Perfect result for us !

Luckily Rangers are incapable of holding onto a 2 goal lead at home. Another 2 points dropped by both.

As many as that? Wow

I read a remarkable stat which I still find hard to believe. Dundee Utd have only won twice at Fir Park in 11 years. Can't be right?? -

Everyone asking why Maswanhise is holding his bawz, what the clarity of the pictures don't show is where the defenders hand ended up once the elbow was put into Maswanhise ribs its quite possible his hand did catch his nuts. It was a penalty United are just in full deflection mode. - Today
-
We should send him on loan to one of the lesser clubs in the Premier league, such as St Mirren to see if he can cut it in our league
-
Celtic are all over the place. Desperate in everything they do. Desperate last ditch defending and desperate balls forward. Rangers are playing 'up and at em' St Mirren Styleee.
-
Stephen Welsh definitely too good for that Celtic defence.
-
The thunder clap has been great but always such a long build up. I think the 'stand up and sing for Motherwell ' is brilliant. Seeing all 3 stands do it really is something.
-
Yes, that was quite an atmosphere which I haven't experienced in the POD for many years.
-
The POD joining in with "Stand up & Sing For Motherwell", songs being started in the Cooper and North end of the Hunter, were just a few of my favourite things about yesterday. Said absolutely "bodying" their giant centre half, when he tried to bully him was another. Glad Watt had a quick word in his ear afterwards, but absolutely love how Ibi doesnt take any shit!
-
As you say Dave the POD is long overdue for a refurb if thats possible or knocked down completely and rebuilt to be fit for purpose in 2026, and not stuck in the 1960's as it is now. For me the ideal solution is a new purpose built stadium, fully enclosed, no open ends, like Almondvale only better, stadium parking, good transport links etc etc. It all depends how the current board see the club developing .

MaraDonnell! The re-birth is quite something!
-
Very few teams score against us these days, especially at fortress Fir park, we are the clean sheet kings đȘ
-
I hope he gets the chance to see if he can cut it at premiership level.
-
Olly Whyte scored again for Stenhousemuir yesterday. Surely he'll make the step up next season?
-
Since we will be in different groups after the split, Dundee United didn't score a goal against us this season.
-
SOD the striker.
-
Jim Goodwin used to physically assault opposition players on the pitch and claim it wasn't a foul.

The Dundee Courier's take on events...no surprise there then. "A furious Jim Goodwin has slammed the âridiculousâ penalty kick award that sent Motherwell on their way to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Dundee United. The Steelmen broke down a stubborn Terrors resistance as half-time approached following an off-the ball clash between Vicko Sevelj and Tawanda Maswanhise. The United man swung his arm as he sought to shrug off the Zimbabwe international â undoubtedly ill-judged, and something that gave the officials a decision to make â but the footage was unclear regarding the severity of the contact. Nevertheless, referee Nick Walsh was evidently convinced by the footage presented by VAR Ryan Lee and pointed to the spot before booking Sevelj. âMotherwell didnât have a shot on the target until the ridiculous (penalty) decision that went against us,â fumed Goodwin. âIt was a sucker-punch and the players didnât deserve it. âA decision like that really takes it out of the players â mentally, as well â after working so hard. âA coming together of two players like that happens 100 times in football. However, thatâs what weâre used to this season, with the way games are being refereed.â However, all that decent defensive work was undone on the cusp of half-time when Sevelj and Maswanhise clashed. Maswanhise hit the deck like a ton of bricks â the second time in as many games that a Motherwell player has made a preposterous meal of a situation â and caught the attention of VAR. And, as is invariably the case, the on-field referee agreed with the team in the Baillieston HQ. Maswanhise managed to shake off any residual agony to clinically slot the ball past Maynard-Brewer. âPlayers have to take some responsibility,â continued Goodwin. âWe had a similar type of incident against Hearts when their player (Marc Leonard) went down holding his face like heâd been hit hard (by Pan Camara) and conned the ref. âToday, Maswanhise went down like heâd been punched with full force in the ribs. It gives VAR something to look at â but Iâd love a referee to see it and just say, âthatâs not a penaltyâ. âItâs not a penalty and I wouldnât want penalties like that given.â

A few contenders today but I plumped for TJ, given his match winning contribution and the fact that United targeted him from the off.

I was sorry to learn that John Boyle took unwell and collapsed at Fir Park this afternoon. Hopefully he's ok. Its great that he still takes an interest in us and I still have a lot of time for him. I met him on several occasions and he was always pleasant and approachable. Yes he made huge mistakes, but his heart was in the right place. Hopefully he'll be attending games again in the near future. As I say, I hope he's recovering and its nothing serious.

Another tough game. Another game we can win. Another game I wouldn't be surprised if we dropped points.
