No. We can but hope
-
Following the match online, I found myself in a bit of a dilemma. I would be beyond myself on every level measurable if we were to win the league but am realistic enough to realize that this is highly improbable., I lived in Edinburgh for most of my life so have a well merited dislike of Hearts. I have no real liking for St Mirren either when it comes down to it. I really detest the Old Firm. As such, I am prepared to accept the possibility of Hearts winning the league as being better than either of the bigot brothers doing so, especially as I now live on the other side of the world from Edinburgh. As such, Hearts losing is, from my original perspective, a poor result. This quandary has caused me to pause and consider ultimately what would be a good result for us tomorrow. I originally felt that a win would be fantastic and a draw, away from home against an improving Dundee side, would be acceptable in the circumstances. However, having taken the opportunity to delve deeply into my soul, I have come to the only logical and reasonable conclusion that only a win for us will do. It is not for any personal hope that I may revel in the glory of my team's success, or any misguided idea that their victory will make me, in any way, a better person. I am saying this because I honestly think that this Motherwell side winning the league will be a universally good thing. I believe that us winning the league will be a win for the good guys. The little guys who play by the rules and play the game the way it should be played. As such, I can claim with all honesty, sincerity and altruistically that a win for Motherwell is a win for football, a win for Scotland, and, in these dark and troubled days, a win for the whole of mankind. Too much?

St Mirren were good value for their win, plenty of chances, Hearts made a few but by the highlights Hearts would have been fortunate to get a point
-
That's them officially bottled it now.
-
SODs and Johnny K are both comfortable at left back. Wouldn't be my first choice, but not something I'd be too worried about if they are played there.
- Today
-
I see they lost 1-0, not what champions do?
-
Not ideal but Halliday can cover as left back when he’s fit. He played left back under Gerrard at Rangers …. For most of that season I think? and he also was left back when he played down south at Middlesbrough and Bradford. ok his legs are a bit gone but he knows the system and he is a good passer of the ball. He could do a Stevie Hammell job in an emergency
-
Aye ok then, Robinson is not one of the few
-
If he was JBA would have him strolling round the park like Maldini
-
I take it Tony Straker wasn't available? 🤣🤣🤣
-
100% we do have a chance here…. We are a good side. 3 points tomorrow and then the game against the knuckle draggers will be huge.
-
Need to win tomorrow night now. Do that and win next Wednesday and we can start to dream.....
-
Absolutely. McGhee and McGinn can also play on the right but not on the left. LB is a weak area.
-
Suddenly tomorrow just gets even more important, could be 8pts off lead if we can take care of Dundee
-
Maybe the change in the board has changed attitudes. With more football based decisions from people on the board who maybe actually, know a bit about football no just running a business. Starting with signing Wimmer, then handling him leaving really well, then signing JBA after doing the ground work to identify him and getting him on board. Then buying into his style of football ,supporting him by bringing I'm players he obviously identified. Resisting wasting good money on panic buys to fill in squad places. Quality rather than quantity. I think there has been a total change of attitude at the top of the club and it is obvious to see. Which they all deserve credit for. This team is a joy to watch as it is.

The face he pulls when he talks about the attention JT received from around the world, and "also from the UK' tells you all you need to know about what the thinks of the UK attention. (Starts around the 3 minute mark)
-
Followed by an hour of "that's what champions do" on Sportsound.

claretband started following Dundee v Motherwell 4/02/2026

Hearts once again looking awful and down to 10 men. So no doubt will win 1-0 in the 96th minute 😂
-
I don't disagree. While I know logically we might to lose a game at some point from a poor performance, dodgy decision or bad luck, every game right now feels winnable. The last time it felt like this was when we ran away with the First Division under Davie Hay. We lost the first game at Rugby Park then went on something like a 20 league game unbeaten streak (and only lost 4 all season).
-
There were a lot of players who looked brutal under Kettlewell. A few of them are doing very well under Jens......
-
Totally agree Weeyin but something feels right this season; we’ll know more in the next three games. Three wins and we’re possibly ahead of Rangers and in the next round of the cup. Do we dream then??
-
I think folk are getting the wrong end of the stick here. I said I was slightly underwhelmed with the window purely because I expected 1 or 2 new bodies in based on what Jens had said in his pressers. Im not disappointed. Far from it. Id much rather we were where we are now than the trolley dash we have become accustomed to over previous seasons. But that doesnt mean you cant be analytic about it and point out where we could have done better. Left back cover is an obvious weakness. I know Koutroumbis and SOD can both play there, but both are currently injury doubts for tomorrow meaning we dont currently have cover for Sparrow or Longelo. Filling that space would have made sense to me.

It's nice to control your own fate, although winning every game is a pretty big ask. Bring it on.
-
I didn't say was accurate, I just said I read it on the internet!

I’d happily take a draw for this tonight, and for hertz to draw their next two; that would leave it in our hands (we’d need to win every game til the end of the season mind)
