The Bois did themselves proud yesterday - a lot of thought and effort went into that display and it added to the atmosphere. Generally I'm not a fan of pyros due to the effect smoke can have on those nearby. However yesterday, it was confined to one corner of the East Stand, with no-one affected in the South Stand. I am still of the view that we need to take a consistent view pyros, whether they are in a football stadium or on a protest march. Football fans shouldn't be singled out unless there's a serious incident. Fireworks over the East Stand! Thats a first.
  3. Enjoyed that. Nice to see the win has brought out the sanctimonious pricks as well.
  4. But if the ones who constantly post negative comments could balance it with positive ones when we win ...that'd be good but sure they'll pop up next season, if not this season.
  5. Delighted we're in the mix with Hibs/Aberdeen for 7th. Be interesting to see if further changes will be made to starting 11 in remaining games. Nicholson and some of the other fringe players may get a bit more game time. Must be a tricky balance as finishing 7th rather than 9th will strengthen the budget for next season v's giving some players a bit more time to show what they can do. Was looking at the squad and had forgotten about Calan Elliot the NZ right back that joined until end of the season. Assuming we'll never see him.

What about the opposite side of the coin, with all the banners and choreographed displays in the corner of Hunter stand will any of our young bois go on to a career in art and design?

  8. Losing will always generate more comments than winning. It's just the nature of it. When we lose every supporter will have his own ideas as to why - line up, tactics, subs, in game events etc. That will produce discussion among the forum members. When we win most people will be happy to post their thoughts and then move on as winning doesn't tend to produce the same level of alternative or individual views. People will always disagree when we lose, very rarely will people disagree as to why we won. That's usually fairly obvious.
  9. This must be a two in row win for us? Nice weekend trip to Dingwall COYW
  10. True to a certain extent although the principle remains the same. If you're happier to extend this comparison to local rags then they're full of crime reports, controversies, road accidents; deaths; crumbling schools; terrible planning applications and political shenanigans etc (based on recent Dundee Courier articles). The odd good news item is chucked in. I'm depressed just thinking about it! Its an old adage that good news/events don't create interest. In short, this Forum is no different to society as a whole. I'll post my, hopefully balanced, match summary in the morning to try to stimulate some debate.
  11. Not sure reporting world events about people dying in wars has much to do with 'Well fans being happier when they can moan about SOD.
  12. True, although its not peculiar to this forum. How many newspapers or TV news bulletins promote good news stories? It's human nature to wallow in negative stories. Plenty of talking points in yesterday's game.

  14. Defeat to Aberdeen, 9 page thread. Four one win and guaranteed top league status, four pages. Says a lot about some of our support and forum members. Some people are only happy when they're ragin'. COYW.
  15. Well, at the very worst, we'll now finish 10th and avoid the play offs. Hopefully now we can now start preparations for next season in earnest.
  16. I can too..... That's where I'm doing my degree 🤣
  17. If you want a statistics class in Combinatorics, I can recommend the Open University.
  18. Blaney had a very solid game both defensively and good passing offensively so went for him although given no option to vote for the Miller/Gent/Bair combo.
  19. I personally think you could be more happy clappy than that to be fair 😂. No no no. Stuart Kettlewell's Motherwell army
  20. in such a tumultuous season there have been some fantastic goals scored - Spittal against Celtic of these to both recognise his contribution overall but mostly for the sublime turn by Miller. Both Nicholson’s and Theo’s goals today would be contenders.
  21. Yeah but for Motherwell goals it's always going to be announced at the POTY so it's always going to close before the end of the season.
  22. The video above is just the Motherwell ones isn't it? Which is why I thought it was the vote that Blaney won tonight at the POTY.
  23. We were discussing that this at the Game Dave, 3 games to go and the goal of the season has been picked and we had the winner today in my opinion. The award should have been made after 38 games played, not 35.
  24. Sorry I meant the Scotland wide vote. Is that tonight also?
  25. I think it is closed early because they announce it at the player of the year awards which is tonight.
  26. Why was this vote closed so early? Surely Sam Nicholson's screamer today would have been a top contender?
