from his New clubs website ……..with dodgy translation…. The SSV Jahn Regensburg has filled the post of head coach with Michael Wimmer. The 44-year-old football teacher takes over the head coach for the new season 2025/26 and has signed a contract in the cathedral city until 30.06.2027. Most recently, Wimmer, who came from Dingolfing in Lower Bavaria, worked for the Scottish first division team Motherwell FC. The new head coach of the SSV Jahn has been determined and is called Michael Wimmer. Together, the heads of the SSV Jahn and the native of Dingolfinger have agreed on a cooperation for the next two years. Sports Managing Director Achim Beierlorzer says: "Michael Wimmer has left a very good impression on us and quickly showed that with his ideas, ideas as well as his energy and personality he fits our expectations and our requirements for the new Jahn head coach. His teams want to act courageously and with high intensity and show purposeful football. His approach focusses on people and the team, which is why he also stands for the further development of young players. As a native of Lower Bavaria, he knows SSV Jahn well and identifies with the values and the game idea. He can and will be able to give our club a lot. I would also like to thank those responsible for Motherwell FC for the constructive approach that makes it possible for Michael Wimmer to take over the coaching office in Regensburg.

At least it sounds like the club wouldn't have been totally surprised by it with chat "of support offered during time at the club". The club should have sensed this was a possibility and been preparing for it. Better now than when he assembled a squad...

That's how I feel, another summer window we should be building the team we are scratching around looking for a manager.
-
Is Luc Nijolt still just a phone call away ??
-
I think this might be van de Gaag’s time
-
Care to expand on that?

They do say the day you appoint a new manager is the day you start looking for the next one… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't think there is anything dodgy. Wimmer has released statement. I get feeling maybe a family member has health issues so totally understandable he would return home. Has left us with dignity unlike that last clown. Ps. Yip...still raging 🤪🤪
-
Sorry, I`m not buying the family thing. Apparently this only surfaced when he went home to Germany after the County game....and low and behold he has a new job already.
-
He's saw the players, saw the budget, saw what the budget gets him, saw Scottish football first hand then said iv made a mistake get me a job at home. Family health reasons etc etc, politicians and football managers use this excuse all the time. Smoke n mirrors he just didn't fancy being our manager.

Massively deflating to be -in all likelyhood- being subject to utter mundane pish again. Part of me was thinking the last while that he realised what he had inherited and though 'fuck this - uncoachable'

Ah'll dae the jokes

Aye the standard list of failed managers will be getting rolled out as we speak, Naismith, Docherty, Valakari, Kettlewell, Lennon, McGlynn, Ketsbaia, probably Ferguson will be on there as well. The optics for the club are not good but it was fun while it lasted, and I hope his family problems are resolved, all the best Michael.
-
Utterly fucking fuming at this.
-
The biggest thing that worries me is that it takes us about 30 working days just to decide what colour to paint the walls, by the time we appoint a manger the transfer window could be well into its last days.
-
I liked the guy but he's obviously been working his ticket behind the scenes if he's got another job....need to get someone in quickly ....has release list been announced? Don't want the poorer players hanging around cos there's no boss. Pre season friedlues need organising. some of the ones who've been offered new Deals are bad enough.
-
In what way? We don't know all the circumstances. Maybe a family member health not great.
-
Some European dark horse,we haven't heard of, who likes playing the high press, has coached up n comming German stars and has a tough second in command. Eh! Hod on a minute. 🤔

Clubs made a quick profit and stayed in the league can't really complain. The real issue with him going is we have quite a big squad left behind and all the players get a clean slate under a new manager.
-
Return of the Kett 😫
-
Kinda embarrassing for everyone involved.
-
It's probably the drawback in terms of appointing a foreign manager that issues back home can force there hand,if there is family issues for wimmer then I cant blame him for moving on.it doesn't leave us in an ideal place in terms of recruiting new players but it's better it happened now then even a couple of weeks down the line.
-
Wimmer’s appointment always had a strange feel about it and never felt like it would last long. What we need next is some stability.
-
Being a ‘Well fan is absolutely hilarious fun these days. What next?!

I would like it to be Scott Brown. I would not like it to be Simo Valakari.
