  1. Yesterday
  2. Kettlewell doesn't see what the fans see, and that's a good thing. Because, for the most part, the fans know hee-haw about managing a football team. There's a reason why he's being paid to sit in the dugout while we're paying to sit in the stands.
  3. I'd go Moses all day long. It hasn't really worked for Shaw at Fir Park. On Spittal, I don't see him being dropped.
  4. I think this is fair comment. But I'm not sure who the alternative choice as leader could be, given that almost everyone else has been in and out of the team. Another part of the rebuild required. Miller in time perhaps but that is a long way off. Butcher and Casey were obvious choices at season start but they have had their own issues to overcome without being burdened with Captaincy. And anyway, the players seem comfortable with Kelly. But to bring some balance to this Kelly debate. Every one of our defenders has made multiple errors this season, leading to goals conceded. And that includes untouchables McGinn and Gent. The entire team shares responsibility for our defensive failings. As for the Aberdeen game I wonder if Kelly's loudest critics actually bothered to watch the game. Kelly was all that stood between us and a 3 or 4 nil hiding in the second half. Strange how anything good he does is ignored by some. And, yes, he frustrates me at times as well but then so do they all.
  5. Given how many teams we play against that launch balls into the box, it's not a bad talent to have. I've said it for years now, that as long as he just keeps his passes short and simple he's worth his place in the team based on his aerial presence.
  6. And Casey gives me the fear any time the opposition swings in a cross because there's a fair chance he'll be out of position.
  7. I don't care as much what a defender is like on the ball, I need them to be able to defend. That involves marking the right man, compressing space, covering team mates, attacking the ball etc. I've lost count of the number of times this season that Casey has lost his man (or been nowhere near him) and been responsible for conceding a soft goal. He gets less stick from fans because he runs about a lot and makes faces, but his actual defending skills are pretty limited.
  8. Brilliant at heading the ball away but you look through your fingers when it's at his feet.
  9. I agree that Casey has had his moments but Bevis just gives the fear every time he is on the ball. An absolute gem of a guy and always welcome at fir park but time to move on
  10. I also think making him captain has contributed to his dip in form. You see it happen to some players when the additional responsibilities on game days in training takes away some of their focus.
  11. That I respectfully don't agree with to be fair.
  12. Casey has been more of a defensive liability overall this season than Bevis.
  13. We've reached the point with bevis where it will benefit both parties if he moves on,he's never really improved while he's been here and been a bit of a liability the whole way through.we need as much funds freed up to bring some defenders in and bevis leaving would be a good start.
  14. Me neither he can be really good but he's a potential bomb scare at times guaranteed at least one or two mistakes every game.
  15. I agree with that. I think SOD gets a very hard time when Bevis can be a defensive nightmare at points
  16. Think now's a good time to move on from him I think we can get better than him he's a very nice guy but not that convinced on his ability to defend. and hopefully does his usual bombscare when we play them next season.
  17. Apparently Bevis to Dundee utd is the next rumour. I wouldn't lose sleep over that to be fair
  18. Absolutely. The constant Kettlewell is shite and Kettlewell must go.
  19. The poster cracked a joke and that's all it was in my view. If it's not breaking the site rules then it will stay up. People can report posts they aren't happy with I personally don't think debating that post is helpful either. There's plenty of posts on here I've thought have been over the top over the last while. Other people will disagree. Don't see the need to single one post out
  20. Kelly is definatley saddled with rubbish infront of him no arguament there. He has however thrown a barrow load into his own net this season. By the standards he set in his first two seasons he has been very poor this year.
  21. 2 wrongs don't make a right though.🤔
  22. It was as funny as fuck to be fair. And I don't think the four anon people who were referred to will lose sleep over that post
  23. I take your point RE Kelly, he's the last line of defence, if the defenders in front of him are not doing their job then it makes his job a lot harder. Stop the crosses coming in and you'll stop a lot of the goals we concede
  24. I was meaning in relation to the info provided in that post about Kelly. The main point was that we can't hold the keeper solely responsible for clean sheets, as it's a team effort. You're right though, we're not the worst defensively as far as goals conceded is concerned.
  25. I think that table if I'm correct was placing Kelly as the worst keeper because of the number of clean sheets compared to other goalies. But as you say other teams have conceded more goals
