  1. Past hour
  2. Maybe we should go back to giving them extra stands and charge everyone £26, would stop a couple of folk complaining about £36 three games a season and I’m sure we’d make more cash
  3. I hope it's been successful for you. That's more than doing your bit. With regards to the season ticket issue I agree that it's the best way re affordability but sometimes work gets in the way for folk. I shared one with a family member a couple of seasons ago because they had to work one in every three Saturdays and they didn't think it was worth buying one for themselves. I was happy enough getting to some games over the season and it worked out ok - because at that point I would have struggled to afford one for myself.
  4. I don't like the Hunter stand as imho it isn't as good a view
  5. If only it were that easy with regards getting to games. On the "invest in the club" comment, I talked my wife into investing £7.5k into advertising her business at the ground (3 years now) so we do our bit.
  6. Today
  7. They both charge us the maximum permitted.
  8. My preference for Lennon would be 1. Como 2. Bologna 3. Torino 4. Udinese Given that those are the 4 that are allegedly in for him, Im pretty comfortable that he will get a good move and we will get a decent price. I think Como is the best fit as he would be going to an upcoming team and under the stewardship of Fabregas, he would be learning from one of the best. Also, the views! Whats not to like? Bologna would also seem to be a good fit and they have certainly been good for Ferguson. They have European football to look forward to, so I would guess even if he wasnt a first pick there, he will get enough games thru squad rotation. Also the possibility a bigger club comes in for Ferguson creating space. Torino, not sure how they play but clearly a decent standard to finish mid table and having Adams on board, should help the settling in process. Udinese, Im not so keen on. Moreso due to their links with Watford and how mental they look with consrant churnover of managers and players. It might turn out ok, but Id be concerned he would be loaned out and might disappear. Every chance he may not go to any of the above, but wherever he ends up, I just hope it happens soon and we can all move on.
  9. Sorry, I misread your post. I actually don't know what we get charged to be at Ibrox - I don't go, assume it's 35 quid.
  10. I know what they were discussing. But why does anyone really care? Most of our fans are season ticket holdlers and those that arent can easily be accomodated in the Hunter where the prices are cheaper (and imho the view is better). The big 2 have been overcharging our fans for years to sit in shite seats in the worst areas of their stadia. I get that 2 wrongs dont make a right, but Id be really annoyed if they got a better deal at Fir Park than we do over there. Given its the big 2 that pretty much set the prices, then Im more than happy with the clubs position on this. Especially as we dont roll over rand give them tickets elsewhere in the stadium anymore.
  11. I don't think people were discussing space. They were discussing the price of category A games.
  12. Pretty obvious he wants to go abroad then 🙄
  13. Re the pricing debate. Most of our fans are season ticket holders. Attendances show that. Any walk ups will find space in the Hunter no problem. Thats what I did, when I didnt have a season ticket. I never had an issue getting in. Given the financial argument, Im surprised we are even discussing this.
  14. I think that Udinese, Torino, Como and whoever else can probably outbid Partick Thistle and St Johnstone.
  15. I am shocked more Championship clubs haven't tested the water think he would do well in that league and a move to a Championship does well and we have sell ons it's like printing money.
  16. Clubs just don't "stump up". You see that at every level where they often go through multiple rounds of negotations with club and then player's management. We just don't notice it as much when it's not our player. Even when a bid hasn't been accepted yet, managers and agents will be in discussions with potential suitors so the personal terms will be ready to sign. Also don't forget, that most countries don't have the insanity of a league cup at the start of pre-season, and so conduct business a little bit later. And finally, of course, MIller gets the final say on where he goes, so even if we accept a bid from a club, it doesn't mean they will get him. Given his history of making good career choices so far, I'd be surprised if his next step isn't also ideal for him.
  17. I am starting to get the feeling this is going to drag on and on Celtic will come in with a 4 million bid during the last few days of the window and that will be that. It's all well and dandy holding out for the right fee but it's pretty important we sell Lennon this window come January unless he has turned into prime Messi it's fire sale time or even leaving us on a free in the summer. If these clubs wanted him they would have stumped up the fee easy I am starting to think it's the add on's that might be the stumbling block here.
  18. Just had a look at the Livingston fc website - they split their prices into three categories - it's 30 pounds for a Livi fan to watch Celtic or Rangers. 28 for Hearts Hibs and Aberdeen. 26 for the rest with concessions and other prices dropping as well depending on who they are playing. I actually think that's quite an interesting way to do it - and there's maybe scope for us to do something similar going forward. We put our prices up this season after a couple of years of freezes so obviously fans who pay at the gate are taking a bigger hit and as has already been said - obviously for some fans they'll just make the decision to watch the game on tv rather than pay 34 quid at the gate. The club said they had to put prices up this season because of a 20 per cent rise in match day costs It's the fan who wants to pay as they go that takes the biggest hit -I certainly wouldn't be able to go if I didn't have a season ticket.
  19. That is an answer but we do have to recognise floating attendees will always be around.
  20. Better get his finger out and start scoring again , his career is moving quickly on to it's twilight years.
  21. Reports saying Torino interested now in Miller. Hope bidding war can bump up price.
  22. Easy solution. Invest in the club as well as saving money and buy a season ticket. 👏
  23. But realistically do they have an option? the rules clearly tell them how they can charge. How many Motherwell fans would scream blue murder if we charge OF fans £20 when they charge us £35 so we can charge Motherwell fans £20. Motherwell are caught in a difficult place, doing so would be a big financial hit. Reducing the ticket prices for 4800 fans in the McLean stand would not be offset by the increase in the home support. We'd be lucky to put another 500 Motherwell fans on the gate when its live on TV. Please don't anyone think I'm defending outrageous pricing , I'm not but I have a degree of sympathy with the club who are on the horns of a financial dilemma.
  24. Its not that long ago that the club did not care about the home fans and gave the ugly sisters the South and Cooper stands as well as both wings of the POD any time they were in town, moving many ST holders in the process. The only thing the club can do given that they are bound by league rules etc is to do away with match categories and charge all fans home and away the same price, for all stands apart from the Hunter, I think its currently £26 for the POD. But it will never happen as the financial cost to the club would be prohibitive, 5000 away fans in thd South stand at £8 is £40k, 4 times a year is £160k that could finance 1 or 2 players wage.. Thats also another reason why league reconstruction is so difficult to get agreement on, clubs dont want to lose any of the revenue from games against the ugly sisters.
  25. Im fully aware of why its done, it doesnt make it any less diagraceful. To put the prices up for each stand in order to cash in on the toxic atmosphere that the Old Firm bring along to Fir Park whilst also putting your own fans off is poor. Its always been that way since Cat A and B pricing was brought in but to go from £26 to £34 is getting a bit beyond the average fan, as well as putting up concession pricing which is a concession for a reason from £19 to £26 isn't great. To watch 4 old firm games a season on their own now comes out at £136 and thats before any refreshments are bought. Im not saying its not good business as the Old Firm fans will pay but it will stop a lot of our own fans coming, especially when its on the tv.
  26. I would never know what Wellgirl says... The SPFL rules state Pricing ...... there are some restrictions, such as away fans not being charged more than home fans for comparable seating. The Hunter Stand is in effect converted terracing whilst the the other three are genuine stands and as such the comparable seating rule doesn't apply. Therefore if we reduce the prices for the home fans for comparable seats in two stands we would need to charge the OF fans the same for the McLean stand. The prices are scandalous but if we are prepared to accept the cash hit we can lower the prices for everyone.
