Thought SODs had a very good first half. Just and Fadinger had good games when they came on. Went for Oscar for his overall performance, although he did spoil it a little with a couple of slack balls at the end. Special mention for Said noising the shit out if Big Iacovitti! He is some boy!

Thought that was a pretty comfortable performance today. Totally controlled the game. Created some good chances and apart from the double save in the first half (which was offside anyway) and the one at the end, we limited them to pretty much nothing. Given the squad rotation we should ve absolutely delighted with that. Of course we looked better after Just, Fadinger and Longelo came on, but I think it would churlish not to appreciate just how far we have come in such a short space of time. This time last year Kettlewell was still our manager and we were getting pumped 3-0 off the very same Ross County. Right now we havent lost a goal at Fir Park since October and we have only lost 3 in total since the Cup Semi Final. Enjoy. Stiffer tests are around the corner.

I might speculate that their winning of the FA Cup in 1911 created quite a splash and their unusual colours (unique, even, in England) might have attracted Motherwell, whose original blue shirt meant quite a lot of changes in a season because it was such a common jersey in Scotland. I have nothing conclusive to back this up, however.

Don't worry, I don't keep a notebook of people who make comments I disagree with! I have no idea who posted about Slattery - just that there were many dissenters. It always surprised me, as he always looked like a footballer to me, and any time I saw his starts for tackles, passes and assists he was usually near the top. He was also the most fouled player in the Premiership at one time, which suggests the opposition rated him too. I totally get that everyone has their favourites and preferred style of player etc. but I have to admit that sometimes I'm left scratching my head.
-
Weeyin might also be referring to me. Some players have improved under Askou and I'd say Slattery is a decent option but I don't even think he's a nailed on first choice now. Fadinger, Watt and Just all go straight in the team before Slattery. I mean I'm not on to bring the guy down, he's been better recently, but he's our 4th/5th choice midfielder depending on how you feel about Priestman.

It now raises the interesting (to me at least) question - if we did copy Bradford City, why choose them?
-
Ap stam not working in our system. Move him on. Also send. Back loan playe from Forrest. Ross can go on loan to lower league team. Shows today that our reserves lacking.

Thanks: I had originally contacted an individual at the jockey club with my enquiry but I got no reply so decided to use their own database, which I subsequently discovered after a few clicks. It's actually very interesting to an old weirdo like me. If Accies' colours are derived from LHoD's racing colours it would explain why (as the only professional British side to evolve from a school team, allegedly) they did not use the academy's blue and green colours (though this has been a change strip on occasion for HA, I believe). Anyone interested in comparing MFC's strips with Bradford City's over the years should consult Historical Football Kits, a fascinating website which I think our own underboyleheating (much missed) contributed valuably to over the years. Ironically, both my father and grandfather were Accies' fans (and the latter was chairman of HAFC for many years). My dear old dad used to say their colours were officially cerise and French grey but i think he was pulling my leg 😂.

I think Mcglynn has been excellent, and I'm guessing his age and scottishness is what's keeping him under the radar. You can also argue that he has had the benefit of building his team up through the lower leagues, but that's an achievement in itself.

I’ve said the same, I think Hearts will fall away. To be fair they’ve did really well but I see a Derek McIness team playing in the same way he had his Aberdeen and Kilmarnock sides playing albeit with some better players. There is no way they will win the league. You ca bookmark my comment. Falkirk are a good side with a manager who has worked miracles. He’s not a dinosaur either, he has his team of average players playing quite exciting attacking football. I’ve been really impressed with them this year.
-
No standout but Priestman impressed. I opted for Liam Gordon though. Kept an awkward Jordan White quiet.
-
I would love if if Bannan came to us, and he would be an excellent addition, especially with how we play, but he can make multiples of what we can offer at one of those boring lower league English clubs.
-
I have felt all season that Hearts are in a false position and that the wheels would come off at some point. It will be interesting to see how they react to this defeat Having said that, for all the rightful praise JBA had been getting at Motherwell, what about McGlynn at Falkirk. They are having a remarkable season.
-
I'd of rathered Hearts got through tbh and got 1 of the OF at home as I reckon they'd of put them out. Your main hopes for 1 of them 2 going out now are draws for them away at Falkirk and St Mirren.
-
Character building JBA style.
-
Well done. A sound piece of research that seems as definitive as anything I've come across.
-
Hearts out! Tell you what the top six finish in the league is going to be wild.
-
Hearts out, Hibs out. Things are looking up

Busy day for SOD, on sportscene tonight with craggs and legend Dougie Donnelly
-
If the plan was to run him into the ground until he spewed his ring a few times, then mission accomplished.
-
We managed to coach some shooting into Gboly Ariyibi, so I live in hope.
-
Just is so talented as he manages to shoot on target with a speed of 5mph! 🤣🤣, love the guy and workrate phenomenal but shooting terrible but I can live with that
-
Every time I watch Just, I think the same. You'd think that shooting is something that could be coached into someone, but he wouldn't be with us long if he added 12 goals a season to his game.
-
I could only think that he expected County to park the bus and let him be more attacking. But maybe he has other plans for him.

I thought that as well, was expecting VAR to overturn
