  11. Someone called him a football player!??
  12. I never noticed any specifics that were posted, I was also more interested in the over the top abuse SOD got. As I was trying to think what was said that could be so horrific.
  13. I agree with you mostly. But - when you take a job on as a steward you are expected to deal with certain issues - particularly if you are badged. If a fight breaks out you are expected to deal with it. That's made clear to you during training and when you take the job. Stewards aren't on min wage any more with most companies. I was when I worked with securigroup but thankfully wages are better now I saw someone being chucked out last season at Fir Park for abusing a Motherwell player and then wanting to fight other fans. I completely get it - part of the reason I gave it up was because I was too near to getting my face smashed in - never at Fir Park - at Celtic Park and the Ethiad. There are security supervisors who get paid more to deal with this stuff. I would personally say police need to step in in these kind of situations.
  14. All very valid points of course , and don't disagree I certainly would not want to be a steward getting paid peanuts confronting these people The flip side of the coin though is if it allowed to happen we will see more and more incidents, as people will think it is completely acceptable behaviour
  15. A bucket of sand is the recommended approach, not a face.
  16. Who would make the decision as to what is over the top. A minimum wage steward employed by the club we are visiting ,a policeman, a fellow fan ? Who is going to go into the crowd and do the chucking out ? Are the ejected fans pals who don’t agree with the decision to chuck him out going to stand by quietly and let it happen. Finally with the reintroduction of beer and vodka into grounds imminent i think those in charge of security will have more to worry about than this. Lets face it as being totally unrealistic, unworkable and a daft idea.
  17. To be fair I don't get laughing emojis often so any one received is a bonus 🀣🀣
  18. 1-1 Who knows how the penalty shootout will go this time.
  19. Absolutely agree πŸ’― With regards to the steward getting punched in the face this should not be tolerated whatsoever when someone is trying to do a job
  20. Let's hope they are doing the same thing next May with a beach ball, means we're off on a European tour.
  21. You can read so you see the posts I've made re physical and verbal abuse of stewards , so uou don't need to ask the question.
  22. I’m on the fence regarding the goalie style of play obvious drawback we are all aware of but it does allow us to get more players ahead of the ball. I thought the first half we maintained possession well and there were was hardly a hoof ball played the whole first half. There were some longer passes but they were decent balls where our player was always the favorite to win the ball. Midfielders were showing for the ball making it easier for us to make passes and keep possession. However, second half was very different story. For our level of players I think it’s very hard for them to maintain that for a full 90 mins. Having that focus and mentality goes downhill fast as you start to tire. So between fitness and heat yesterday we just couldn’t maintain the first half control. Sure, we made subs but that didn’t seem to work in maintaining then level of focus and fitness required. While disappointed yesterday I’m confident we will improve and that the manager will be a bit more analytical in his assessment and able to prioritize what needs fixing first. With some new players likely to come in there still cause for optimism. Yours faithfully, Happy Clapper πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  23. It's the managers that are telling them to do it. One of the current trends in modern football, along with passing out from the back, inverted full backs, and wingbacks instead of wingers. You might not like it, and will be more likely to notice it when mistakes happen, but I guarantee all the modern coaches have Gigabytes of match data showing that less goals are conceded that way, and more attacks are created that way. A few years ago, I saw the guy in charge of data at Liverpool discuss his analysis. He had taken all the available stats from all the available matches to create a map of the pitch. They had calculated the percentage chance of a goal being scored from the starting position of the man with the ball on every square foot of the pitch. They used that during training to focus on getting the ball to highest percentage starting positions as quickly as possible. That's the kind of analysis that goes into the game these days, even at smaller clubs like ours. And the kind of thing JBA means when he says that Danish teams play more modern football than Scottish teams. We can't ask for a more progressive approach to the game and then complain about what that means. Well, we can, but it will hold us back. Today's tactics are significantly different from when I started watching football in the 70's, which is mostly a good thing - although preferring full backs that can attack rather than defend still drives me nuts. Back to this game, I expect more of our new signings to start, and a higher tempo game on our grass.
