  1. Past hour
  2. As long is his name isn't Seb Knee-Injury.......
  3. Unless our next rumour is Erling Braut Haaland im not getting excited.
  4. Today
  5. I don't think we're going to sell every player we bring in after they've only been here a year.
  6. Every player has his price new contract or not sadly and i dont think the selling has finished i expect Longelo and Maswanhise to leave and wouldnt be shocked if we get bids for Said and Fadinger maybe even Priestman. But like someone said last week they dont follow Motherwell to watch its bank balance we need to be very careful between now and end of the window as we all witnessed what happened on Sunday when players were called apon. Glad we got a front player in who seems is a natural player for the middle three.
  7. Faddy signed new contract so would need to be something massive if he were to go. Longelo is a concern but beat freiburg (which i know will be tough) and he will definitely stay.
  8. Going by gills supporters a lot sad to see him go,thought of as plenty of potential but didnt get game time he deserved, mobile with great work ethic, great attitude but not a lump it at him striker.heres hoping better coaching and passing football can bring the best out of him.
  9. Most importantly, we need to try and hang on to Fadinger & Longelo this window. They are integral to what we do and would leave holes that are too big to fill this late in the window. They can be next seasons big money sales!
  10. Another signing that very much fits our current model/process. Young, former academy graduate, struggling to find a home he feels comfortable in. Paid an undisclosed fee. I presume the signing is data driven again, so should fit all the metrics we require. Be interesting to see if this means Stama will be heading out the door or if we will try to use him to supplement what we have. If he goes, Id personally like to get another one in as Hendry looks crocked and Eythor is still a bit unknown. Looking forward to seeing what the young man can do!
  11. 6'2 pressing machine apparently
  12. Is our new signing policy to sign guys with double barrelled surnames! 🤪🤪 Rumour is Gannon-Doak on loan next followed by Myles Lewis-Skelly from Arsenal 🤣🤣 At least its a striker so fingers crossed
  13. Yup, trying to work out who it is....ohhhhh the tension. Doesn't look like Bobby Wales though

  15. Looks like him. Definitely not Bobby Wales.
  16. I suspect a few, including Mikey Booth, will go out on loan and that will increase leeway for a couple of signings. BBC and Rancid reporting that we're hoping to secure a loan deal for Bobby Wales, but that Dundee is likely to beat us off. New signing teaser on X.
  17. I doubt we'll do much business before the window closes unless their is more outgoings (Maswanhsie, Longelo, Fadinger all been linked with moves in last few weeks) If you go position by position we're probably at the maximum we can afford. GK - Paulsen, Connolly RB - Sparrow, Koutrombis, SOD CB - Moormann, Girdwood-Reich, Knight-Lebel, McGinn, McGhee LB - Longelo, Williams, Wilson CM - Fadinger, Preistman, Hodge, Whyte, Booth AM - Said, Lowry RW - Vogt, Ross LW - Charles-Cook ST - Maswanhise, Bjorgolfsson, Hendry, Stamatelopolous I think in an ideal world we'd bring in another 3 but how financially viable that is who knows. The positions would be: - ST - LW - RW/AM depending on what position you think Said will be more effective in - Potentially another CM but I feel Whyte is probably fine as a squad option in midfield. Booth needs a loan. Ross and Wilson as squad options are fine they just can't be starting or playing significant minutes as the cup game showed.

  19. If we can consistently increase the quality on the bench and challenging for the bench that will strengthen our squad depth. So over all we end up with a stronger squad of, say, 25. It will also challenge the players who are first choice. Even allowing for injuries, Sunday demonstrated that there is room for improvement. Using your numbers ranking, if a player proves incapable of increasing from 22 then surely we identify a replacement that is capable in time of that rise. And if a player is content to remain at number 22 is that really the mindset we should accept? I don't expect every one of the 25 to immediately be the same quality of those starting. But that should be their objective. We need to see progress. Those players at the 'lower level' must improve over time to keep their place in the production line. If we can fill that production line from within then all the better. In the same way that turnover is seen in the starting eleven, it should be seen in those who are waiting in the wings. It is tough on those that fall by the wayside. I get that. But better they play at a level which matches their ability and/or ambition than finding themselves out of their depth and suffering mentally as well as physically.
  20. Install nordVPN there are no more geo restrictions. Even works with MFCTV
  21. Not sure about that. As it stands, and that may change in the next few weeks, we have 2 left backs in Longelo and Williams. Do we need a dedicated 3rd one? If both are injured then SOD and JK can also play there.
  22. If the argument is that every member of the squad should be capable of genuinely challenging for a starting place, then I'd agree that's the ideal. I'm just not sure it's realistic for Motherwell. We're not Celtic or Rangers with the budget to have two established Premiership-quality players competing for virtually every position. There will always be levels within our squad. You'll have established first-team starters, players who are genuinely competing with them, experienced cover, younger/developing players and a few who are essentially there to provide depth when injuries, suspensions and fixture congestion hit. The question with someone like Wilson or Ross isn't "would I want him starting every week?" It's "is there value in having him as the 18th, 20th or 22nd member of a Motherwell squad?" Those are very different questions. But important questions. Because if we send Wilson packing, we'll need to find someone happy to be the 18th, 20th, or 22nd member of a Motherwell squad. And most likely it'll be someone on the same level as Wilson.
  23. 100% agree Denny. We do need competition for starting places, but I do understand that can lead to some unhappy players, if they're being left out. Its a fine balancing act. Put simply, many of our fringe players are not good enough. Some are Championship standard, whilst others are League One or two standard. I would put RCC in that category. I agree about Ross and Wilson. Ross started out well about 4 years ago but never really progressed and when I've seen him of late looks to be out of his depth. He's now 20 and although previous managers must have seen something in him he just hasn't cut it. Its sad but a harsh part of footballing life. Ewan Wilson? doesn't seem to fit in with our style of play. Again after an impressive start, he's never kicked on and didn't impress whilst on loan at Starks Park. Both these lads will probably end up in League one or two. Booth and McAllister are different and may well benefit from a spell out on loan. From the little I've seen of McAllister before this season I was impressed but then again he was playing alongside seasoned pros. Whyte is a bit different and he looks as though he could slot into the first team this season if he's partnered with seasoned pros.
  24. I’m in Portugal for these two games so hoping there’s no geographical restrictions on solidsport stream 😳 Amy recommendations for food and drink places in Lisbon?
  25. I just said it remains to be seen. No catastrophising just saying we're not as dynamic and thosew thinking we are are maybe jumping the gun a little.
