  1. Today
  2. It was a bad reaction, but the guy went head to head with him and made (soft) contact, which is very risky with our refs constantly looking for ways to make the game about them.
  3. And Iredale. He was next for a red card until he was subbed on 38 minutes.
  4. He loved beating St Mirren so much today he even smiled in his post match interview. While he played it down pre-match, you could tell he's been plotting a way to beat them since the semi.
  5. Must have been in training as certainly couldn't have been in match play. Hope not serious
  6. Also rumours on P&B that we have another striker in the bag.
  7. Rumours on P & B that Callum Hendry has picked up a serious injury; hence his absence from today's squad. Add to that Stama being on the bench and Sule's return to WBA, and you do get the feeling that moves are afoot to bring in another striker.
  8. Hope not controversial after a great win but Watt's reaction to st mirren player confronting him is embarrassing. If other way round we would be slating opposition player. Elliot you are better than that
  9. Fantastic team performance today, everyone did their part. Special mention for SOD who made some magnificent foraging runs forward to break their lines on top of his overall game which was excellent. But its Just again. He absolutely terrorised St Mirren with his press. Perpetual motion. His fitness levels are ridiculous and his close control and passing is a joy to watch. If only he could shoot! We would have a player on our hands! (Not for long obviously, but the cheque would be a nice one).
  10. Id also put Welsh in that conversation.....
  11. Why doesnt he have a song yet? Thats whats needed to convince him he should call fir park home!
  12. There is no doubt Jens is enjoying himself. He clearly loves how well its going and how quickly the players AND all of us have bought into his project. I suspect you are correct though and he will be ambitious and analysing how to build his stock to maximum effect so that there will be a decent move in it for him. But what does that look like? What clubs are looking at what an unproven manager is doing at a provincial club in the Scottish Leagues? What does success look like to make him an attractive candidate and what level does he aspire to for his next job? Probably a topic for another thread, but I was quite encouraged by his interview tonight as he is a man that chooses his words carefully. So maybe he does want to build something lasting here before he moves on?
  13. Confidence is high with the players and amongst the support. Cant see Jens letting us drop our standards and dial one in. But its still a tough place to go and Hibs are ticking over just fine and right on our tails. Be nice to collect another 3 points, widen the gap and stay on the tails of the ugly sisters, but a point would still be a very acceptable result.
  14. Aye but this time it will be funnier, cause they know its gonna happen! Best leave him out for his own Health & Wellbeing! 😆😆😆
  15. This is something I find interesting with JBA. To what extent is he enjoying it here? He tends to play with a poker straight face. There is absolutely no doubt that Scottish Football is driven excessively by emotion. I listened to the OF game today on the radio and there was actually very little commentary on the actual game. It was all about the drama around the Celtic predicament and Nancy in particular. Every adjective is pulled out to describe the emotions of the fans, the players, the horrors of Nancy's predicament. Read Tom English's article this evening on the BBC . It is pure sensationalism. I think 'haunted' is used in the headline to describe Nancy's demeanour. It is straight out of Hollywood. JBA has made a point of cutting through all that noise. At times he has made some of the inane questioning of the press sound ridiculous because he refuses to get drawn in to the emotion, instead concentrating on the very effective job in hand . I do wonder if behind that very pragmatic exterior if the club and maybe even the warts and all of Scottish football itself is actually starting to grow on him. I suspect unfortunately that JBA will look at his own career in much the same way as he forensically builds a competitive Motherwell side but it would be nice to dream that he has grown enough attachment to the club that it will at least raise the bar for any potential suitors offering riches to entice him away.
  16. Really enjoyed that today. Mostly because we won in spite if everything that was going on. The diving, the grabbing, the holding, the time wasting, the referee doing absolutely nothing about it and then having a go at our players when they started to take matters into their own hands. Not crying about it, as I actually quite enjoyed it when Robbo was employing it with us, but it is still nice to see that "passing without a purpose" can comfortably beat Thunderdome! We still played our football, but we refused to be bullied. This team has fight and spirit in abundance as well as ability. Great to see JT back. He is the striker we are looking for! Although Im still up for a big dirty Norwegian if he is already in the post. 2 really good goals, bucket loads of entertainment from Just, Slattery and Mr Chaos! SOD rampaging thru midfield to join in. It was a joy to watch. We really are witnessing something very special.
  17. Yesterday
  18. Aye, but its Tony Watt! 😍😍😍
  19. Oh absolutely. With hindsight and a new Sports Scientist who actually monitors load management, its maybe no surprise that our injury problems seem to have diminished. At the time of issuing the new contracts though, it still seemed a risk....
  20. It just gets better each week. Whats going to happen if we ever did somehow get two or three windows out this gaffer? Being mid 40s these days iv seen alot, early 90s when we mounted a genuine challenge, McGhee v1 team a joy to watch the attacking front 3, McCalls team of stars but nothing compares to what this team can do in terms of controlling games, keeping possession, turnovers & pacey counters, never mind the clean sheets. You get the feeling that this is still a work in progress & there is more to come. Long may it continue! For any young well fan - just enjoy it. We are seeing something genuinly different and hopefully (touch wood) a bit special!
  21. It's so boring and unimaginative that they don't see players outside spl but 5 mil plus wil start bid for any of our stars. We got best midfield in spl. I trust Jens to buy well too.
  22. Our players will be interesting many clubs , its the nature of the game but the Daily Ranger and The Sun need to build it up into something it isn't to appeal to their base customers..
  23. That's a noisy rumour to have got to Oz
  24. On a totally unrelated matter. Has anyone else noticed the improvements in the Fir park floodlights. Night games shown on TV used to have dark spots all over the pitch but now its really bright and clear. They must have upgraded them.
  25. Sevco can have Watt for 5 million if they want him...
  26. JBA is going to target Hanley again, isn't he
  27. I liked what the Gaffer said in his interview with the BBC, talking about not worrying about a title charge, building and looking to improve next year. I have a feeling it would take a massive offer for him to move, he is enjoying it here
