  1. Past hour
  2. Imagine winning a final against either of them though? I can’t think of anything better.
  3. What always pisses me off is whenever we get to a final it's the OF waiting on us (1991 excluding) Since we last won in 1991. There have been winners who didn't face the OF. Winners: Scottish Cup: Hearts faced Grena , St Johnstone faced Hibs, ICT faced Falkirk, Dundee Utd faced Ross County, Kilmarnock faced Falkirk. League Cup: Livingston faced Hibs, Hibs faced Kilmarnock , St Mirren faced Hearts, Aberdeen faced ICT. If we get to the final it will be my 6th and we will have faced the OF in 5 of them.
  4. Hearts have previous for choking on a title challenge, one of the ugly sisters will win the league as usual. No reason why we cant take both cups though 😀
  5. I’d take that. I’d even let them have a League and Scottish Cup double if you could guarantee us winning the League Cup and getting our hands on silverware for the first time in almost 35 years.
  6. I've never studied this report before but this is what they said re the Said "goal"
  7. Hearts can get the league and we’ll take the two cups. Sounds like a deal to me amd we can take the league next season 😀
  8. They style we are playing is more about keeping possession and finding the right shot, rather than shooting on sight, so I'd expect it to be a little lower. As much as I hate some of the new stats, xG might be more interesting.
  9. Today
  10. I think that was superseded by the red card for the "obvious goal scoring opportunity" and its various criteria. I can't remember the exact wording for the (relatively new) yellow card "tactical" foul, but it's something to do with stopping an attack rather than a goal. EDIT: found the IFAB Law 12 wording about the yellow card commits any other offence which interferes with or stops a promising attack
  11. The club is saying there will be more Well fans at this semi "than there was 12 months ago for our last semi-final" - but, of course, no figures yet.
  12. Oh I didn't notice that, well maybe we will get nearer the 9000 mark🤞
  13. Unless I've missed something and apologies if I have that was back on the 16th that the club confirmed over 7000 sold,if that's correct I'm sure we have sold a good few more since then.
  14. Club confirmed over 7000 tickets sold. Maybe I'm alone in thinking that's disappointing for a very winable game. I was seriously expecting nearer 9000
  15. Looking at seating plan and all sections just about sold apart from the far F section behind the goals. Very encouraging and looks like about 8000 tickets so hopefully can create a great atmosphere and get right behind the players and manager. COYW
  16. 100% yes. Celtic win trophies, that’s what they do, that’s what you expect. And if any non Old Firm club is going to break that cycle on occasion and win a domestic Cup then I want to be us. Not Killie, not St.Johnstone and certainly not St.Mirren who would be there after knocking us out in a Semi Final. Apart from the fact that I can’t stand them and their odious boneheaded fans I don’t want to see them lifting silverware if we can’t do it. That said I wouldn’t begrudge Hearts winning the league this season but that doesn’t concern us really because we’re not in contention for that.
  17. But what about the shoots on goal...
  18. I think it was tackle from behind. Not sure why or when it was stopped. When you watch some of those old 70’s games you can see why they had to try something to tame it down a bit.
  19. Firstly, thanks for your prediction. I feel much more relaxed about the game now! Secondly, are you sure? Even if its those beastly Celtic fans that will be celebrating a victory? Surely you would rather St Mirren fans were cheering than the worst fans in Scotland.
  20. Am I mis-remembering, or was the "professional foul" not punishable by a red card back in the day (70's). And if so, why did it change? I have vague recollections of Motherwell players being hauled down on the half way line and red cards being shown. Could have been a pre cursor to the last man / clear goalscoring opportunity rule, but I kinda feel that it was a thing.......
  21. Well we've 14 goals off 32 shots on target which is pretty decent but there are a few penalties in there. EDIT - Also don't forget all the shots that weren't on target! 🤣
  22. I guess our conversion rate is better than we thought then?
  23. Just cos I was curious. Shots on target (average, league matches only) 1. Hibernian - 6.0 2. Hearts - 5.8 3. Dundee Utd - 5.6 4. Celtic - 5.2 5. Rangers - 4.8 6. Falkirk - 4.5 7. Kilmarnock 3.7 8. Aberdeen 3.6 9. Livingston 3.6 10. Motherwell 3.55 11. St Mirren - 3.0 12. Dundee - 2.4
  24. This is the major reason I'm against VAR. The whole point of football is the joy of scoring a goal. That's what everything else builds up to. That has totally been taken away now. As for decision making I don't think much has actually changed. Mistakes get made with or without VAR. We all lived without it for pretty much our whole lives and somehow we still managed to love the game. It's entirely geared towards televised football.
  25. Yeah I don’t have them either. I’ll wait a few days and then hopefully they will be there. My issue is I haven t had any receipt from Motherwell for the tickets I bought but they have confirmed over a call I have paid for them and I have my seat numbers.
  26. I'm not seeing any tickets on my Hampden app, weren't they supposed to show 7 days before the match? Anyone else seeing theirs? EDIT: I can see on MFC site it now says "the week of the game". Thought it said 7 days before previously.
