I cant underdstand all this faux outrage at Slattery last night, if the match officials / Var team had been in any way competent the Red card would have been overturned and Slattery booked for simulation, diving, cheating etc but as the officials are all useless fuds he wasnt, so why blame the player, if it had happend at 0-0 to say win us a penalty and the game would we care, no chance we would. The officials had two major decisions to make last night and they made a James Hunt of both of them, Gogic was a red all day long and Kingstons wasnt even a yellow never mind a red.

On a different note, out of curiosity, I checked Man City's stats yesterday (as they are obviously a team that likes to play possession football). They made 466 passes in their home win, with 84.1% accuracy and 31 touches inside the opposition box. We made 703 passes with 92.3% accuracy and 51 touches inside the oppostion box. Obviously not like for like, but an interesting comparison all the same.

I think it was a bad brush on his eyelash….. as a contact lens wearer I’m forever having problems with them and I’ve lost count of the times I’ve fell and rolled around on the ground in Merry Street after a little gust of wind hits my eyes. It's not about whether there was an attempted hand hit or not, Slattery's were embarrassing, unnecessary and took some attention away from an excellent footballing performance. There was no excuse for it, and JBA obviously felt the same.
